When the Rain is Made of Teardrops

She stood there, unable to move while trying to absorb what really happened between them. It's been years but why did she feel like she was already too late? She forced her feet to take steps, to go to him but then, she slumped on the floor while reaching for his hand. "Taiki.. I'm here. I'm sorry. I didn't know. I didn't know that you were here. I didn't know—" She cried hard while trying to spit out everything she wanted to tell him. She kissed the back of his cold hand. She missed touching him. She missed him. She badly missed him. "I— Taiki.. I didn't really know. I'm really sorry. I'm sorry for making you wait. I'm sorry for forgetting you. Please, wake up. Please look at me again. Please, Taiki. Please, I'm already here." She continued as she cried harder.

"Fujiwara Itsuki, twenty-seven years old. He was the owner of the cloth shop and he had been missing for five months. He was last seen by her partner, Jung Gia and she was the one who reported to the authorities that he was missing. According to the autopsy reports, he was beaten to death and the forensic team concluded that there were two to three people who beat him up." The prosecutor explained while standing in front. She looked at everyone and saw how serious they were because the missing case escalated to a murder case.

"In the crime scene, there are blood marks on the floor, showing that he has been dragged from outside to the basement. There were three ruptures on his spleen, resulting in him losing a lot of blood and it is life threatening if it is not treated right away. This is the cause of his death and the investigation team is still looking for the murder weapon used." The forensic analyst said while pointing out the images of a ruptured spleen shown on the screen.

"According to Yamamoto Ren-san's statement, a police lieutenant and detective under the Lost and Found Department, she was on her way home when she passed by the abandoned cloth shop. It was eight in the evening when she passed by and heard something from the inside. She decided to walk inside as the doors were completely unlocked." The prosecutor added. She felt like her conscience would eat her alive for lying about her statements. She knew that no one would believe her if she told them that she saw the man's ghost.

The meeting ended after an hour and when they went out of the hall, she saw the man standing at the doorway. She thought she would not see him again but he gestured once again to her to follow him and she did. As long as it will help them to solve the murder case, she will follow him. Kenta saw her leaving the premises, so he quickly understood the assignment and followed her. She hailed a cab, so he got inside his car and continued to tail her. They arrived at a forest and she didn't bother if the mud was making her shoes dirty. The man stopped at a certain spot and she noticed that the soil was completely dry.

"Here?" She mumbled and she knelt to dig using her own hands. Kenta grabbed her wrists and she was surprised that he was there. He looked for a sturdy branch and he found one and used it to dig.

"I don't know what you're trying to do but if this is related to the case, I will start accusing you that you are part of this murder." He said while digging. She scoffed and got up, brushing off the dirt on her knees.

"Me? A police detective murdering someone I don't even know? Are you crazy? Why would I do that?" She was angry. Of course, he just accused her as one of the murderers. Who would not get angry if someone accused you like that? They stopped arguing when he told her to keep quiet because the branch he was using for digging just hit something.

He got his pair of white gloves from his coat pocket and wore it before pulling the iron pipes hidden underground. She looked around and saw the man standing a few steps away from them. He nodded, telling her that those were the murder weapons used on him. She bit her lips lightly and then, she took deep breaths. She took her phone out and dialed her brother's number to tell him that they found the murder weapons.

The authorities came and the forensic team quickly ran tests on the iron pipes they found and reported that those were the murder weapons. The man gave her a smile when the case was finally closed. The murderers were the man's two business partners for the cloth shop. They found out that they planned to take over the whole business since Itsuki and Gia decided to get married and will buy their shares for them to handle the shop alone.

She felt relieved that they already finished the case. She sat on the couch while taking her shoes off. It was a tough week for her. She felt drained, so she took a warm bath to ease her stress. She closed her eyes as she slowly laid inside the tub. After a few minutes, she felt like someone was watching her. She quickly went out of the tub and then, she grabbed the robe to put it on her body. She heard the doorbell ringing, so she rushed to her room to wear decent clothes and when she went outside, she just frowned because it was just him. She should have stayed inside her house instead.

"What do you want? How did you know where I live?" She asked but he didn't answer her questions. He gave a paper bag and she pulled out a new pair of shoes from it. She was speechless since it was the same shoes she wore when she went to the forest.

"I'm Kamiya Kenta, a police detective under the Crime Division." He introduced himself and she rolled her eyes while hugging the paper bag. He was almost four months late for his introduction. A smile formed on his lips while staring at her.

"Anyway, thank you for this." She looked away since she felt his stares on her. She turned around to close the gate but he purposely stopped her from going back inside her house. He gently pulled her closer and her eyes widened at their closeness.

"You're weird but I'm always curious about you. I want to know what you are thinking. I want to know what you are feeling. I want to know more about you. Will you let me?" She gasped at his boldness. She looked down and started thinking.

She couldn't remember what happened to her before. How would she tell him who she really was? She shifted her gaze on her when he cupped her cheeks. The way he touched her made her feel familiar. He moved closer to her and placed a soft kiss on her lips. She was confused. She wanted to push him away but she felt like she missed being kissed like that. She held onto the paper bag tighter and closed her eyes.

"Ren.." She looked at him and smiled while fixing her hair. They decided to go on a date that night and she was excited because they just finished the examinations. She froze on her spot when he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled down the towel that covers her naked body.

"Love, wait.. I thought we would go on a date." She whispered while accepting the kisses he was giving on her bare skin. She squirmed under his touches until she almost screamed in pleasure when he positioned his head between her legs.

Her body fell on the bed while pulling his hair tightly. The bedroom was filled with their sweet noises and the night passed by without them going out for the date. She hugged him tightly with her body trembling under him. They already lost track of time and she was exhausted when they finished. He covered her with the blankets and hugged her from behind. She was panting heavily, relaxing her body under the cold sheets.

"You owe me a date." She murmured with her eyes closed. He smiled widely and whispered to her ear how much he loves her. She smiled softly and nodded. Of course, she also loves him that much.
