Chapter 4: Into The Lion’s Den Part 1

The Sullivan family are the most famous or more like infamous group in all of the land of Gardenia, so much so that the countries own military have aligned themselves with the family the partnership between the Gardenia military and the Sullivan family have helped the country flourish, and in this age of mystic swords besides the land and kingdom of Camelot the country of Gardenia or rather the Sullivans hold a monopoly on these mystic swords a monopoly they instead to increase. Because of the families high standing and their ever-growing reputation people throughout the country know not to mess with them, people in the military know not to cross them people in the slums know that coming at the Sullivans is a death wish, because everyone knows the power, they hold the power of those mystic swords the riff raff of this world know only other holders of these swords can combat other holders. The rest without are no better than cattle no lower there no better than insect in the presents of such power that is why in the many years since the Sullivans have been established in this country not a single soul has made an attempt against them, well not until now until five children of the slums decided to venture into the lion's den hoping for a big score.

"So how… much…. Longer?"

Porcha said barley able to string words together because of the boats high speed everyone was holding on for dear life, as Tone gunned it, he said because it was a heist he couldn't drive with the lights on or they could be spotted, the all-enveloping darkness fused with the ridiculous speed was terrifying but soon they wouldn't need the boats light.

"Almost….. there…"

Tone managed to stammer out and he was right as the speed boat pulled further and further from the slums port the lights from the capital came closer and closer to view the five of them were stunned eyes wide captivated by the lights coming from the capital, they could see tall skyscrapers from their position lush green fields cars that seemed like fireflies just coming and going perfection is what they thought as they inched closer by the second. The lights from the capital lit their way as if they are riding on a shining golden road, it was only then when the capital was so close that they could have grabbed it is when tone lifted his heavy foot off the acceleration.

"Now were halfway there."

He said as he started moving at a moderate speed for the first time since he began driving Tone turned the steering wheel, they were no longer heading straight for the capitals port any longer they were driving around it.

"What are you doing?"

Porcha said in a hushed tone frightened that someone on the mainland could hear her.

"I thought we were getting off at the port."

"We are."

Tone said back mirroring Porcha's hushed speech.

"But were getting off at the Sullivans private port that's where we'll meet are contact."

So for a while they drove around the coast line all of them gazing up at the shining lights glitzing like diamonds, even though he was the one driving Tone couldn't help but sneak a peek every now and then Jake who sat near the back of the boat was mystified for a second he let himself slip away just like he did back in his mother's hospital room, but unlike back then the thoughts he had were happy hopeful he didn't feel as if he was drowning he felt as if he was light as air it feels so warm he thought the air smells so…. Good he could hear fireworks going off deeper in, (I wonder what thier celebrating) he thought as a small smile formed on his face (I wonder what type of food they eat) his stomach started to rumble softly as he was imaging the grade A food they probably served, maybe grilled salmon with hickory sauce or burgers made from a mega calf his mouth started to water and if it had one his stomachs mouth would have too or maybe their cooking bronze pig that was always moms favorite…. The smallest thought of his mother began smacking him back to reality he was no longer flying he wasn't weightless any more he, fell back down to earth as he remembered why he was here and who he was here for, his stomach noticing the mood shift went back to being silent the smile on Jake's face soon left him as he went back to normal as. Jake refocused at the task at hand he noticed their destination in front of them was the Sullivan families private port and beyond the port itself they could see the Sullivan's private estate the land they owned was huge it was littered with houses no houses would be too small of a word the estate was full of mansions.

"Holy shit."

Jake let slip out.

"Yea I know."

Roach responded giggling his laugh was a mix of excitement and terror the view before them was even more captivating then the dazzling lights from the capital, the pay day they could damn near taste the pay day, if they were smart they could walk away with almost millions but a hint of dreed is what they felt, and if they were smart they would have turned back as they pulled closer to the port a figure came into view, the figure was a woman she was wearing a black dress with a white apron on top of it she was one of the Sullivan's many maids that worked on the property. After the boat was docked and they exited and as they did, they get a good look at her, she was tall like above average for a woman she was just a few inches taller than Tone, and no one was taller than Tone her presence shook them but as she laid eyes on the five of them, she smiled a gentle and warm smile.

"I am Gilda."

She said with a smooth voice.

"Is this all of you."

Tone barely managed to get out a yes still thrown off by here size.

"Good then let us begin."
