"You really don't want to have a baby anymore?" Edie said in almost a whisper.
Stuart shook his head and said with a frown on his face, "The process of giving birth is too painful! You could run into all kinds of complications and maybe even death. I don't want you to take the risk."
There were tears in Edie's eyes, and she said, "How could I be so lucky to have a man who cares and loves me so much? What more could I ask for?"
Edie's heart was touched; the tears began to stream down her cheeks. She reached out and put her hand around Stuart's neck.
"But I want one," She said bashfully.
Stuart was startled and said, "Really, you want one?"
"I want a child who looks like you and me. He will be treated so well! I'll care for him and love him, and I will give him the childhood that I always wanted." Edie explained. Then she smiled and said, "Don't you think it would be amazing to have a child of our own?"
