In front of the mysterious and eerie castle, Loki and Sylvie stand hesitantly, about to confront the mastermind behind the TVA.
Swallowing nervously, Sylvie says, "Are you going to stop me from kicking the door open?"
"Are you testing me?" Loki shrugs, "Of course not."
"Very good," Sylvie replies, her eyes showing determination as she slowly approaches the door.
One step, two steps, half a step—until she's just an arm's length away. She starts walking in place, clearly apprehensive.
Sylvie looks embarrassed, not knowing what to do with her hands. She doesn't open the door.
"Are you alright?" Loki asks with concern.
"I'm fine, I just need a moment," Sylvie admits, conflicted. She's unsure if she's afraid there's nothing inside or if the beings within are too powerful for her to handle.
Just then, as if the castle's owner grew impatient, the gate opens automatically!
They exchange glances; there's no turning back now. They decide to move forward.
Crossing the threshold, they find a dilapidated hall with shattered walls, evidence of past battles.
Further along the passageway, there are two statues, three or four meters tall, wearing Kabuto helmets, their heads shaped like circular clocks.
Suddenly, the door slams shut, the noise startling them.
Meanwhile, on Queen Street, Peter Parker is startled and clings to MJ's arm, who smiles and reassures him.
"I understand your acting skills, and you understand my strategy," MJ says.
Ned, the chubby friend, looks disgusted, suddenly finding his popcorn unappealing.
Inside the castle, there is no light source. As the gate closes, it becomes pitch dark.
But then, "Hello!!"
An orange light bursts forth, and Miss Minutes' cartoonish figure fills the screen, greeting them with a smile.
In the darkness, this sudden apparition feels like a horror movie. Miss Minutes' once cute face now seems eerily creepy.
"Fake!!" Ned exclaims, shocked, throwing his popcorn.
MJ, pale with fear, screams and instinctively reaches out to hug Peter beside her.
But she grasped at the empty air and nearly fell to the ground.
Meanwhile, the little spider was hanging upside down from the ceiling, genuinely frightened this time.
MJ's fear vanished instantly, and she looked up at Peter with a warm, friendly smile.
"Come on, our brave Spider-Man, come down and let me comfort you."
Peter noticed the hair standing up on his arm and fell silent; he felt that coming down might be life-threatening.
On the dwarf star, Tony's eyes filled with curiosity.
He had always thought it was just a projection, but now he wasn't so sure.
In his opinion, Miss Minutes seemed more like a creation from a higher dimension, a special form manifesting in the real dimension.
Loki and Sylvie were also startled by Miss Minutes, quickly drawing their daggers.
Miss Minutes, unfazed, smiled and said, "Welcome to the castle at the end of time.
"Congratulations, you've overcome many hardships to get here, and he admires that."
Sylvie immediately lifted her chin and demanded, "Who is he!?"
Miss Minutes, with her hands behind her back, replied enigmatically, "A legacy."
Loki stepped forward, "We don't want vague answers!"
Miss Minutes blinked and added, "He created everything and controls everything! In the end, he alone remains at the end of time!"
"And now he wants to negotiate with you.
"Don't be quick to refuse. He has been making some very creative adjustments and has found a way to bring you back to the timeline without creating a time branch!"
"Oh, this is a very tempting offer!" Tony said with a playful tone.
The Dwarf King frowned. "I don't see any temptation in it."
Tony quickly explained, "It's not just about returning to the timeline, but doing so with future memories. Loki would essentially become a prophet. This time, no time branches would be triggered by altering events."
"With such an advantage, Loki could live exceedingly well, possibly even becoming a cosmic giant."
The Dwarf King nodded, finally understanding. "This is indeed a very tempting offer."
On one hand, the future was unknown, but on the other, the benefits were immense. If it were him, he would certainly agree.
Miss Minutes spoke confidently, "How about it? The Time Variance Authority can continue its work, and you can choose the life you want. Everyone's happy, right?"
Loki lowered his head and was silent for a moment. When he raised his head, his eyes were cold. "Do you really know what kind of life we want?"
Miss Minutes mocked him in a disdainful tone, "Stop beating around the bush. Don't you know why you're here?"
"The Battle of New York. You fought the Avengers not out of duty but for victory and dominance."
In the next second, Miss Minutes stretched her words, her voice as tempting as a devil's. "Loki, don't you want to kill Thanos with your own hands? The Infinity Gauntlet, the throne of Asgard—everything could be yours."
Looking at Loki with tears in her eyes, Miss Minutes smiled with satisfaction, then turned to Sylvie with a sympathetic tone. "And you, my dear. After all these years of running, all the freedom, despair, and loneliness you've endured, wouldn't you like to wake up every morning with only happy memories?"
Miss Minutes then dropped a bombshell. "How about two Lokis on the same timeline, living together forever? The king and his queen."
The conditions offered by Miss Minutes were so enticing that many viewers would find them impossible to refuse. Especially Loki and Sylvie, wasn't this what they had longed for all their lives?
Seeing the hesitation in their eyes, Miss Minutes added, "He can make it happen, don't worry about that."
Time seemed to freeze at that moment, with only the sound of their breathing breaking the silence.
In the end, Sylvie shook her head firmly, and there was only determination in Loki's eyes. "Everything I desire isn't truly what I want, but what he wants me to want!"
"From now on, we write our own destiny!"
Miss Minutes sneered, her tone dripping with condescension: "In that case, do as you like."
After speaking, Miss Minutes turned around and quickly faded away, leaving the space shrouded in darkness once more. This attitude of playing with others' fates at will was truly abhorrent.
In the world of DC12, the Joker grinned wickedly.
He despised fate—such a thing should be incinerated!
To him, only chaos and the little bat were truly intriguing.
Loki and Sylvie, unfazed by Miss Minutes's behavior, continued their journey toward the castle. After an indeterminate amount of time, they found themselves entering a round hall via a long corridor.
In this hall, there were four statues. Except for one that was shattered, the other three were of the sacred guardians with lizard-like faces.
As the two of them were examining their surroundings, a sudden boom echoed through the hall. A few seconds later, with a 'ding', an elevator door opened.
Inside the elevator sat a black man wearing a pale green inner tunic and a short purple robe. He reclined on a sofa, holding a green apple, and greeted Loki and Sylvie with a genuine, joyful smile.
"Exciting! You two are the same person!"
The man took a bite of the apple and smiled even wider. "Although a little unusual..."
Suddenly, his expression shifted from happiness to surprise as he exclaimed, "Wow, um, exciting."
As he uttered the last four words, his demeanor turned calm once more.
Off-screen, no one laughed at what seemed like a bizarre episode. Instead, a chilling sensation shot up their spines, making their scalps tingle.
