"Sir, I found something!" Josh shouted from the living room of the Cullens' house.
Shadow and the woman wearing the crow mask approach Josh, and Shadow asks him, "What is it?"
"There, sir, is an oddly placed pile of clothes on top of the table," Josh said as he looked at the clothes.
Shadow approached the clothes, while Josh followed him, and the woman wearing the crow mask stayed behind them, recording everything live.
Shadow took one of the clothes and inspected it. He then said to Josh, "Is there anything useful that we can get from this?"
Josh then took one of the clothes as well and smelled it. He then turned towards Shadow and said, "Yes, sir, I caught a scent, but I'm not sure if it was our target."
Josh's ability was that he could smell the scent of everything and trace it wherever it went. This made him the second in command in the Daggers division.
Shadow then asked, "Where does it lead?"
Josh then smelled the clothes again. He then said, "There are two locations. The strong one came from the west, and the other, a faint one, came from the north. Where should we go first, sir?"
The bald leader, Shadow, seemed to be contemplating something. He took a glance at the clothes again and said, "What about the wolves? Where are they?"
"They're in the east, sir," Josh answered while looking at the information they had gathered over the past few days.
'Weird, I thought he would seek some help from the wolves, but he clearly did not,' Shadow thought while staring blankly at the clothes.
He looked at Josh and said, "Status report."
Josh nodded and went to inquire about the situation. After a few minutes, he came back and reported to Shadow, "Sir, there's nothing in the perimeter, no humans, and even no wolves. This area is empty."
Shadow nodded at him and, after thinking for a while, made his decision: "Let's go to the strongest scent first, let's go west."
Josh nodded and let out a loud whistle. The other members of the Daggers turned their attention to him, awaiting instructions. He then made a hand gesture, and they quickly departed from the Cullens' residence, leaving it empty and meticulously organized, as if nothing had occurred there.

Meanwhile, in an empty clearing covered in snow, the entire place appeared cold and devoid of life. It was a harsh environment where no ordinary humans could ever survive. However, in the middle of the clearing, a man could be seen meditating with his eyes closed, facing the snow-covered mountain in front of him.
The man was wearing a plain black robe and black long clothed pants, bare chest, bare feet, and letting his black hair that was as dark as the night loosely as well, making his appearance more mysterious, yet intimidating. This man was indeed Mikael; he had just arrived here after searching for a suitable place multiple times. Eventually, Mikael chose this place because it was empty, yet spacious enough for an all-out battle.
This place was far in the north, near the Canadian border. Deep within the woods, right at the base of a snow-covered mountain, the place where he currently stood was completely covered in snow. Upon arriving at this location, Mikael stood facing the mountain, admiring its majestic snow-covered peak. He then took out his sword, the Divine Heavenly Demon sword, and plunged it into the ground. Afterward, he assumed a meditative position and closed his eyes, seemingly waiting for something.
...
Meanwhile, with Shadow and his Daggers division, they arrived at a house not far from the Cullens' residence.
Shadow stood at the entrance of the house, seemingly inspecting it to check for any signs of life. He then asked Josh, "Is this the place with the strongest scent?"
Josh nodded and said, "Yes, sir. This is the place."
"The two of you, follow me and enter the house, and for the rest of you, check the perimeter," Shadow declared with an authoritative tone to his Daggers members. Shadow, Josh, and the woman wearing the crow mask then entered the house.
The members of the Daggers nodded and immediately dispersed to their chosen locations for scouting, checking, and reporting if they found anything. After the three of them entered the house, they cautiously stepped into the area with great care, fearing that there might be a trap waiting for them.
After a few minutes of searching the house, they ended up in the kitchen. Shadow then said, "It would seem that this is our target's house."
Josh nodded in agreement and said, "Indeed, sir. I found his scent in one of the rooms that appeared to be his bedroom, though there seems to be a scent similar to ours."
"It's highly likely that the scent was from his mate, sir, but there are no signs of her," Josh said in a disappointed tone.
"We're not here for his mate, go search again," Shadow ordered, and Josh nodded in agreement with his command.
But before Josh could even begin his search of the house again, the woman from the Eyes division said, "Sir, there's something beneath you."
"Hmm?"
Shadow glanced beneath him, furrowing his eyebrows, followed by Josh, who was taken aback by his sudden discovery. Shadow and Josh then took a closer look by squatting, while the woman just stood in her position, not moving at all.
They inspected it for a few seconds, and then Shadow said, "It seems that this is a drop of blood, but it's already dried, so there is no smell coming from it."
Josh nodded in agreement. Shadow then said, "Go get some water and pour it over the blood."
Josh stood up and went to the sink to fetch some water. After he filled a glass, he returned to Shadow with it in his hands. He handed the glass to Shadow and then Shadow poured a little onto the dried blood on the floor.
After he poured the water, they were immediately assaulted by the scent of blood that was full of vigor and seemed endless to them. The three of them immediately had a greedy look in their eyes, but as experienced vampires, they managed to hold back. Shadow said, "Unbelievable, I've never seen this kind of blood before."
"Indeed, sir, just a drop of this blood was as abundant as that of a virgin human," Josh exclaimed in a surprised tone.
Josh then tried to reach out to the blood, but Shadow held him back and said, "Wait, this blood might be a trap."
