Chapter 1: Stark Tower

Inside a residential building in Queens, New York City.

"Come on, bite."

"Bite!"

"Why don't you bite already..."

Sheldon Park stared at the small spider on the back of his hand, watching it open its mouth, revealing two sharp fangs, and viciously trying to pierce the skin, over and over again.

However, every time these teeth, with their eerie purple gleam, made contact with his skin, it was like a paper tube hitting steel. They couldn't penetrate at all.

After five or six attempts, with two snapping sounds, the spider's two venomous fangs broke off.

Just as expected...

Sheldon placed the spider into a glass box to rest and recover, but he himself fell into confusion.

Sheldon Park was a traveler from the East Asian continent, having crossed over to the Marvel Universe in the body of a baby.

Orphaned at a young age, he was adopted and raised by May Park, also known as Aunt May.

The moment he saw Aunt May, young Sheldon knew his identity and his future as Spider-Man because she looked so much like the actress who portrayed Aunt May in the movies—Marisa Tomei.

As a traveler who had watched the movies in his previous life, Sheldon knew that at the age of fifteen, during a visit to a museum, he would be bitten by a radioactive spider, gaining superhuman abilities and becoming Spider-Man.

During that visit, although the spider did fall onto his hand as expected, it attempted to bite twice but failed to penetrate. It then quickly spun a thread and flew towards another target.

Fortunately, Sheldon acted quickly and captured the spider, placing it in a glasses case and bringing it home to raise.

Sheldon had thought about the reason behind this. When he first crossed over, he was given a system that offered the benefit of increasing one attribute to infinity.

The available options were Intelligence, Endurance, Strength, Speed, Energy projection, and Combat skills.

After much hesitation, while listening to the cries of his mother in labor, Sheldon hastily chose an option and was born into the world.

It was later revealed that he had chosen Endurance.

Endurance was equivalent to health points and defense. The higher the value, the harder it was to get injured and the harder it was to die.

In the Marvel world, these six attributes were measured on a numerical scale.

A value of 1 meant weaker than an average person, 2 meant equal to an average person, and the maximum was 7, indicating the pinnacle of the entire Marvel Universe.

For example, Thor and Loki's father, the King of the Gods, Odin, had all six values at 7. On the other hand, a random pedestrian hit by a car thrown by the Hulk would have six values of 2.

When Sheldon saw his endurance value at that time, he was stunned. It turned out to be 8!

An endurance value of 7 meant "Almost invincible," so what did an endurance value of 8 mean? "True invincible"..?

Doesn't that mean even the Goddess of Death, Hela, can't do anything to me..?

Later, Sheldon realized that the number wasn't "8" but "∞" which represented infinity...

From childhood to adulthood, Sheldon had never been injured to the point that he was the sole survivor in a plane crash with his parents.

Coming back to the present situation, Sheldon had been raising this spider for half a year, trying various methods but failing to inject its venom into his own body.

Sheldon had considered using a knife to cut open a wound on his arm, but he couldn't find a sharp and sturdy enough knife that can penetrate his body.

He also thought about directly eating the venomous spider, but he was afraid that the stomach acid would break down and digest the toxins, preventing them from entering his bloodstream.

Now he could only keep the spider, luckily Aunt May wasn't afraid of it.

"Sheldon, come out and eat!"

"Okay..."

Sheldon put down the glass box, slipped on his slippers, and walked into the living room.

Aunt May was wearing a cool tank top on top and denim shorts on the bottom, placing a plate of vegetable salad on the table.

"Sheldon, I've noticed recently when I pick you up from school, I always see you walking with a girl. What's her name?"

"Come on, I don't walk with any girl."

Aunt May took a bite of a tomato, smirked, and playfully pointed her fork at Sheldon.

Annoyed, Sheldon said, "Okay, okay, let's eat!"

*Ding*

"System prompt: New mission—"

[Current mission: Check-in at Stark Tower within 60 minutes]

Sheldon remained unfazed, took a few bites, and said, "Aunt May, I already had a sandwich at school. I am not really hungry right now. I'll go to the bar to work for now, I'll eat this food when I come back."

Aunt May shook her head and smiled, "Hmm, have fun, but don't forget to come back earlier to finish your homework."

"Sure, okay!" Sheldon dashed to the door, put on his shoes, and only realized something was off after stepping outside—

"Have fun?" I remember saying that I'm going to work at the bar...

I really wasn't going out on a date with a girl!

Oh well..

The sky had already darkened, with New York City's towering buildings and dazzling lights illuminating the night. The nightlife was just beginning.

If only I had the superpowers of Spider-Man, effortlessly swinging between skyscrapers with web-slinging, going wherever I wanted...

With that thought in mind, Sheldon hailed a taxi on the street.

"Hey, taxi!"

-(Thirty minutes later)-

Sheldon arrived at the entrance of Stark Tower.

"Wow, it's so tall..."

Looking up with his neck craned, the tower stood out in this sleepless city. The bright lights outlined the sleek contours of the blue glass windows, and under the rooftop on the highest floor, there was a big letter "A" shining.

Entering the building and stepping into the lobby, Sheldon heard a "ding" sound in his mind.

[System is clocking in, estimated time: 30 minutes.]

So, I have to wait another thirty minutes. I might as well wander around here for a bit.

Time passed second by second, and a security guard patrolling the lobby noticed the high school-looking boy and approached him, "Can I help you with anything?"

'I don't need anything; I just want to stay here for half an hour...'

Sheldon thought this in his mind but came up with a lie on the spot, saying, "I... I'm a high school student. I wanted to come to Stark Industries to apply for an internship. Can I meet Mr. Tony Stark?"

The security guard found it amusing, another young kid wanting to meet Iron Man under the guise of an internship. He patted Sheldon on the shoulder and said, "Mr. Stark doesn't handle these matters. Come with me, I'll take you to the registration desk to fill out a form."

Just then, the entrance was flooded with flashing camera lights, and cries of astonishment filled the air—

"It's Iron Man!"

A red and yellow armored suit descended with jets of fire from its hands, feet, and back, slowly landing. The golden faceplate of the suit popped open, revealing a middle-aged man with a well-groomed beard.

Sheldon had seen Tony Stark in newspapers and on television before, and he looked a lot like Robert Downey Jr. And now, seeing him in person, the resemblance was even more striking.
