Chapter 4

Tae Hoon wanted to curse so badly. Out of all the opportunities, why did he have to meet So Hyun now? Especially when he wanted to confess his feelings to Ji Hye. The moment he had been looking forward to had to be delayed because of So Hyun. It would be a lie if he wasn't upset.

"Looks like I've been bothering you guys?" So Hyun gave a long smile, as if she didn't feel guilty at all.

"What are you doing here?" asked Tae Hoon as he approached So Hyun.

"I was also looking for some reference books. What are you two doing, dating, huh?"

"Th-that's not true!" Tae Hoon hurriedly denied with his face looking panicked and flushed.

So Hyun managed to laugh. Hearing the answer straight from Tae Hoon's mouth, somehow made her both relieved and happy. In contrast to Ji Hye who had been looking glum with a slight look in the other direction. Tae Hoon was clearly astonished. Even though So Hyun had clearly expressed her feelings of love, So Hyun's seemingly calm and unconcerned attitude made him wonder if the declaration of love was really true or if it was just made up.

"Do you have time tonight? Why don't we have a drink together?"

Tae Hoon was quite surprised, he didn't know whether So Hyun was insensitive or intentionally interrupting his date(?) with Ji Hye. In Tae Hoon's eyes, So Hyun was clearly a pest that would ruin his relationship(?) with Ji Hye.

"Of course!"

Tae Hoon was about to reject So Hyun's invitation, but Ji Hye agreed. The three of them visited a Pojangmacha or tent shop located quite far from the library. They had already drunk ten bottles, and by this time Ji Hye and So Hyun were already drunk, while Tae Hoon was still okay because he had only drunk three glasses. Tae Hoon also didn't understand what situation he was in right now. He also didn't understand why Ji Hye kept insisting on drinking when he had told her not to.

"Do you love Ji Hye?"

Tae Hoon immediately shifted his attention when he heard So Hyun's question. His eyes rounded and his expression seemed strained with shock and panic.

"What are you talking about?!" Tae Hoon snapped in a whisper so Ji Hye wouldn't hear their conversation clearly. He was grateful that Ji Hye was currently drunk.

So Hyun smiled wryly. "Why? Just by looking at the way you're looking at her, I already know. Was I wrong?"

Tae Hoon looked away in embarrassment, and his face was already red. His brow furrowed, he was upset that his feelings that he had been hiding could be seen so easily by others.

"You're right. I like her." Tae Hoon replied quietly without taking his eyes off her.

"Have you confessed your feelings yet?"

"Not yet."

"Why? You have to say it so you won't regret it."

"You think it's that easy to say?!" Tae Hoon turned his head, snapping at So Hyun softly.

"It's easy, really. I was able to say it to you yesterday."

Tae Hoon really couldn't understand So Hyun's train of thought. How could there be someone who would casually discuss a woman who was liked by a man he liked. If Tae Hoon were in So Hyun's shoes, he would definitely feel very hurt.

"Do you really like me?"

"Hm?" So Hyun tilted her head and rested it on her palm. "Are you doubting my feelings?"

"That's not it." Tae Hoon looked down. He wanted to ask all the things that were stuck in his head, but he didn't want to offend So Hyun. That's why he just chose to remain silent.

So Hyun's gaze turned sad. Honestly, she knew what Tae Hoon wanted to ask her. So Hyun also had no intention of hiding her feelings for Tae Hoon. It would be good if Tae Hoon didn't have someone he liked right now.

"Your heart is yours. You have the right, to whom you will give your heart." So Hyun's words just now successfully stunned Tae Hoon into looking up with widened eyes.

"I do like you, but you already like someone else. What can I do?" So Hyun smiled sadly, then turned her gaze in another direction. "I'll just go as far as I can."

Tae Hoon really did not understand So Hyun's train of thought. Even if he tried to understand, it would only make him more dizzy. But, there was one thing that Tae Hoon realized from So Hyun. He just realized that So Hyun had a very strong heart. So Hyun turned her gaze back to Tae Hoon, and looked at him deeply with a sweet smile. "I'll keep chasing after you, so don't try to run away so I don't lose you."

Tae Hoon was stunned again.

"I told you the truth. That's why let's date," she continued.

"Are you crazy?!" Tae Hoon unconsciously snapped. He had been amazed by So Hyun's character just a few seconds ago, but her words just now made that amazement instantly disappear. Tae Hoon could only exhale a long breath. He was still wondering what the real reason was that made So Hyun like him. As he heard, So Hyun was someone famous. How could such a person possibly like a pathetic guy like him.

"You shouldn't like me..." Tae Hoon said as he turned his head, and he was immediately surprised to see So Hyun lying unconscious on the table. Once again, he could only let out a long heavy breath.

Oh my! Tae Hoon forgot something important. Right now he was the only one who was still sober, while there were two women who Tae Hoon obviously couldn't take care of two drunk women and deliver them to their respective homes easily. Again he could only exhale heavily.

Tae Hoon turned around as soon as his name was called. His gloomy expression immediately turned cheerful because his best friend, Hyun Woo was willing to come to help him.

"Hey, what's going on? Why them?" asked Hyun Woo who looked very confused and very curious. Tae Hoon really didn't want to explain the whole story to Hyun Woo because right now his head felt very dizzy.

"Hyun Woo, please take care of Ji Hye, okay? I'll take So Hyun to her house," Tae Hoon said as he lifted So Hyun's arm and wrapped it around his neck to carry her.

"Do you know So Hyun's home address?"

"Of course."

"How come?" Hyun Woo's eyes widened and he reflexively covered his mouth in shock. "Don't tell me you've visited her house?"

Tae Hoon just exhaled roughly. "I'll explain later. I'll ask you for a favor. I'll go first."

Hyun Woo couldn't say anything else because Tae Hoon looked annoyed and also in a hurry. So he just kept quiet and helped Ji Hye to leave. Meanwhile, Tae Hoon, who had managed to stop the taxi, immediately got in and went to So Hyun's apartment.

Fortunately, So Hyun's door had a fingerprint feature, so he had no trouble getting in. Once inside, he immediately took So Hyun to the room on the second floor and laid her on the bed. Tae Hoon left there and went down to the first floor. His eyes wandered around, looking at the luxurious interior of the room. Tae Hoon didn't expect that he would be returning to So Hyun's house for the second time.

The first time he was at So Hyun's house, he didn't pay much attention to the room because he was in a state of panic. Now he realized that So Hyun's apartment was very spacious. It was like a celebrity's house. Considering So Hyun was also a famous person, it was only natural for her to have this luxurious apartment.

Tae Hoon suddenly let out a rough breath and rubbed his face. "What am I actually doing here?"

This was far different from his plan. He had thought he would have a nice date with Ji Hye, then tell her how he felt. But the variables had changed since So Hyun arrived. Tae Hoon didn't understand why things like this happened to him. No matter how much he thought about it, he had no memories of So Hyun at all.

Then why did So Hyun recognize him?
