CHAPTER 6

<p>Jessica POV<br/> <br/> I feel so worn out, thanks to the pile of work I had to finish back there at the office. Being a secretary in that company is tiresome. My boss seems to derive pleasure from seeing me work myself out though it's worth the pay.<br/> <br/> During the day, I was so anxious about Crystal. I never knew she had become a part of me to this extent. I couldn't even concentrate on my fiancé who visited today at the office. What a weird girl.<br/> <br/> I sighed with relief as the flowers which decorated our home came into view. I wonder if that friend of mine is around; I thought as I parked in the garage. Stepping out, I came into view with Williams walking towards me with a keen smile planted on his lips his deep dimples taking their place perfectly making him look awesome. I wonder what brought him here today hoping it isn't what I'm thinking.<br/><br/> "Hey Jess" He greeted revealing his white set of teeth.<br/> <br/> "Hi Will" I replied.<br/> <br/> "How have you been?"<br/> <br/> "Not bad"<br/> <br/><br/> After the exchange of friendly gestures we just shared, I ushered him inside the residence only to meet the shock of a lifetime.<br/><br/> Crystal's POV<br/> <br/> I'm too excited today. The joy brewing from my insides won't hold me in place. Thinking of a way to break this awesome news to Jess, I decided to set up a mini party for just the both of us. She's been more like a sister to me. I wouldn't ask for anything more because she is the best.<br/> <br/> Setting the dining table, I heard footsteps approaching then the door creaked open revealing Jess and my ex or should I say my past because it is all in the past now. I could see the surprised look on their faces.<br/> <br/> "Come on in guys" I ushered them in.<br/> <br/> "Wow! This is awesome girlfriend" Jess exclaimed, beholding the dishes on the table.<br/><br/> <br/> "This is nice Crystal" Will also complimented.<br/> <br/> "Thanks, guys. You are welcome and before any other comment, let's eat " I told them not failing to notice the haste in their action.<br/><br/> They both rushed, taking a seat each on the table with hungry gazes fixed on the sumptuous meal I just prepared before digging in. After a brief moment of silence between us, I spoke.<br/> <br/> "I prepared this meal to relay what happened today" I broke the silence.<br/> <br/> "Come on Crystal where are your table manners huh?" <br/> <br/> There she goes again cautioning me like my mum.<br/> <br/> "Jess let's allow her to break the news to us besides you know Crystal won't just do this without something lurking behind" Will supported me.<br/> <br/> Jessica POV<br/> <br/> After Will's words, it dawned on me that today was supposed to be Crystal's interview. I felt so drawn to the food that I forgot my senses. Crystal has always been a good cook and I must say she got me this time again.<br/> <br/> "Oh my! I'm sorry dear I forgot" I said not failing to notice her fallen expression.<br/> <br/> "But how could you Jess?" She asked sounding displeased.<br/> <br/> I thought of an answer to give her but found none. I feel guilty right now. How could this meal reschedule my brain?<br/><br/> Crystal's POV<br/> <br/> "I got the job" I announced, surprising the duo.<br/> <br/> "What?" She screamed.<br/> <br/> "I said I got the job" I repeated.<br/> <br/> Jess ran towards me without blinking twice, wrapped her hands around my waist, pulling me into a tight embrace. I reciprocated as tears of joy kept streaming down our faces. I sighted Williams looking lost in our embrace.<br/> <br/> "I never knew your so-called God cherishes you this much Crystal" Jess whispered the words into my ears as I just let out a chortle.<br/> <br/> After spending some time in each other's embrace, we parted the hug and then burst into a fit of laughter leaving Williams out of the contest.<br/><br/> "What are you guys talking about? I am lost" We heard Williams' voice.<br/><br/> <br/> Williams' POV<br/> <br/> Looking at both of them right now kept me remembering the past. I remembered how close we three were until the unexpected happened.</p>
