Chapter 2: The Meeting
As I was riding into Forks with my motorcycle, I couldn't help but reminisce all that I've experienced over the years. Of course my goal of exterminating the Volturi going strong, but also the friends and acquaintances I've made over the years probably made who I am as a person to this day.
It was probably my meeting with Ben that changed my perception that not all vampires are bad, just the red eyed freaks are the bad ones for preying on humans.
'Anyways, I gotta find this Uncle of mine soon. I can't stand this piss poor town, I mean, has all the rain clouds on the continental US come to this place cause golly this could be the next Atlantis if it keeps raining like this." I thought as I drove over a puddle of rain water, creating a huge splash.
Coming from Canada where it was mostly snowing, rain was a familiar yet unfamiliar concept as I could deal with the cold but not all this water.
I first drove to the local police station to see if this guy was still living in this wet and damp place. Me being new, I didn't know where I was going so I had to ask a local resident, which luckily, one was around as I drove around.
So, I pull over right next to the now surprised dude and got off.
I then started to talk.
"Hey dude, uhh, suppose you wouldn't mind helping a person out and give directions would ya, I'm kinda new here." I asked nervously cause it had been a long time since I had spoken to a normal human and the scent of human blood surprised me a bit before getting back into control.
"Uhh, yeah sure no problem, where are you headed?" He asked after he gotten over the fact that a stranger just talked to him. The guy seemed like a chill dude, probably just headed back from school from the looks of his stuffed backpack.
'Maybe I should go back to school?' I thought before shaking my head and answered his question.
"Yeah, I'm headed to the police station, know where that is?" I asked
He looked at me strangely for a while, probably thinking why a newcomer would go to the police, but just shook his head and answered.
"Yeah, you just gotta head down this road, turn on your first left and then on the second right and you should be there." He answered.
"Cool, thanks a bunch, we'll gotta get going, see you around." I said adjusting my helmet and mounting my bike. I drove off while he gave a wave and I have a short wave of my own.
'Huh, I guess people here are nice to newcomers, wasn't like that in Alaska where they questioned me 24/7. Anyways back to the task on hand' I thought as I revved up the engine and drove to my destination. I didn't even want to think of the smell of human blood as I didn't want to go back to those dark times where I feasted on humans for a while, bad ones, but humans none the less.
A couple minutes later, I arrived at the station where as you would expect, cop cars littered the driveway. It was a pretty intimidating site, if you weren't me who battled and killed vampires for three years of his life. Anyway, I parked my bike in the civilian section of the parking lot and started to head inside with my helmet in my arms, have to avoid it getting stolen cause it's too precious to be bought with money as t was my dad's, plus I'm running low on cash at the moment.
When I made my way inside, I felt pairs or eyes lock on me instantly, probably because of the new face. I ignored it though and made my way to the front desk, where a plump police women was doing something on her computer. When I reached the desk, she looked at me for a second, then went back to he work on the computer. So, I took the lead and started the conversation.
"Hello Officer, how's it going?" I asked but received typing sounds on her keyboard as a response.
After waiting a while, she stopped her work and finally replied to me.
"Sorry about that kid, I had to complete a report and was almost done. Now you can ask your question." She said and I just shrugged and continued what I came here for.
"No problem, I'm new here and I heard I have relatives in this town so I came here to meet them." I told the lady as she already brought out the town registry.
"Any phone numbers or emails?" She asked and I just shook my head as I knew none of those.
"Ok then I'll need a name then and see if we find them in the registry." She asked and I hooded.
"For sure, his name is Charlie Swan, I heard he was a resident here so I came to find him." I told the lady, who now, along with everyone in the room were looking at me weirdly.
The lady just looked at me for a while before asking a question of her own.
"Sorry to ask you this, but what is you relationship with Chief Swan may I ask? It's not everyday a resident, a new one at that, asks for the Chief of Police."
'Chief of Police? I guess this Uncle of mine is a big shot here huh?' I thought before answering.
"Yeah, he is my uncle, now could you tell me where he is, I'm kinda starving after a long ride." Which I was as I was now slowly noticing the human blood in this room and needed a burger or at least animal blood to satiate my hunger.
"Sure, we just need proof of identification as well as proof of family relation and we can tell you." She asked and I showed her my drivers licence I got years back as well as a photo of my mom, dad and I I kept as a wallet pic to never forget their faces. She just looked surprised when she saw my photo but shook it off and proceeded to enter in all data I gave her. After that she gave me an address and phone number and I headed out.
I put on my helmet and got on my bike. I inputted the address into the gps I got for my bike like a year ago and started to ride while the gos was navigating routes.

3 minutes after Derek left.
The police woman who tended to Derek just sat their as he stared at his back, figuring out if what he said was a lie dispute all the paperwork he gave.
"Is it true Sasha? Is that kid really Chief Swan's nephew? You know what happened to his sister so how was it possible that she could be alive and with a son at that?" Asked one of her co-workers as Sasha started to type in Charlie's number on her phone. After 3 attempts at calling, she just put down the phone and sighed as she put all the complicated things for later.
"I don't know, but all I do know is there is something going on that's too big for both of us to handle, maybe the entire police station, so just leave it and let the Chief handle it.
The co-worker nodded and just went back to his work. After re-organizing papers for a while, he suddenly asked a question.
"Isn't the Chiefs daughter coming home today as well? I wonder what the reactions will be about a long lost cousin and nephew." Chucked the co-worker as he went back to work.

As I drove to my Uncles place, I kept wondering what sort of reaction he would have when he sees me and k ones who I am. After finding out what my parents were that night, my mom told me she ran away from home shortly after the werewolf attack to not implicate her family. It was then she met my dad who was also running away and naturally became a couple as my dad imprinted on her and they were both wolf like monsters.
Anyway, I know for sure my uncle would be saddened for my mothers death as from the stories, I knew they loved each other, as siblings of course. I don't know much from my dads side as he never mentioned anything other than being from the Quilute tribe here in Forks.
I had these thoughts as I slowly drove into the street where the address was and spotted a house, which was probably Charlie's house, which currently had visitors seeing that there was an orange truck and two other Native looking people with their long hair and copper skin talking too a white guy and a girl around my age. I could see the dad's, I presume, were great friends with their play fighting while the kids, the boy and girl around my age, were more socially awkward. When you hunt for vampires, observing just comes natural to you, coupled with wolf instincts and plain common sense you see these things now and then.
Anyways, as the group had their conversation, I made my presence known as I pulled up to their street and parked while I turned off my engine. The group stopped their play fighting and conversation as they paid attention to the newcomer which was me.
I took off my helmet as I talked to the white guy.
"Hey there, you might know where I could find Chief Charlie Swan?" I asked knowing full well who he was, or 90% sure from the address and the iconic police moustache he pulled off.
"You're looking at him son, now, could you tell me why you are here at my house instead of the police station where you could see me other than my day off?" He said, slightly annoyed that I came to his house without prayer notice.
I knew it was my fault for not calling beforehand, but geez this guy needs to take a chill pill.
"Well Mr.Swan, do you know a lady by the name of Maria Swan by chance?" I ask, wanting to confirm if this was the guy before I reveal my identity.
When he heard me mention my mothers name, his eyes narrowed as he instinctively reached for his waist, probably where he holsters his gun while the second dude suddenly got serious. The other two folks didn't know what was going on as they stood back.
"Now son, I want you to tell me how you know the name of my sister, else we will have words at the station." He tried to sound threatening but being threatened by a human is way down on my list of things to feel scared about, I mean, starving takes higher priority than this. Deciding not to prolong this anymore, I just told the truth.
"Of course I would know the name of my own mother, can you be serious?" I joked
His eyes widened at my claim and before he started to ask anymore questions, I cut him off making my grand reveal.
"That's right, I'm your nephew, hello Uncle." I concluded as the poor man started to back away as his eyes widened in wonder and impossibility.
