"Demons, ghouls and vampires have filled the earth, will an ordinary zombie with a dead skull find a way to overcome them?" *** In an instant, the world is suddenly filled with chaos. After planet earth was hit by a strange meteor, the earth's surface split into several parts and huge ugly monsters erupted from the open parts of the earth's surface. Many of these monsters destroyed the humans. While some only infected humans through biting, some infected humans through blood contact. With this knowledge, many academies taught their students the use of magic for self-defense. Despite the school's effort to protect its students, a random sixteen-year-old from a renowned academy was bitten by one of the monsters. Scared of what he might face when they realise, he decided to bury the secret. However, things escalated quickly and he got killed by a group of friends who discovered it. Just when he thought he had died, he was woken by sudden beeps. [System Installation...] [Welcome; Undead.] Nevertheless, he found out that he had just been transmigrated into a different body and granted a system. The more humans he infects, the more Exps he gains and the stronger he becomes. Going to the same academy where he was killed wasn't what bothered him. He was bothered by the fact that as an infected, he could not use magic. To be able to use magic, he needs to obey his rebellious system and become its master. But will he succumb to the urge of infecting others? However, what happens when all of a sudden, a fraction of his classmates becomes demons, ghouls and vampires? Will an ordinary zombie become powerful enough to fight extraordinary creatures? "Watch me rise from a nonsignificant element to someone who has the whole world on his fingertips and could flip it whenever he wishes!" Disclaimer: Book cover doesn't belong to me.
UNITED STATES OF MANVESA,
BRODENBURG,
MAXSTAR ACADEMY.
Mr. Donaldson was spotted in a black suit, brown short hair, and black shoes which had long pointed mouths.
On a normal day, the students would have mocked their old man and also disapproved of how changing his hair colour from black to brown was a bad choice, however, they seemed to be wholly immersed in a different topic.
He said, "There would never be any reason to use magic. What we did in our last class is theory and out of the syllabus but our knowledge about it would remain the same. Now, we are moving to another topic."
A girl flung her hand in the air, calling his attention.
When he gave her a go-ahead she spoke with no hesitation, "Sir, we only took theories and there is no way we are going to put all of them in our heads if we do not practice them. The use of magic should not be something difficult to teach. At least, the basics of magic are enough. How do you expect us to believe magic exists when we can't do the magic ourselves?"
When the student was done talking, the other students began murmuring.
"Quiet class. If you want to learn how to use magic, meet your parents at home."
"They also do not believe in magic," another student responded amidst the crowd.
Mr. Donaldson glared at the student. "If people start to use magic randomly like it was done in the past, there would be many more destruction knocking."
As he said this, he dropped the marker in his hands which made a thud sound on the floor.
After a few seconds, the marker rose from the floor it was dropped and floated upwards in the air approaching Mr. Donaldson's palm. "Only the use of telekinesis will cause many casualties in the classroom, let alone in the whole world."
They ignored his last statement and were now focused on the marker that was lying innocently in his palm as if nothing strange just happened.
"We would protest, Mr. Donaldson." The same girl who had voiced out initially stood up.
Mr. Donaldson felt his phone's vibration but since he was in class, he decided to ignore it.
"Protest?" A frown landed in the middle of the teacher's brows. He folded his arms and stared blankly at the teen. "About what?"
"Lack of teaching techniques and discrimination. You will be sued for those two."
The other students laughed as the girl voiced out.
Everyone knew the young lady. She was the most talkative and yet one of the most brilliant students in the class. No teacher dared punish her no matter any words that came forth because her father was one of the highest shareholders of the academy.
Mr. Donaldson ignored her and scribed on the board, "Radioactive Decay."
The ignored girl only pouted before sitting.
Meanwhile, a lanky boy in glasses named Harry sat down quietly as he fiddled with the end of his book. He had been quiet and not even an expression had shown on his face throughout his stay in class.
He was one of those who supported the girl's statement, however, had no bravery to voice it out.
Harry was as enthusiastic about magic as everyone was but since the management of the school does not support the teaching of magic to the students, they had no choice but to keep their thoughts to themselves. So, there was nothing he could do other than keep doing whatever he had been doing; stealing magic spells from student-restricted libraries hoping he wouldn't get caught.
He wasn't shocked by the small display of telekinesis the teacher had displayed to the students who had their mouths open for almost an hour. He was good with telekinesis to the extent that he could move many objects at the same time over a long distance, even objects that were difficult for a human to carry.
That sounded like a lot but there is no satisfaction when you are aware that you can even be better.
However, when the teacher began writing on the board and the students did the same, there were sudden vibrations on the floor where their feet stood.
For a moment, some students didn't notice anything but Mr. Donaldson who noticed it first stopped writing and faced the students. "Can you also feel it?"
One of the boys with spiky red hair at the last seat responded, "We can only feel your selfishness."
As he said this, everyone laughed but instead of punishing the student, Mr. Donaldson waited to know if there was going to be another vibration. When there was none he ordered the student to stand up and he kept writing.
Some seconds passed and a larger vibration was heard throughout the classroom, followed by a heavy wind from the three large windows on the left-hand side. The wind thickened, blowing away books, phones, and every object that weighed less off their tables.
Seeing this, Mr. Donaldson ordered a few students to close the windows, however, even the students were pushed back aggressively by the terrible wind.
There were loud noises around the classroom. The students, especially the female ones among them held tight to their skirts which danced along with the wind.
With this, Mr. Donaldson clenched his fist and released, as he did that, the three opened windows closed and then the wind died down but it didn't stop the wind from giving terrifying noises through the windows.
"Red panties?"
"Shut your mouth, idiot!"
"You all should be in your seats," Mr. Donaldson announced as he walked over to the windows.
When his gaze met the outer region of the school, his jaw dropped.
There were many people running helter-skelter due to how heavy the wind was.
The bluish-white sky had now turned to one filled with heavy dark clouds.
However, sudden fire-like thunders hit the sky, and with this effect, the power in the classroom turned off causing another round of noises throughout.
Mr. Donaldson watched how many people flew in the sky and many vehicles clashed together outside the school.
Knowing what it was, he brought out his phone and saw a notification he had previously ignored.
Earthquake Detected!
Drop, Cover, Hold On.
Protect Yourself.
-USGS ShakeAlert.
Like everyone would have predicted, it was an earthquake, however, why were the USGS so slow at detecting it?
He further went into his phone and saw much news related. After a while, he dropped his phone into his pocket and his eyes met frightened students, some were already in tears as whatever was happening to them was frightening.
"Class, stay put, there is an earthquake going on, fortunately, it is a good distance away from this city, so no harm is done."
Mr. Donaldson tried telling himself that nothing was wrong. It was the best way to make the students feel the same, but that was a big lie. For an earthquake to happen three cities away from Brodenburg and to be felt this deeply, then it was something very alarming.
There was a piece of news sent to organisations about protecting their buildings with magic to avoid the cohesion from the natural disaster, however, this didn't guarantee the fact that they were going to survive but like the latest news he had heard, there were only a few cities that have been affected and there was a possibility that it would stop at that.
When Mr. Donaldson was about to check for the latest news again on his phone, he discovered that there was a poor connection.
"Put on your lights, everyone," Mr.Donaldson instructed the class who had now frozen out of fear.
Those still with their mobiles, immediately put them on, since everywhere was completely dark and the only light they saw was from Mr. Donaldson's mobile phone.
Everywhere was a bit brighter than it was.
"Let's go on with our class!"
"What?" A loud voice thundered and every other voice followed suit.
A loud throat calling from Mr. Donaldson shook them up and he said, "Let's start with the use of magic."
However, this news didn't sound good to only one person, and that was Harry.
