Chapter 3.1

First day and I already messed up. First up, we have Spencer, next the Lucas guy, then Christina, Chelsea, and that other guy who looks at her weirdly.

"Listen, we don't have much time but I'll look for her while the rest of you go with Christina to the next destination," Lucas says with conviction.

We nod our heads and split ways. I look back to see him walk off and faced forward.

Oh right! I nudge the elbow of the person walking beside me and ask, "What's our next location?"

He removes one of his earphones and say, "IT Room." He then walks off to the front while putting his earphone back.

An IT room huh? Well that's splendid.

We proceed to walk to the innermost part of the building. The hallways are quite wide with occasional rest places with vending machines and an open view.

The sun is shining to the left. I check my watch and it's still 2:13pm. That means we only have 47 minutes left for the next task. Worse, it's in a computer room so we might have some coding to solve.

We arrive to the room quietly. The computers are all turned off except for one in the middle with a pixelated neon smile.

"Hey Trace! Come over here!" Yelled one of our teammates.

I look over to see who it was and voila, it was the guy I previously asked.

We gather around him and the computer, waiting to see what he does. Since I walked behind, I struggle a bit to be able to see the screen from all the heads blocking my view.

"Give me a pen," Trace demands. Almost everybody brings out their ballpens.

I hear rapid typing of the keyboard. I look around and see thatbthe rest of my classmates are focused on what's happening. I look for Christina and see her turning on one of the computers.

Just in time, Trace leans back on his chair, tilts his head and says, "Close. Go to 3, 6, and 9."

We stand there confused on what he meant.

He stands up and says, "What are you standing there for? Go now!"

Everyone goes everywhere in an attempt to avoid Trace. However, I ask him, "What do you mean by those numbers?"

He looks at me, fixes in glasses, and says, "Go to 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. Got that?"

He storms off the room with us still bamboozled on what to do.

"He says to go directly to the left, right, and front of the computer," Christina says. The rest of us understood quickly so I go to the one in front. I don't understand these coding things at all but I'll see if I can help.

I watch as they turn on the computers. We were so excited until the login came up. It was another code.

"Trace! Help!" They run outside to look for him. I shake my head, it's too late.

I turn my attention back to the screen to look if there's any hints on the screen or around the computer.

"Excuse me." I duck underneath the table to look for any clues but there were none. I look behind the computer but there were also none.

Sighing, I begin to click randomly on the screen if ever something happens like a secret button or something.

Just as I click something, I hear the door behind us opening and it was Trace. By his shoulder was... Lucas?

"Hey bro what happened?"

"Bring him to the clinic! Why did you bring him here?"

He looks beaten up with blood coming out of his mouth. Blood? Why would there be blood on him? What happened?

"Chelsea..."

We quiet down to hear what he is about to say. Chelsea, what happened to Chelsea? Wasn't he looking for her?

He gurgles on his bl**d before saying, "He got Chelsea..."
