20 Dun! Dun! The appearance of the protagonist- 1

Xie safely avoided the dangerous situation as he accidentally kneed the man in his lower half.

Right now, he leaned closer to the window, putting a safe distance between them.

Xie's heart still nervously drumming within his ribcage.

Isaac, barely holding out amid the grievous pain he had to endure, had scooted to the other side since he had learned from his previous mistake.

Xie glared at the guilty-looking Alaric, with his arm crossed across his body and harumphed, clearly expressing his dissatisfaction.

"You forgot about me!"

Alaric kept apologizing during their entire ride and skillfully coaxed his childish madam.

Isaac, who got forgotten by the rest, still clutching his lower part, face displayed his anguish with his back leaned weakly on the seat.

He should sleep. When he woke up, he wished to forget the shameful memory from before.

That man, Xie Winchester, had successfully made his day jumpy and restless.

The drive went on for another hour, along the highway, still maintaining the previous speed. Before long, the car arrived at the entrance of the rest area.

"We will rest for a while in this place. After an hour or two, we will be in the move again." Richard informed the passengers inside the car about his plan.

"Are you going to drive for one whole day?" Alaric inquired, feeling somewhat worried for Richard.

If Richard kept on driving the car, wouldn't he feel exhausted? He was a human, not an android.

For him to drive for another two hours might be bearable, but to keep the momentum for the rest of the day...isn't it impossible?

Richard was the only driver, the only one capable of doing the driving task.

Isaac could drive, but it was inappropriate to ask him to be the substitute driver since the man was Richard's employer. Whoever had the gut to ask your boss to drive for you?

Alaric? He cannot drive since he was underage and didn't have his driving license.

He never touched the steering wheel in his whole life. How could you expect a novice to drive? Unless you wished to go to the afterlife, you could ask Alaric to drive the car.

Madam? Nah, he had a phobia concerning his previous driving experience. To force him to drive was a bit too much. Forget it.

"Will you be okay?" The worry within Alaric's eyes was pretty discernable.

Richard felt warm at the concern Alaric showed him. He ruffled the boy's hair.

"Oh, Don't worry." Richard's smile was as bright as the sun. No wonder that prince valued this little boy. He was adorable. "It was until we reached the first town. Not too far from this rest area. Presumably, about two hours? Then, we will spend overnight in the hotel we booked the previous night." Richard patiently explained their itinerary to the curious Alaric.

"Two hours?" Xie's ears perked up. "Then tomorrow we will be moving by car just like today?"

"Yes. Two days by car and a day by plane. We will spend an overnight stay in a hotel for the second day, but on the last day, we should have arrived at our destination." Richard put on a signal to enter the rest area. The place was way too big than Xie anticipated and filled with people.

"It seemed the place we're going was indeed too far from what I initially expected." Xie sighed. Oh, but, on second thought, the far the distance, the better for him.

As if he had recalled something, he guiltily looked at the man beside him, who kept averting his gaze. A bead of sweat adorned Isaac's smooth forehead.

It must be painful. By the look on Isaac's face, he seemed to still suffer from the aftereffect of Xie's lethal attack.

"Sir Isaac, perhaps, you still felt the discomfort on the lower part of your body? Should I help you massage it?" He's not going to take advantage of him, okay? Because Xie only wanted to help him out due to his guilty conscience. "Do you want me to do that?" With his hands, he made a gesture of massaging.

Isaac's face changed drastically at his suggestion and marred with horror.

"No! No! There's no need for that! I am serious!" He adamantly refused. His voice laced with a sliver of fear. His vehement refusal made Xie want to laugh. The incident from before must have left a psychological shadow on him.

"I'm sorry." Xie was apologetic. He felt sympathetic towards the man. After all, everything started by him, the culprit who initiated the whole thing. "I...I compensate you. What do you want? Please tell me."

"There's no need. You shouldn't feel guilty." Isaac tried to reassure him. "It was also my fault."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. I'm alright." At the very least, he did not think his lower half would get crippled by Xie's attack. Because, right now, that part had been standing proud and tall in its constraint. He has a hard time concealing the tent in his pants. On top of feeling pain, he was also uncomfortable. "Certainly, I'm okay. Please don't worry about me."

"But-"

Isaac was still defending his sentence from before. He was in the wrong one. There was no need to feel apologetic.

He deserved such awful treatment. After all, it was inevitable he got such repercussion for his stupid attempt of molesting someone in broad daylight.

Xie finally succumbed to Isaac's reliable way of appeasing him, and his shoulders sagged in relief.

They arrived in an empty parking lot after wandering in the rest area for thirty minutes.

Isaac's raging fire finally calmed down. He could finally relax.

It was time for lunch, so he invited them to eat together.

Xie gladly accepted his invitation. It's better to follow him around rather than get himself lost in the process.

Richard walked ahead with Alaric trailed behind him. They talked about many things. The shy and quiet Alaric finally found a compatible partner that he felt comfortable to pour his thought.

Xie sullenly looked at Alaric's enthusiastic back and lamented in his heart. That kid, since he got someone in his eyes, he had been neglecting his parent.

A parent couldn't compare to one's significant other. Tsk(3x).

He got abandoned by his child, the one he nurtured since the boy in his diaper.

His sad tale of life might start here.

His sadness disappeared as fast as it came. Right at this moment, his attention focused on something else.

Xie behaved like a child, that coming out to see the world for the first time in his life.

Everything, literally everything, attracted his attention, and he will stray from the rest had it not been constant surveillance from Isaac.

There was a stall that sold cotton candy in the rest area. It looked the same as the one in his old world, but what about the taste?

He approached the cotton candy seller and asked him for one.

Isaac paid the seller before Xie could take out his money. He coolly said, "My treat. Whatever you want to buy, let me pay them for you."

Xie said nothing, but he felt uncomfortable.

Why did Isaac behave like a boyfriend who accompanied his girlfriend on a date? He even offered to pay for his stuff even though Xie didn't need any of that. He's a rich man, remember?

"Isn't that inappropriate? I felt that I had indiscriminately mooched off your money." Xie took a bite of the pink and fluffy cotton candy. His eyes gleamed with relish. Oh my god! It's sweeter than he anticipated. And, rather than eating candy, he felt like eating silk. The texture was so smooth and melted instantly in his mouth.

"Was it delicious?" Isaac was not a fan of sweet things. He preferred something like bitter coffee, Nescafe, or something similar.

Xie showed him his dimple smile and earnestly nodded his head.

Dazzled by such a beautiful smile, the dumbfounded man stayed rooted in his place. He gazed at Xie's pink lips and kept swallowing his saliva.

Something hot trickled down from his nostril, and he quickly pinched his nose. Blood?! To think he was having a nosebleed due to Xie's innocent smile!

Isaac Killian, how many times in a day you're going to keep embarrassing yourself?!

"Sorry! I gonna hit the toilet first!" Then he bolted out toward the direction of the public toilet.

Xie, who got left behind, blinked his eyes in confusion. He shrugged his shoulders and munched his cotton candy, savoring the taste.

"Hmm, delicious."

He waited for almost fifteen minutes, but Isaac still did not come to the meeting point.

Maybe he had diarrhea? Was that the reason for him to get overly panicked just now? Because he couldn't hold it back anymore?

Isaac's clean and cold image had unfortunately got smeared to black by Xie.

He felt tired standing, so he started seeking a place to sit.

People were everywhere. It was hard for Xie to walk without bumping his shoulder into someone.

While walking in a daze, he had an unfortunate accident. Out of nowhere, someone harshly bumped into him.

Instead of falling, Xie managed to regain his footing. But, to his dismay, a young woman with wavy, reddish-brown hair collided with him. And without rhyme, she suddenly fell on the ground.

She shot out her hand and grabbed his forearm, dragging him into the falling motion.

Both fall hard on the dirty pavement road.

The woman somehow laid horizontally above the ground. While he, who should fell on top of her, untimely avoided her body and fallen beside her.

The situation was chaotic due to the overcrowding of humans in that one particular place at one time.

"Oww!" The young woman exaggeratedly screamed in pain.

Xie, who got scratched by the woman's fake nails, and his clothes got torn off, could only let out a disgruntled groan.

"What are you doing, pervert?!" The young woman screamed at him, and suddenly Xie got slapped by her.

The impact of the slap made Xie stumble sideways.

Damn it. It's hurt! What kind of palm does this woman have? A steel one?

"You...I'm going to sue you!" The young woman yelled.

Xie was annoyed by this sudden turn of events. He clearly fell together with her because she was the one who dragged him down! Why would she blame him for her misfortune?

And, who she called a pervert just now? He didn't even touch her!

How did the situation escalate into this cumbersome scene?!

Author: (Dropped a bomb out of nowhere) You will be meeting the protagonist soon.

Xie: (Shocked) What?! When?! And, where?!

Author: Soon.

Xie: (Grabbed the author's shoulders and shook her body like a baby shaking his rattle) Give me the exact time. I need to make a thorough preparation before meeting her!

Author: ( Being Indifferent) It is supposed to be in this chapter.

Xie: What? How could you inform me just now?!

Author: Or maybe the next one? ( Said in an unsure tone)

Xie: (Desperate) Which one?!

Author: Okay. Don't worry. She will appear in the next chapter.

Xie: Are you sure?

Author: Yes. 100% sure.

Xie bumped into someone, and when he saw her face, he got perplexed by what he saw.

Protagonist: (Stumbled upon each other) We finally meet, Xie Winchester!

Xie: (With a horror-stricken face, cursed the author in his head) Stupid, author! You're lying to me!

Author: (Somewhere in her room, still engrossed in her reading when she suddenly sneezed) Oh. Did someone talk bad behind my back?
