Chapter Four

Ann was sitting next to her candleholder with tears hanging by the thread on her eyelids fighting the feeling of disappointments that were swamping her heart membrane. The truth is, almost rupturing it.

She picked up herself together and started compensating for what John did taking all the money she had, and she did so with determination not to fail or surrender the fight against the screwed-up life she had no matter what, keeping the house together from falling apart was her priority as she was the glue to it all but she needed to get some shuteye and pick up her strength and see the light of new day dawn.

Let’s see why Ann fell for John. Their story was very normal for our story so hang tight for the flashbacks. Ann fell in love with John from the first moment she laid her eyes on him. He was a handsome good looking young man with a fierce full look on his face, getting into troubles and fights as he was a trouble maker and she liked that and she knew he was trouble and that it was a big mistake but yet her love for him clouded her judgment as she thought she’d be able to change him but little that she knew. Time passed by and she would just sit across the table in the bar that he used to hang in, hoping desperately that he would one day notice her existences eventually he did and came by and sat with her, long story short they got together and tied the knot after a while and they moved into their own house where they’re living now.

With no further details to this, they had their first-born Alex, and Ann was filled with joy to the grace she had and was very happy believe it or not.

Days swung by and her John gotten worse than before and she tried the best of her ability to do something but yet nothing changed.

Now you have a flashback not a very interesting one true but hold on and let us see the present. John's situation with alcohol and drugs rapidly escalated as the effects of the chemicals is starting to show signs, excruciating headaches and also, he started having painful seizures.

All signs told John to stop what he was doing to his body but no he decides to continue with his path. Not caring of the consequences of his actions that always manage to scar through Ann’s heart.

John continues to use and sell his drugs with no desire to intervene in his son’s nor his wife’s life with the money he's packing from the deals that he makes. His addiction caught the best of him as he only using the money to buy some more drugs. He was living in his own bubble as Alex and Ann do not exist in his world which was full of rage and darkness. Life Is a tough path and Ann’s beliefs growing stronger in her prayers of a better life even though the actions of John indicate all roads lead to hell but that just didn’t stop her at all from canceling her beliefs. As my fingers hitting the keyboard to write this, I’m thinking what’s our purpose in this life and why do we chase our dreams or even have hope?! Can’t stop but wonder about this, that how can someone be so sure that salvation is to come. Well, let’s figure this out along the way together.
