On our way back as Leo and I roll up to the Turtle Cave, we notice an odd lump infront of the garage door. When the headlights of the Battle Shell illuminate the lump, we realize that it's a bruised and bleeding Casey Joans passed out leaning against the door of the garage.
In a panic, I jump out of the vehicle and run up to him. 'Thank the stars, he is still alive!' After checking his pulse, I pull him to the side so we can park the Battle Shell in the Turtle Cave. Then Leo helps me carry the unconscious Casey into the lair to lay him down on the couch.
It took almost two whole days before Joans finally woke up. During those two days, April wouldn't leave Casey's side. It was the first time I saw her spend the night here, and she just slept on a chair that she pulled close to Casey. Needless to say, Donny has been in a bit of a slump the entire time.
Of course April is the first one to notice Joans waking up, and hollered at all of us to join them in the living room.
Casey gave us the rundown of how that moron decided to try to take on the Purple Dragons headquarters all by himself just to get completely overwhelmed with how many were in the gang.
"You are such a shell-head!" Growled out Raph, "I told you that we should wait till everyone is on board."
Casey groans in pain as he trys to sit up but is only able to prop himself up on his elbow. He glares at Raph and yells, "And I told you that Angel can't wait!!"
This gets all our attention, 'I guess Raph left out some details when he told us what he knew while Casey was still unconscious.' I pondered to myself as I give Raph the side eye.
Leo gets even more serious then usual, "We can't help you if we are lacking information, Casey. We need to know everything that you know."
Joans heaves a big sigh, "Alright, fine. When I was a kid, those bastards torched my families store. They killed my dad and took my baby sister, Angel. For 18 years I have been looking for their hideout and now that I know where it is I can't just sit around waiting!"
Leo crosses his arms, "I see. We will help how ever we can but you need to heal first."
Casey starts to get worked up, "I just told you's that I can't sit around doing nothing!"
Raph chuckles a bit sinisterly before saying, "Well you should have thought of that before ya had your ass handed to ya."
Donny spoke up, "And now we know a bit more of what we are dealing with, so while Casey is healing, we can work out a plan." I nod in agreement and Casey just slumps back into the couch in defeat.
Mikey leans in kinda close to Casey's face, "And now you have a dope scar to impress the ladies." He says with a big grin as he pokes Casey's eyebrow that has a gash in it, making me muffle a chuckle.
As Joans yells, "Ow!" April slaps Mikey's hand away, "Okay, you guys have bugged him enough. Now he needs rest and relaxation. So, you all go on, shoo!" She says with a forced smile as she makes a sweeping motion with her hands, sending us away.
The turtles and I head off to Donny's lab to try to cook up a plan, unsuccessfully. The only thing we were able to agree on is that we need more information. So, we decide that over the next week the turtles will take turns scouting out the purple dragon's hq. While they are keeping busy, I'm on babysitting duty with April until Casey is better.
This is the worst I have ever seen him, we have to switch out all of his bandages every day. We even have to stitch up a couple the gashes covering his torso arms and legs.
I couldnt help but ask, "Stars above! What did those bastards do to you?"
Casey grunts in a bit of pain as I continue threading a needle through his skin to close up his wound. "These are from a twisted little bitch in the purple dragons. She is young for a gang member. She has really long braided purple pigtails and a black bandana covering her face. And she only fought with a whip as her weapon... Laughing that twisted giggle the whole time." By the end of his description Casey couldn't stop shivering. He looked me dead in the eyes, "I have pounded a lot of dragons into the dirt but none of them were like that bitch. She is a twisted little monster."
I give him a knowing smirk, "So the dragons have an ace up their sleeve, that's exactly why you guys got me." Making Casey chuckle a bit causing him to wheeze in pain.
April comes back from the kitchen with clean rags. Noticing that Casey has a pained face, she steps up to my side, "Mind if I take over? I might have a gentler touch."
I just roll my eyes at her assumption that I am hurting him and get out of her way. As I leave the two love birds, I head to my lab with some ideas. I walk up to the work bench and get to work. "First up, two katanas." I mumble to myself and I start scrolling through the different types of metals that I can choose from on the halo screen. I picked a tungsten-steel alloy for the bulk of my creations and I embedded power crystals in the handles for some added features.
When the synthesizer finally finished printing them out, I grab a blowtorch and heated up the blades to 590° Fahrenheit to give them a beautiful deep blue color. I repeated the process making two pairs of sais, two nunchucks and a bo staff. Heating them at different temperatures to make their colors match the turtles. Donny's staff was by far the most fun to build since I got very creative with the added features. I even made two metal baseball bats for Casey, but I skipped the fancy bells and whistles since explaining how they work would probably just go right over his head.
By the time I'm done it's the middle of the night and everyone is sleeping. I walk out into the main chamber and notice that April isn't there. So, I head over to Casey to see how his wounds are doing and I get another idea.
I kneel down beside Joans and extend my consciousness towards him to feel his life energy like I did with the plants in the forest. Once I made contact, I started flowing some of my energy into his. Mostly around where his wounds are the worst. "Holy shit it's working." I couldn't help but mumble to myself as I'm watching Casey's wounds heal before my eyes.
I quickly took an inward glance at my energy pool inside my body and noticed that I've already used half of it. "Looks like I won't be able to fully heal you in one night, but at least this is a good head start." I mumble to myself as I try to get to my feet, only to get very light-headed and almost fall down. "Well, shit... maybe next time I'll go slower when I'm healing." I scold myself as I wobble back to my room to pass out.
