Connor, who was standing in Greg's arms, stiffened when he heard Silphie's voice. The doctor instinctively pulled away from his fiancé and grabbed Sora to hide her behind his back. The little omega complied but stuck her head out to look around, oblivious to the sudden change of mood. The tension in the room was intense and Connor was the first to break the silence.
"If I ask you to forget that you saw her today, will you do it?"
He turned to look at the one who had temporarily taken over the head of the Skinwalkers after her husband retired. Connor's coat was closed, hiding his body and the man looked nervous. Silphie peered as his hands clenched on the fabric until his knuckles turned white and the witch understood that he wasn't yet ready to talk about the child whose aura changed from a playful little wolf to a shy toddler. She sighed heavily and gave him a reassuring smile.
"I'll do it, but I hope that someday you'll trust me enough to talk about her."
