"Dark mana makes the infected loyal to the mage who's magic has corrupted the other's mana, in both cases it was me." Nicholas explained.

"That much was obvious." Malcolm nodded. "We had all seen how the prisoner, without any regard for his own life."

"But what I found odd was when I touched you." Dion told Nicholas. "He attacked as soon as I laid a hand on you, I meant you no harm and yet he attacked."

"That is one of the flaws." Nicholas told his uncle. "That is also what happened with Uncle Glenn and his servants. Based on what I think might have happened, I passed out after the experiment, I was much younger, weaker. So he asked his servants to help me up since the prisoner seemed to be calm, and then the man attacked."

"But that was almost instantaneous, this time it took hours before the prisoner had recovered." Isaiah pointed out to his nephew.
