Knowledge and Mysteries

David glared at the approaching adversary, angered by his current predicament, it seemed this was the end of the road for him, although he wasn't bleeding he knew he was injured, but when all seemed blique, his tattoo that had been glowing for while now seem to dull, followed by a sudden flash of warmth, the warmth evidently replenished David's vitality, as it could be observed that the numbness in his body was gone, and his tetanized hand which almost looked charged, had return to it former pristine appearance.

Filled with this new vigor, David immediately conjured a shield with his astral energy, even Reigis activated along the barrier, David didn't think it will hold, and he didn't expect it to. His assumption was right, evident of the two distinct sounds that where heard immediately after.

[Tum...tum]

The barrier broke, and Reigis followed right after, although the lance's acceleration was decreased by only a tenth, it gave David time enough to barely avoid a direct collision with the tip of the lance.

David, now on his feet, immediately takes advantage of his air superiority, he flies very high intending to use the earlier lighting sword to strike the weak point of the guardian, predicting the guardian might launch it's lance at him he was prepared to capitalise on it and take that opportunity to counter attack.

Just as predicted, the guardian placed itself in a throwing stance, took aim and shot, the lance flew so fast it was as if it was powered by rocket engines, it quickly reached David, who skillfully avoided it. He flew towards the guardian, who was now unarmed, if it was intelligent, it would immediately realise how unwise that was.

The guardian quickly covered it's energy source anticipating the adversary's plan, David wasn't surprised, smirking slightly he whizzed past the guardian, appearing behind it.

The guardian seem to be confident in the toughness of the rest of it's body, all it need to do was to tank any attack David might perform while waiting for his lance to fall back to him, for entities like them, even split seconds of weakness could be detrimental.

The guardian's assumptions were unfounded, his golden alloy arm didn't boast much resilience against it's opponent, despite the golden alloy's earlier show of considerabily high tohghness, it was still pierced through by Davids lighting sword.

The guardian lost the fire in it's eyes immediately after the lance fell infront of it's motionless body, before completely turning off the guardian saw the tip of the lance which was greatly damaged, as if reassured, it's eye finally went dark, even the tattoos lost their gleam.

David landed behind the guardian, he felt his astral energy almost completely drained, he thought it could have been because of his mediocre control, but soon understood that it had something to do with the strange tattoos that appeared when he brokethrough to the 6th level, the tattoos were now glowing, and he could feel large amounts of astral energy draining away, but it seemed that the tattoos were regulating astral energy to heal his injury, autonomously.

"Quite a convinient technique, is it self created? "

The SAI inquired, breaking the silence as the area reverted back from an arena, surprisingly the guardians could be seen once more standing in their previous position, as if nothing happened justed now, they had no signs of battle, but the former brilliance could no longer be seen.

"Which one?"

David asked the SAI.

"The rejuvenating one"

The SAI answered.

"What if it's self created?"

David retorted with a hint of defiance.

"The emperor is... No, the sovereignty is willing to buy newly created technique for incorporation into the military, you could make a fortune"

....

"My apologies, I was trying to make a joke, haha"

....

David was confused by the interaction, even the real Dr. Henry never cracked jokes, why would the SAI want to crack jokes all of a sudden, David's confusion led to a short of words, he could only proceed in silence, even the SAI thought it was odd and didn't speak any further.

"What a sa.. awkward situation"

Weiss broke the silence.

"Do you recognise that metal"

David immediately asked Weiss, but before Weiss could answer, the SAI spoke first,

"I believe it's... gold... or atleast an alloy of gold"

David immediately retorted,

"I also thought the same, but it's too tough to have anything to do with gold".

"Indeed it is quite baffling"

The SAI remarks.

...

"Weiss, do you recognise it?"

David specified this time.

"Ofcourse"

Weiss proudly answered.

"Although it may look like gold, it actually isn't, it's true name is "Celestial Gundarium", It's an alloy of Aetherium and Gundarium, though I doubt you have heard of it, it is extremely rare and tough only second to Adamantite, I am surprised you were able to knock off such a huge piece, I am very impressed"

Weiss spoke without taking a breath, he was really enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge, and he didn't even forget to put in some bootlicking.

"I see, how much does it compare to Diamas in terms of toughness?"

The SAI probed, evidently curious, David was curious himself, interrupting to ask for insight on what "Diamas" was, the SAI ever so helpful replies Diamas is the word for diamond in the old language.

"Sir doesn't know, how am I supposed to understand"?

Weiss totally confused asked, but before he could get an answer they finally arrive at the center of the archive where stood a structure, resemblant of a catalog or computer of sorts.

[Welcome to the first Quintessential Great Archive, knolegde is power, cherish it, proceed to the information sphere for any further guidance]

A voice sounded as they got closer to the center, but the language was strange and incomprehensible, it spoke the quintessential language, "Pefectos", Weiss' consciousness stirs slightly, catching David's attention, but the attention was immediately diverted to a spatial crack that appeared from no where.

"Hahaha, finally I got in!"

"Pefectos" was spelt that way on purpose.
