CHAPTER 16

**Three minutes later**

Damian got dressed in his outfit stepping downstairs to the field. Everyone was still waiting for the random girl that would be joining the dinner night. Getting to the field, he stepped on someone's toe mistakenly as the person let out a loud cry feeling the intended pain of the match on the toe.

"Aww aww...." I screamed out in pain about flaring up.

"So sorry dear it wasn't intentional." He apologized to me trying to massage my toe.

The voice sounded familiar but I didn't know whose face it was. The hands I felt on my toe was also similar to Damian's. I tried not to imagine anything silly tonight while I stopped him from being too dramatic.

"No problem, I'm fine just that it hurts a little."I said to the young man before me trying to take a glimpse at his face.

"I apologize again for my nonchalant behavior dear." He pleaded with me again while I nodded my head.

Trying to walk away from my table, Damian's suit clenched onto the tiny bead designs on my dress. He tried his best to leave but he noticed something was dragging him backwards. Damian felt frustrated and a bit embarrassed. He finally saw the reason behind the stagnancy in his movement. His suit was lying on the blossom of my dress. He came back infront of me while I looked at his face but the night was already dark and the darkness reflected on his face. The lights on the field didn't favour where I sat down. The figure before me was so familiar and I was wondering why he came back to me. I stood up to my feet suspecting he might be a pervert that wanted to take advantage of me at the field tonight.

"What do you want from me again? You better leave or I would be forced to scream for mercy." I warned him with a harsh tone.

"You're thinking too much. Your dress is holding onto mine and I can't leave if it does get solved." He replied me while I felt so embarrassed at my oblivious thinking.

I couldn't see clearly but I still managed to locate where the suit was hanging on at my dress. I tried removing and suddenly felt another hand ontop of mine.

"Let me help you." The voice whisphered to me in a deep low tone.

My heart started racing fast and I couldn't hold onto my suspicions anymore. I placed my other hand ontop of the hand on my right hand feeling the texture of his skin. The more my suspicions were getting familiar the longer I was getting even scared and uncomfortable. I felt like fainting and very anxious to know the gentleman before me.

"DAMIAN?..." I asked aloud as he drifted back a bit surprised I called his name.

"How did you know my name miss?" He replied me with a question trying to see my dark face.

I pulled out a part of his suit that was clenching on my dress immediately gasping for air. It was at this moment Rachel got attracted to our little mysterious discussion. She stood up from where she was sitting standing behind me with a candle she took from the table. The little light on it shone on my face as Damian stared at it surprised to see me. All these while he has been speaking to me and unable to recognize those familiar touches and voice.

"Oh my goodness, it is you master Damian. I can't breathe right now." Rachel joined excited to see his face.

"Y..yes it is me and I guess you also work at my father's cattle ranch." He said to her still stealing someglances from me.

Rachel nodded her head smiling because of the little attention he gave to her. I was still standing before him feeling very uncomfortable. It was really a strange moment between us and I didn't even know how to escape this scenario.

★★She's here★★

While we were still having some intensed situation between us, we got distracted by the voice of ma'am Emilia.

"Everyone she's here... let's welcome her." Mrs Robinson said aloud on the stage as her voice echoed at the field with the help of a microphone.

I turned my head towards the stage taking a seat because I really wanted to see the face of the stranger. Damian left immediately heading towards the table Laurel was sitting on with Anna. Rachel clenched onto me feeling so fearful that her prince charming would be stolen from her tonight. I tried my best in calming her down but it wasn't helping at all. She was being overly dramatic right now.

"Please keep calm Rachel." I whisphered

"I wish I can but I can't." She replied me.

A young lady with a blended hair color of brown and white approached the stage and her eyes were very attractive. She had cat eyes that showed off her brown pupils. Her lips were pink and looked soft from afar. She was looking like a goddess. Many wondered if she really existed and the men at the field were already talking about her. The lady before us wasn't our match at all because she looked very beautiful. Damian was also moved by her beautiful and he really loved ladies with an hour glassed figure. Laurel placed her hand ontop of his trying to calm down his nerves.

"She looks very beautiful more like a goddess but I wonder who she really is." Damian whisphered to Laurel.

"I'm lost too but she looks way younger than I thought." Laurel replied him with a low tone.

Mrs Robinson handed over the microphone to the young lady as she grabbed it gently putting underneath her mouth. Everyone couldn't wait to hear the beautiful voice underneath the mask. Almost all the females at the field were already feeling insecured by the beauty before them but that wasn't a case for me because I believed every woman is beautiful and gorgeous in her own way.

"Good evening everyone, I'm Angela Kristine the only daughter of the well known wine brewer Mr Wills Taylor." She said with a tiny melodious voice.

She left everyone's jaw dropped by the name she mentioned. Mr Wills Taylor was one of the wealthiest men in our city and the Robinsons weren't even up to them in terms of money. From the tip of her hair to the sole of her feet had gold's that were made of twenty four karat golds. She looking very gorgeous and no doubt the Robinsons were lucky to have someone as bouyant as she was in their home. Mr Robinson requested for the microphone from her as she handed it over to him. Her voice was everything to fall for and it was really intimidating.

"She has introduced herself better but she didn't say the important part everyone should be aware of. She's the one we have chosen for our only son Damian Robinson. Both would be having an arranged marriage soon." Mr Robinson said to the crowd aloud.

"Yes...Miss Angela Kristine is the rumoured fiancee of our son Damian." Mrs Robinson cuts in.

Damian rose to his feet surprised at the nonsense playing out before him. Laurel still hand her hand ontop of his as she tapped on his hand several times to call him to order. Damian sat down exchanging glances with Laurel. Laurel shook her head giving him signal to control his mood and nerves. I sighted Damian from afar and noticed he wasn't responding happily to the introduction his family had made. I suspected that he might not have been aware of everything that's the reason he reacted in such way. Most of the ladies felt a deep heart break by the news and cursed the night. I felt sad a bit but whatever happens was for the best for Damian. Kristine was the person that suits his family background and class. None of the proletariats could match up to that and all I did was wish them luck in my heart not like I had any choice.
