A Knight Who Eternally Regresses

I have never made a review for any book ever. I say this to further emphasize just how great this book is. It is one of the best interpretations of a weak to strong story ever made. It seems so simple at first until you realize you’ve hit chapter 48 and it still feels like the growth is right. Most of these stories start off great and then turn to shit but somehow the author has an impeccable sense of writing that FORCES you to be enjoyed. There is almost no exposition yet the world building is great. It feels like I’m learning about the world with the character which is insanely difficult for most authors. Next up the characters are beautifully made, especially our main character. in the most recent chapter (chapter 96) as I was reading about his backstory I thought about how it seems as if he likens using the sword as a substitute for having a family. Lo and behold, right after he says the sword is his family. That type of characterization that made me understand the character so much that I could PREDICT his thoughts has almost never happened to me before. I could keep going on and on about the story but I think this is enough to get you to just start reading it as I wouldn’t want anything to be spoiled for you!

I came after reading the manhwa seeking more, this far surpassed my expectations, 10/10

After checking out the manhwa, I immediately had to come find the novel. This type of story isn't particularly uncommon, and I've read a few different manga and LN takes on it. Many of those stories tend to get overly bogged down in the psychological toll of the scenario, though. While that's a fun and interesting aspect to explore, it does get stale after a while. There's very little of that here, though, and only used sparingly and reasonably. The focus of the story is an incredibly thorough breakdown of the main character's growth on the battlefield and his tenacious will to use every loop to become stronger than the last one no matter who tries to bring him down physically or mentally. These stories can be challenging to write because of required determinations on what to include in the repeated days and what to skip over. However, the author does an extremely good job with the pacing and manages to never make it feel repetitive but also never skips ahead in a way that makes it feel like you missed any of the action. As for the loops, if they're taking a psychological toll, then it would be an inverse of the norm in these types of stories. It seems to drive him towards an ever growing madness and fortitude to become stronger. It's a very fun read with an mc more akin to Guts from Berserk (strong, driven, and stoic) than a young man who needs to go through the same personal growth arc you've read a million times. Quite often these stories tend to fall apart a couple hundred chapters in as the writer loses focus and direction but having read what's there so far, I'm pretty confident that won't be an issue here. It's worth the read for sure.

An absolute masterpiece. It has great pacing; the protagonist becomes stronger slowly but surely, purely through his own efforts, and there are no deux ex machina bullshit power ups. Story is great, and I love the worldbuilding. A grungy, low fantasy world where magic is rare and poorly understood. I also like the mystery surrounding the knights, who seem to surpass the limits of human abilities through some unknown method or training unknown to both the characters and the reader.

I came here after reading Manhwa, But in 3 days I read 140 chapters, that is how much I like this novel. I read other novels that the character building is so fast, MC become too much powerful in few chapters.

Good novel but terrible translator charging hundreds of dollars for unreleased chapters. Imagine paying $1000 to read a book they didn't even write. Shameless. Can find full translation online if you look hard enough with no MTL.

love this novel, and I never actually read a novel before, this is the first and probably the only one I'll ever read haha, i came after reading the manhwa, love the author work, and I look forward every night to reading the new chapter, hopefully it will keep on being consistent and again, hopefully, the author won't repeat the mistakes he made with "The story of a low-rank soldier becoming a monarch".

This novel is very interesting and will pull you in. As long as you can look past what seem to be a few minor translation errors where himself seems to always be typed as “himsfairy” which I couldn’t find a proper explaination for as well as many instances of her and him getting mixed up which can make it confusing to tell who is actually talking or acting sometimes,Although mainly I’d just like to stop seeing himsfairy pop up. But like I said very few errors and a very awsome story so far.

I really enjoy regression stories, this one is definitely worth a read and a top 3 in all regression stories. give it a read although the mc is a bit bleak at times and the mental aspect of regression is a bit downplayed It's still really solid.

Una historia excelente, se mantiene un equilibrio de poder impecable, el desarrollo del personaje principal es paulatino, los personajes secundarios también gozan de un pulido sobresaliente. Todo se va revelando de forma efecto de manera que el misterio solo aumenta la expectativa sin ser desesperante. Hay una progresión clara y sostenida, nunca recae en inconsistencias propias de relleno, ya que todo enmarca lo necesario para el avance del personaje principal. En cada aspecto se permite ver qué hay mucho más allá por descubrir, por conquistar, por explorar, sin embargo la narrativa atrapa al lector en el presente. No aburre desde la perspectiva que uno no logra dilucidar completamente los pasos a seguir. Esto no quiere decir que caiga en recursos rebuscados carentes de lógica sino que la lógica del escritor va un poco más allá de lo visto o a lo que estemos acostumbrados. El recurso de eventos fortuitos no es exagerado, dando a comprender de que si bien hay un poco de suerte, los planetas no se alinean cada episodio o para salvar al escritor de una trama enredada. Todo esto y más hacen de esta novela una historia atraparte, suficientemente compleja para atrapar pero no tanto como para perder al lector en intrincados laberintos que nunca serán explorados.

PEAK. Not the usual regression story the we see from manhwas, yes from the title we know he eternally regresses, but thing is that unique quirk or plot development tool is utilized amazingly and mc actually acts like his personality, not the usual OP or thinks im so strong op from usual manhwas, but an actual trying, persevering, and struggling man trying to achieve his dreams

This is an amazing novel. Great character development. And the power is balanced there is a reason for everytime he grows stronger. I love the relationship he has with his squad members. This novel captivates me and I am consumed and entranced in reading it. You’re doing a great job author. I definitely recommend giving this a read

I absolutely can not get enough of this story. It's a nice take on the weak-to-strong, regressor, future-knowledge genre. Usually, there's some story element or talent, previously unbeknownst to the MC, and is the driving force of the story. But this guy, Encrid? Nah, I'm just gonna keep trying until I get it right; through hundreds, or even thousands of repetitions, if necessary. I love that he's NOT special, uniquely talented, or has some mysterious inner power that propels him through the adventure. The dude just keeps putting in the effort and finds that process enjoyable, which, in turn, I find enjoyable. Very much so. The only reason I dinged the writing quality at 3 stars is the English translation. If I could read Korean well enough to understand the meaning behind the analogies or descriptive language, I'm sure it would be a 5 star. BUT, even with a slightly janky English translation, it's absolutely enthralling. Thank you, Author (babayaga01), for telling this tale and keeping us readers so engrossed in this madman's hard-fought journey to Knighthood. Keep yourself in excellent health so that we can continue enjoying the art you've brought into the world until its (undeniable) fantastic conclusion. <3 🫰🫰🫰

Words can't explain how unhealthy my obsession with this novel is bro. I can't even remember how long it's been since I've been this attached and excited for a novel to the point of looking for new chapters every single day. The story is so damn awesome and the characters are so likeable that it's crazy. I 100% recommend this.

Id the the best part of this story for me is the characters and is a fresh feel. hopefully they become more fleshed out as well as the world view, though they have been a slow and anticing snowball so far. Cant wait for each chapter and im depressed I reached the most recent chapter.
