It's over pt.1

Hanging up the phone, Jaxon passed the phone back to Julie, "I'll drop you and this guy at the police station, you'll have to stay there to give your testimony to what happened."

"You will be questioned heavily but just lawyer up if they try to mix you into this stuff."

"What about you?" Julie asked with concern, "Will you be going there alone?"

"If I don't catch Willis senior over there, he might escape town once he figures his son has been caught, and considering his patience when it comes to his plans, he might continue to hunt you guys down for life," Jaxon explained, "So I'll need to end this once and for all."

Julie didn't know what to say, on the one hand, she was filled with nothing but gratitude towards him but on the other, she was terrified for his safety. She knew Jaxon was capable, but going after a killer all alone seemed like a daunting task.

"Just promise me you'll be careful," Julie said, her voice trembling slightly.

"I promise," Jaxon replied, giving her a reassuring smile. "After all, I still have a paycheck to earn, just don't faint when you see the bill."

Julie nodded as she smiled a little, her trust in Jaxon evident despite her fear.

They arrived at the police station, where Jaxon dropped off Julie and dragged the still-unconscious boy on the pavement before driving off immediately.

Julie who was left outside of the police station awkwardly looked around and waved at a nearby officer who was busy shoving donuts in his face, "Hey!"

Driving as fast as he could, he finally reached the venue where the pageant was being held, "Looks like they already started,"

Surveying the surroundings he entered the venue, looking for the Trio, but luckily he didn't have to search for long.

Helen was already on the stage and he saw, Ray, sitting in the front seat.

Jaxon took a deep breath, making his way through the crowded venue towards Ray. The lights of the pageant stage illuminated the room. As he approached, Ray turned and noticed him, a mixture of relief and anxiety in his eyes.

"Hey!" Jaxon whispered sitting next to Ray, "Where's the other guy?"

"You mean Barry?" Ray asked, glancing around nervously. "He said the crowd was giving him anxiety, so he's standing over at the balcony."

"That idiot," Jaxon sighed, turning towards the balcony that overlooked the stage. He spotted Barry standing at the edge, looking out over the crowd. "What is up with you guys?"

"What do you mean?" Ray asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.

"You can't follow a single order. The girl over there prioritizes beauty over life. I'm just saying there are better ways to kill yourselves," Jaxon replied, his frustration evident.

Ray's face flushed with a mix of embarrassment and anger. "We're not trying to get ourselves killed. We're just... scared. This whole thing has been a nightmare."

"Boohoo!" Jaxon shook his head with annoyance written all over his face, "Anyway, we caught one of the guys and we found out who the killer is."

"So there really was more than one?" Ray repeated anxiously, "What's the plan?"

"The plan... I don't have one." Jaxon shrugged as he turned to look back at Barry one more time, "You see, planning ahead never really works out, you just got to use your brain and find what works best for the situation and use it."

"Where did you learn that? School of Assholes?" Ray said,

"I do have a degree of go fuck yourself from there," Jaxon retorted standing up, "Just stay here and don't move, keep an eye on blondie over there. Don't even go out for a pee, you hear me."

"Wait! Where's Julie?"

"At the station giving her statement, after the whole thing is over, you four have to go there as well," Jaxon said as he tried to leave again but Ray held his arm,

"Do you like her?"

Jaxon who was fully annoyed by the antics of this friend group, grabbed Ray by the collar and pushed him up again his seat, "High school is over, you dumb fuck! I don't give a shit if you're the cool guy or you're a friend of a friend who's the cool guy. I don't give a shit about your problems and your lovey-dovey fucking bullshit."

"Do you like her?" Jaxon repeated mockingly, "That's none of your business, my job is the catch the guy and get this shit over with, and frankly you've all got bigger issues to deal with than a killer trying to off your ass."

"So shut the fuck up and follow my orders, if you want to live." Jaxon let go of Ray's collar as he fixed his jacket and headed towards the stairs.

The people around him who had seen the entire thing, asked Ray if he was okay as he gently waved them off.

"Imbeciles," Jaxon snorted as he climbed up the stairs positioning himself securely behind the railing as he watched over the other idiot who was cheering his girlfriend on from up here.

"Look at that idiot," Jaxon said to himself, "He didn't even notice me come up here, and this guy wants to live? This is just natural selection..."

Calming his irritation down, he waited as the time passed by, five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes and still there was no sign of the killer.

"Maybe he was alerted that his son was captured..." Jaxon said to himself as he yawned, "Or maybe he was never coming, I just based his M.O. on his previous acts and an assumption..."

"If he escapes, things might get tough for Julie and the rest."

As Jaxon was busy contemplating his next move, he saw a figure pass by from the corner of his eye.

With the similar fisherman garb that he had seen earlier today and the shining fish hook in his arms, Jaxon couldn't help but leap with joy.

The man slowly inched his way toward Barry who was too busy lost in his thoughts to notice the looming threat.

The killer got ready to strike with his hook, but before he could a voice interrupted his actions.

"Hey! Mr. Killer~"

The killer turned around in surprise to find Jaxon pointing his gun at him.

"Oh shit!" Barry who finally noticed the killer stumbled on the ground as he began crawling away,

"Did you seriously bring a fish hook to a gunfight?" Jaxon mocked, his voice dripping with sarcasm and a smirk playing on his lips.

Ben Willis, the killer behind the mask, hesitated, his eyes darting around the crowded room. The audience who was still unaware of what was happening carried on the program.

Willis glanced around, desperation clear in his eyes, but Jaxon took a step closer, his gun steady. "It's over, Willis. Your son is already singing like a canary. There's nowhere left for you to run."

The killer seemed to weigh his options for a moment before making a desperate lunge towards Barry. Jaxon fired a warning shot, the bullet sparking as it struck the ground inches from Willis's feet.

"I said, drop it!" Jaxon's voice was a dangerous growl, the amusement was gone, replaced by cold determination.

Willis froze, realizing he was out of options. With a defeated grunt, he let the hook fall to the ground. Jaxon moved quickly, kicking the weapon aside before roughly grabbing Willis's arm and yanking him to the ground.

"Man, I wish I carried some handcuffs," Jaxon shook his head, his gun still pointing at the man, "You must relate to this, right?"
