As Jean led the way, she took John to a spacious room. Before even entering, John was able to sense the presence of six individuals through his observation haki.
Once inside, John immediately recognized a few familiar faces. Logan, Alex, and Scott were all present, along with two other kids whom John did not recognize from the X-Men movies.
As the two settled into the room, all attention turned towards John. He had already met Logan and Scott before, as they had come to the mansion to recruit him.
Apart from the two unknown kids, John was familiar with Alex and Bobby. He knew that Alex Summers, Scott's brother, was also an instructor like Logan. Although not as prominently featured in the movies, Alex possessed similar powers to his brother and John remembered him as Havok, a mutant with the ability to generate plasma blasts.
Iceman, or Bobby Drake, was another familiar face. John had seen his icy abilities in action, creating ice slides and freezing objects with a touch.
Jean began introducing the people in the room to John.
"This is Logan, one of the instructors at the school. He teaches professional combat," Jean said.
"I thought the school's policy was peace-related," John said. Before the movie X-Men: Apocalypse, Charles didn't have any combat teachings in his school. He would only help the kids train and control their abilities.
"Hmm," John noted the changes in the plot.
"No, that was before. But self-defense is very important. Learning how to fight is necessary in a chaotic world," Logan chimed in.
John nodded in understanding.
"And this is Alex Summers, also known as Havok," Jean continued.
Alex smiled and extended his hand for a handshake. "Nice to meet you, John," he said.
"Nice to meet you too, Alex," John replied, shaking his hand.
"Professor told us about your powerful ability and your fight with that green monster. That's quite impressive," Alex said, extending his hand for a handshake.
"Thank you, Alex," John said, shaking his hand.
"And you have already met Scott," Jean added further.
"Yeah," John said and nodded his head at Scott who too reciprocated in the same way.
Next, Jean introduced the two unfamiliar faces to John.
"These are two of our newest students, Laura and Jubilee," Jean said. "Laura has extraordinary combat skills, and Jubilee has the ability to control fire."
John smiled at the two girls and said, "Nice to meet you both, Laura and Jubilee."
Laura nodded and smiled softly, while Jubilee gave John an enthusiastic wave.
"What are you guys doing? Ability controlling? Combat training?" John asked curiously.
Alex nodded. "Yes, we were just starting up a combat training session. It's important for everyone here to be able to defend themselves and use their abilities effectively."
"We also have regular training sessions for honing our powers and learning how to control them.," Logan added.
John nodded his head,"That sounds really useful."
"Do you want to volunteer kid?" Logan looked at John and asked.
"Volunteer for what?" John asked.
"To spar. You seem to be a good fighter. I was going to ask one of these kids to volunteer to fight with me with their abilities and let the other kids understand how to use their abilities in fights," Logan answered.
"Sparring?" John wondered while observing the room they were in and whether it was safe to actually fight here. Well not for him but the other people present in the adjacent rooms.
'Should I just fight with my physical strength instead of Quake Quake Fruit?' John wondered.
To be honest he was quite excited to fight the Wolverine. After all Wolverine was one of his favourite characters among the X Men and now to fight him in reality, John was quite happy to do it.
"I'm in but let's not fight here. I don't think the room will hold up against my abilities," John answered.
"The room was created while that in mind. Don't worry, let's fight," Logan replied.
However John was adamant about fighting somewhere outside instead of in the room. Even though they could fight here and John may destroy the room with his abilities; but John knew that he was a guest here and he couldn't go destroying everything or mistakenly hurt anyone which may leave a bad impression of him.
"I understand your concerns, but I suggest we find a more suitable location outside. It will be safer for everyone involved," John insisted.
Logan chuckled and nodded in agreement. "Alright kid, I can respect that. Let's head outside."
The two of them along with Jean, Scott, Alex, Bobby Laura and Jubilee made their way to the training area, a large open field with green grass everywhere. There was no one nearby, no infrastructures either, just some trees and a small lake. It was the perfect place to test their abilities without any risk of collateral damage.
As they stepped onto the field, John could
Once they arrived, John took a moment to warm up, stretching his muscles and mentally preparing himself for the fight ahead.
Logan stood a few feet away, cracking his knuckles and stretching his own muscles, his eyes fixed on John.
"Alright, kid, whenever you're ready," Logan said, taking on a fighting stance.
John smirked. He knew that Logan was strong but he himself was no slouch either. John wanted to know, whether his destructive powers would prevail or Logan's healing factor.
Of course he was going to start the fight with his physical strength and Haki as he wanted to know where his pure physical combat abilities stand currently.
Moreover Logan had limitless stamina, but once John started using his Devil Fruit abilities, John felt that Logan would definitely be not his match.
As for his weapon, John decided to use it if the situation demands.
John saw this spar as a way to increase his combat experience and to properly apply his abilities in a fight.
