Chapter 1 ~Phoenix P.O.V~

Orange was everywhere, yellow and red waves dancing high as pieces of a building fell here and there. I looked around, yelling for her, but she was nowhere to be seen. " Kammy? Kammy?" I yelled the nickname I gave her when we were younger.

I heard a small whimper and spin my head around, I look left and right but couldn't find her, another whimper. I turn to a corner and suddenly a giant piece of wood falls straight toward me, I didn't have time to move so I used my wings to block it. Pain seared through my wings and throughout my body, I didn't realize it was heavier than it seemed but I bit back the pain and let the wood slide off my wing, I felt a few splinters but my top priority is my sister.

I looked around again and heard the whimper again. It seemed closer but weaker, so I rushed as fast as possible toward the whimpers. "Kammy! Where are you? It's Phoenix." I finally saw some purple burned feathers, and there she was, her wings damaged, face full of tears, and holding our dad's chard body. "Kammy" I gasp "There you are, we need to get out of here-" Kammy, my little sister who was only a bit younger than I looked me in the eyes and screamed in fear "M-monster!! Get back! Haven't you done enough?!"

I stopped in my tracks as I felt her words stab through my heart, slow and painfully. I looked her in the eyes but she quickly looked away, I stood there and it felt like the whole room was spinning as I stepped back and disappeared into the walls. "Monster, Murder, Killer" I spun around and there was a bunch of Karmaria's all saying different things, I covered my ears and screamed, "I'm sorry I'm so sorry!!!" The Darkness grew colder and darker as it consumed me, and I screamed.

"PB!!" My sister screamed, and I woke up, sweat going down my neck and sweat coming down my brows. I looked around, and there she was, moonlight shining in, purple hair fading to icy blue, eyes as beautiful and deep as the night. "K-Kammy?"

I looked into her eyes and she looked into mine, it was her. I hugged her and she sang the tune she has been singing since we were 4.

"Oh sun of mine, shine bright and shine high~ I'm right where I belong, and you are right where you belong, Here in my arms, in my wings, stars surrounding us, loving you as much as I love you, so close your eyes and believe me when I say, I'll be here my giant burning star~."

---3 years later---

I woke up, and I couldn't smell any breakfast, "Either she forgot it was her day, or she froze it again" I counted down on my fingers from 3 to 1 and pointed at my door, and almost automatically, my sister came in, "I froze the food again" I sigh and laugh to myself a bit "Knew it" She laughed nervously and I got up, brushed my long sunrise hair, and put it up into a nice ponytail. I put my new school uniform on and made sure it looked good. "Go put your uniform on Kammy, I'll make breakfast" she frowns and mumbles but sighs and goes into her room, I put my -kiss the fire no the cook- apron on, and I began to make some eggs and bacon.

I put a plate of eggs and bacon down in my spot and one in my sister's, along with some tea for me and her. She comes out in our school uniform with a cat choker, bracelets with her three favorite colors, short boots, and a black jacket. "Lookin good as always, sis, new bracelets and perfume?" Her perfume usually smells like lavender but today it smelled like a fresh rainy morning. Karmaria nodded. "It's called morning mist, and I have a new icy blue bracelet with a cute cat pattern." she smiled, and I smiled back;- I'm glad I have her as my sister- I thought. As we ate, my sister looked at me, swallowed her egg piece, and then said, "So...that nightmare again?" I choked on my Green tea and sat there in silence.

After a bit, she stands, goes to my seat, hugs me, and then smiles. "We can talk about it later, for right now, we gotta go to school, and you are not fully ready." I look at her and hug her back. "Thanks, sis." She smiles and pats my back, but then a mouse squeaks scurries up my leg and sits on my head. The tiny mouse squeaked and pointed its nose at the clock, and I quickly let go and lightly put Nix. The mouse on Kammy's shoulder ran into my room, and I got ready as fast as possible. I come out in my school uniform with my hair in a ponytail, boots, sun necklace, and red jacket around my waist. "let's uckin gu," I muffle with my water in my mouth and backpack in hand. "That only took 4 minutes, a new record," The mouse squeaked, then it hopped off Kammy's shoulder, and before hitting the ground, the tiny paws turned into human hands, the mouse tail turned to a wolf tail, the oversized mouse ears turned to wolf ears, and there stood mine and Kammy's childhood and only friend. "Don't forget about your bag, Nix," Kammy said, and Nix just shrugged and went out the door.

I got onto my motorcycle and gave Nix mine and Kammy's bag as she turned into a giant wolf; as Kammy got onto the other seat of my bike, I revved it up and backed out, then began to ride down the street towards our new school, UA Highschool. Who knows what awaits us, whether it's good or bad, my sister and I will do it together, right?
