Attacked

"The use of magic?" Harry muttered, involuntarily attracting a female seat partner who took a glance at him before looking at the teacher.

She said, not taking a look at him, "I see you are not interested but you can excuse yourself if you want to."

Harry only sighed. He clenched his fist as he prayed internally for something to distract Mr. Donaldson so that he wouldn't go on with his class.

Harry knew he was only being stingy by wanting to be the only one who knows how to use magic but also it was because he was scared that the brilliant ones in his class would surpass his strength in no time.

Even though he wasn't intelligent when it came to studies, he wanted to be good in anything pertaining to magic, unknown to him that the more challenges he faces, the stronger he becomes.

"Do not think we will start with telekinesis first, class. We are all going to jot down some notes today. Then in the next class, we shall start with the practical."

However, before anyone could frown at his statement, a man stood at the entrance of the classroom calling Mr. Donaldson's attention. He looked quite younger than Mr. Donaldson, especially with his empty beard and bald hair.

Mr. Donaldson excused the class and walked outside the classroom, he stopped when he stood in front of the man. "Mr. Gareth, I saw the news. It's an earthquake and our city might get affected."

Mr. Gareth was one of his close colleagues.

"That is wrong, Mr. Donaldson," he replied.

Mr. Donaldson frowned his face and it even grew deeper when he noticed the hesitation in Mr. Gareth's words and the sweat that had begun to form right on his forehead as he said, "It is an apocalypse, Mr. Donaldson, and now, the whole city of Landoney is filled with zombies and…" he paused and rectified, "mainly zombies."

"What?!" A frightened voice came right through Mr. Donaldson's mouth. His whole lungs constricted and he looked speechless for a moment.

"Mr. Donaldson, as a body of this management, all we have to do is to ensure the students are protected."

"What about the cops? If it is this..."

"To tell you how worse this is, some cops have been infected."

Mr. Donaldson gritted his teeth. Almost immediately, his brain started to make some random calculations but he wondered why the news had not talked about it being a zombie apocalypse. Even so, the news about the Zombies already filled in this present city seemed too false to be true.

When he stared out the window, he could only see the sign of the earthquake. For the zombies to have occupied many cities at once seemed too untrue. Therefore, he didn't believe it, however, they still had to take measures in case this rumour turns out to be true.

However, Mr. Donaldson believed that the news about the zombie apocalypse was something some random people thought of and then planned to scare people. Especially this time when there was a natural disaster, it was easy to believe.

But to speak nothing but the truth, zombies and all stories surrounding zombies were just fallacies meant to scare people. They didn't exist and there was no way whatever was happening now was a zombie apocalypse.

"Mr. Donaldson, you look as if I have been telling you stories the entire time. Not only have the zombies filled the three cities including Landoney, but about seven cities have been infected. Zombies have attacked a few academies closer to us. The infection is spreading rapidly and we must ensure that we use magic to fight the force of the zombies from attacking the academy until everything is over."

Mr. Donaldson wanted to ask how Mr. Gareth got all this information because his phone had a poor internet connection and he just couldn't get to the news, however, he didn't disagree with what he was told but found it a bit disturbing,

"Mr. Gareth, using magic to protect the academy is time exhaustion if we get tired over time, then our efforts would be in vain. And again, the staff needs to come together and create the spell together."

Mr. Gareth shook his head and then sighed. "I think now, the best thing is to protect the classroom and prevent any student from going out of the classroom, that is the only way to ensure everyone's safety. Each teacher in the classroom is to protect the students. That is better than doing magic collectively. Performing magic collectively will result in confusion and conflict and that is just an easy way to death. Besides, the securities are there to protect us, and telling ourselves to use magic is to prepare for the worst."

Mr. Donaldson only nodded and after Mr. Gareth was done talking, he walked off as if in hurry. Mr. Donaldson wondered if Mr. Gareth would go into each class of the academy to relay the information since the internet was very poor.

However, Mr. Donaldson heard another vibration and then, he unlocked his phone.

To his surprise, he was sent a video and the video shocked the hell out of him.

He swallowed his saliva as he watched the video.

The video showed a reporter, holding his phone as he videoed himself.

He was hiding behind a broken car and was breathing restlessly as he talked, "I'm in Chadwick district and right now, zombies are lurking around. This isn't fake..." He breathed deeply and swallowed, "this road is filled with zombies and they are spreading widely." He gasped, "If you don't believe this...do not, I don't care because I can't possibly risk my life by going amid those zombies to take a video for you to believe but-"

However, the man whose ragged breath could be heard in the video widened his eyes when he heard some random noise behind him, he looked around, trying to look for a better place to hide because he could sense that a zombie or a group was approaching where he was, however, he hadn't moved away when a zombie climbed the roof of the car he was leaning on and then leaned over him to bite the back of his neck.

Mr. Donaldson's hand shook as he saw this and then he stared at the scene, the zombie that had just attacked the reporter, had brown eyes and the corner of its eyes had turned black while its remaining skin looked completely pale.

Not only had the skin turned pale, but when Mr. Donaldson stared closer, he could see many black worms coming out from the zombie's skin while its eyes which were brown changed to white. After a few seconds, those white eyes turned back to brown. For some reason, the zombie looked like it was controlled by something but it was too early to think of that.

On looking closer, on the zombie's neck was a large burnt hole. This zombie had received a bullet but isn't dead?

Mr. Donaldson was completely oblivious to whatever the reporter was doing right now. He was entirely focused on that certain hole in the zombie's skin and he immediately spotted the same strange little worms creeping out from the hole, making the sight something unbearable.

However, when the zombie decided to move away from the reporter, it looked around and then its nose creased in and out, trying to reach its next victim. But as Mr. Donaldson watched the zombie carefully, he heard a small sound from it, "Victim cleared."
