CHAPTER 17

After the dinner night was over, everyone started troopong out of the mansion having an earful tonight. Many were feeling heart broken and sad. Rachel had been crying ever since she heard the news that her prince charming was really going to be married some day. I somehw consoled her to sleep and pleaded with Elena to walk her home while I decided to go alone since her home was nearer to Elena's. About stepping out of the gate of the mansion, I felt a strong grip from behind as I staggered backwards. I didn't know the person that pulled me backwards forcefully and I was about screaming for help but a hand covered my mouth stopping me from doing so. I was dragged at a corner while I looked at the face before me. It was Damian and I was a bit startled. I was confused why he dragged me back and I wondered what he was planning now.

"Your fiancee is waiting for you inside the mansion master Damian so please let me go." I pleaded with him in a low voice still confused.

"Just keep shut Julienne. You saw me earlier and couldn't say anything. Guess you knew you were at the wrong afterall. You left the mansion the last time without saying anything but it wouldn't be the case today." Damian said to me while I looked at his face.

"I apologize for the other time but I have no business here anymore or you just wanted me to congratulate you over your alleged engagement?". I asked him while he looked at me frustratingly.

Damian shook his head fed up by my insensitivity. He dragged me to a secret corner at the mansion sitting me down. He sat next to me and I wondered why he was being nice now. I looked up to the hanging moon at the dark sky watching how the stars shined beautifully. Nature was really amazing and it calmed my mind a bit. Damian joined me in watching the sky and we both watched it merrily.

"I really needed someone to talk to about tonight and you're the one that flipped into my mind. I'm lost and I've no clue on how to escape the trap before me." Damian said to me while I looked at him.

"So you truly had no clue you were going to have an arranged marriage soon?". I asked him while he nodded at me.

"I curse tonight to be honest. It's really funny how it's only a mere servant at my father's cattle ranch that understands me. I don't even know who Kristine is even though I've met with her dad countless times." Damian said to me in a low tone which I watched him speak his mind.

I was glad he somehow confided in me tonight about speaking out his worries. Though I didn't know how to help him out but the did was already done. Luckily no one saw both of us talking if not I would he seriously dealt with tonight. I tried calming him down by changing the topic and I was glad it did help. We had such a long discussion and after we were done, he helped me out in escaping out of the mansion.

Emman saw me running out of the mansion and strangely he has been waiting for me outside of the mansion since the moment he noticed I didn't follow the rest to leave for our various homes. He first suspected I was in trouble but another thought made him think I was with mster Damian yet again. Pretending as though nothing happened earlier, I started walking home when Emman approached me. I gasped out aloud after having a glimpse of him because I thought it was really a ghost.

"Emmannnn...."I got out his name frustratingly after finding out he's the one.

"What? Is it because it wasn't our master's son Damian? I saw you earlier tonight and he helped you escape out of the mansion. You're having a secret affair with a man that's engaged." Emman said to me disgustingly.

I got very infuriated landing a slap on his right cheek. That was my first time laying my hands on Emman. It wasn't on a purpose but it wasn't my fault because he was really pissing me off these days. After slapping him on his cheek, I got myself and that was when I realized I was wrong. Emman left me behind walking away. I tried running towards him but I could no longer find him. I was fighting with my childhood friend because of Damian and I didn't appreciate that at all. I trekked back home feeling all worried and how to face Emman the next day.

★★At the Robinson's mansion★★

Damian entered back into the mansion heading upstairs to his bedroom when he heard voices at the sitting room. He found out his entire family were having some friendly conversations with Kristine and he tried leaving but was called back by his mum.

"Damian is here! Come son come and join us." Mrs Robinson said to him.

"He's feeling shy to face his fiancee tonight I guess. You don't have to worry I understand and these feelings will subside once the both of you gets married." Anna joined in.

Damian gave her a sterning stare while she looked away avoiding his wrath tonight. Damian sat next to Laurel on a couch looking at Kristine's face wondering the kind of girl she really was. She returned back the states with a smile that could easily sweep anyone beneath her feet. Damian felt no attachment for her even though he really tried to act like he was in love with her. He only hoped she doesn't fall in love with him because she would only end up being hurt and he didn't want any blames on him.

"You've been staring at her for a while now, do you like her?". Laurel whisphered to him.

"No I don't. I'm trying to look into her soul but still I feel nothing for the poor girl. This planned marriage coming up will never work between us." Damian replied Laurel with a low deep tone.

Kristine stood up from where she sat before heading next to Damian. She sat next to him, placing her hand on his. Damian was really surprised she did that and was surprised such a cultured girl was being so cheap. Laurel pleaded with him to comport himself through an eye contact and luckily he understood the assignment. He hates when someone gets so obsessive and irritating.

"I have only seen you in pictures sent by your father to my family but seeing you in person, I must say you're very handsome and good looking." Kristine appreciated his nice gestures beaming a smile at him.

"Thank you Kristine and I must also commend your looks too. You're beautiful." Damian replied her pretending to be look okay.

The Robinsons were happy the two kids were slowly getting to know each other. Sadly, Kristine was the only one in this relationship because it was obvious Damian's heart doesn't want her. After tonight's discussion, everyone retired to their bedrooms. Kristine was taken into a new room that was already prepared for her before her arrival. It was entirely a new bedroom launched for the whosoever becomes the wife of Damian. Damian returned back to his bedroom and had some warm bath before retiring to bed. Today was really hectic for him and each day he wakes up was going to be an assignment for him to pull up as a fiance of a strange girl he feels nothing for.
