Chapter 25

One thing engraved in Leonard's mind was that if two people have very similar faces, God destined them to coexist. His chest then violently rumbled because of jealousy.

Calvino, who had lost his temper, immediately beat Leonard mercilessly, making his temples bleed.

Calvino even ignored Calista's hysterical screams, so Calista immediately ran and tried to block her brother's punch.

"Get out of my way, Calista!"

"Enough, Calvin. You can kill him!"

"This bastard deserves to be killed!"

"No, Calvin, you have misunderstood. If it weren't for Leo who saved me, today you wouldn't be able to see me anymore."

"What do you mean?"

Not wanting to explain, Calista immediately opened the coat wrapped around her body so Calvino could see her shirt that was out of shape and blood had started to dry out.

"And look at Leo's body!" Calvino's gaze followed Calista's gaze, which was locked on Leonard's body.

"Then bring him in and treat him inside!"

Calista shortly led Leonard into the living room. Calvino's punch must have been so hard that Leonard's face was bruised, and his temples were oozing fresh blood.

Noticing Calista's change in expression, Calvino's sturdy fingers then reached out to grab her chin so that their gazes met. And again, the scene that Leonard disliked happened again before his eyes.

"Is it too difficult to fulfil my request for this one, baby?"

"What do you mean?"

"I don't like seeing your tears."

Calista immediately wiped her tears roughly, then locked Leonard's gaze as if to say sorry. Leonard then clasped his curly fingers and showered her with a warm, soothing gaze.

"Is that man your brother?"

Calista nodded.

"It seems your brother doesn't like me."

'I'm sorry, Calista, for being jealous of your own brother.' Leonard whispered in his heart.

"Don't get him wrong. Calvin is used to protecting me. That's why he seems overprotective, especially when there are new people around me." Calista explained

"And are you comfortable being treated like that?" Leonard asked.

"Calvino does have the worst emotions but trust me, he is the best brother I have," Calista added.

Leonard immediately flashed a smile then rubbed the top of Calista's head affectionately.

"Don't move too much! I'm treating your wound." Calista warned.

Seeing Leonard grimacing in pain, Calista stopped applying for the medicine.

"It hurts, huh?"

"It's okay, baby. This wound is nothing."

"I'm going slowly."

Calista accidentally caught a stab wound in the left abdomen. She immediately covered her mouth, and then her gaze turned to a pair of black eyes, which were also looking at her with a deep gaze.

'How could I not notice it? Leo must have been in pain when I hugged him so tight. Stupid, stupid, stupid.' Calista muttered in her heart.

Unable to hold back the tears that flowed freely down her smooth cheeks.

"Baby, what are you doing, hum?" Leonard asked as he gently caressed Calista's cheek.

"Sorry," Calista whispered in between sobs.

Leonard immediately took her in his arms. His fingers moved up and down along her slender back, trying to convey a sense of peace.

"I'm okay, baby. Please don't be like this."

"I'm sorry, I really didn't know that your stomach was injured… a stab."

"Hey, look at me!" Leonard's fingers reached out to grab Calista's chin so that their gazes met.

"I'm fine, baby. This wound is nothing. Let alone a wound. I'll give my life to save you."

"Hush, don't say that again. If you sacrifice your life for me, then who will take care of me later?"

"I will always take care of you because I am… your loyal guard."

Calista suddenly put on a happy smile and then briefly kissed Leonard's firm lips. She then asked him to lie down. Her tiny fingers began to unbutton the shirt, making the owner wonder.

"Baby, what do you want to do?"

"Shut up! Your wound is severe and must be treated immediately."

Leonard nodded. He let her tiny fingers dance on his sturdy skin. At first, he enjoyed every touch. Still, when the medicine started to drip, he then gripped the edge of the sofa tightly. The treatment made his skin burn.

"Enough, baby, I can't stand it anymore." Leonard's voice was full of requests.

Calista stopped her movement and then unexpectedly brushed her lips along Leonard's firm lips.    

"You're really good at tricking your patient."

"I'm not a doctor."

"You're not but, you're my personal doctor."

Calista's eyes immediately narrowed perfectly.

"Personal doctor?"

"Hmm, my love doctor," said Leonard while glancing flirtatiously.

Undoubtedly, his ignorant attitude was rewarded with a pinch along his stocky arm.  

Without the two of them realising it, a pair of brown eyes continued to stare at them. It wasn't like he didn't like seeing his beloved sister happy, but it's just that the man wasn't the right man to be by her side.

Leonard's dark past and bad behaviour make Calvino always worried about the closeness of the two. Finally, with wide steps, he approached the two.

"Calista,"

Calista immediately turned his head.

"Yeah, Calvin."

"Give this to him and tell him to stay here but remember…only for tonight."

Calista immediately got up from her seat and approached her brother.

"What do you mean by staying here?" Calista whispered.

"Listen, Calista. It's getting late, so just let him stay here until he gets better, so we don't have to owe him anything." Calvino's gaze narrowed at Leonard.

"But, Calvin."

"Obey me, just take him to the room quickly!"

Shortly after, Calvino sat on the sofa, spoiling his eyes with television shows. The corner of his eye glanced at Calista, escorting Leonard to the room.

"Don't close the door!" Calvino shouted, which was showered with disapproving glances.

'Watch out, Calvin. You've embarrassed me in front of Leo.'

"Your brother is naughty too."

"Hmm."

"But he is also good."

"Never mind, don't talk about it. I'm here to help you change clothes."

"No need, baby. I can change myself. You better take a shower and get some rest."

"Really?"

"Yeah, baby," Leonard replied while rubbing the top of Calista's head.

"If you need anything, just call me. I'm in the living room."

"I asked you to rest, baby. Why are you back in the living room?"

Calista rubbed Leonard's arm affectionately.

"I need to talk to Calvino,"

After that, Calista immediately walked out of the room. However, a firm hand stopped her after only a few steps

"Wait, baby!"

"Do you need anything?"

"What about Calvino? Where is he sleeping? I'd better go home."

"Don't mind him. There are still vacant rooms, but they haven't been cleaned yet. You can sleep anywhere."

"For sure?"

"Yes, baby. Oh, don't talk about Calvin any more. Change your clothes and go to bed quickly." Calista replied.

"Come here! I wanna hug you first."

Calista hugged Leonard back tighter, making the owner moan in pain.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you."

"Hey, why is your face turning gloomy? I don't like to see your beautiful grey crystals in sadness. I'm fine, baby."

Leonard hugged Calista's body tighter. Even though it hurt him, he still held it in.

"Have a good rest, baby, don't forget to take a shower first."

"Of course, honey," Calista immediately kissed Leonard's firm lips.

"Good night, honey."

"Good night too, baby," Leonard replied as he courted Calista to the door.
