CH:39 Upgrades

The next morning I wake up to quite the commotion going on in the main chamber. So I hop out of bed and start getting ready for the day. As I'm digging through my bags to find today's outfit all I hear is Casey screaming, "I think I turned into a mutant, guys! Are you freaking contagious or something?! Am I going to turn into a turtle now?!"

I couldn't help but burst out laughing as I grab a teal t-shirt crop top with my black stretchy jeans and my green ninja mask.

'So worth the extreme exhaustion. Maybe I shouldn't tell him that it was me and just keep healing him every night while he's sleeping.' The thought makes me maniacally giggle a little. 'On second thought, he would probably have a heart attack or something with how badly he is freaking out right now.' I shake the thought out of my mind as I grab all my new creations and head out to the main chamber, being exceedingly cautious as to not hurt myself with their extremely sharp edges.

Just before I head out of my room, the thought hits me that I should probably make special sheaths for the swords and sais since they can cut through stone. I turn on my heels and quickly walk back to my workbench.

I drop all the weapons on the edge as I quickly pull up the interface and pull out the same metal alloy as I used for the blades. Making sheaths that perfectly fit the weapons delicate curves. Within minutes they were already coming out of the synthesizer.

I grabbed my blowtorch and roasted the long sheaths to 590°F at the openings and went up to 650°F at the end. So, they faded from dark cobalt blue to a light blue at the tips.

I did the same thing with the smaller ones except at a much lower temperature, from 500°F to 400°F. So, they would look more bronzy red fading to a gold.

"Frickin perfect!" I couldn't help but praise myself at my fine artistry.

Since these ones turned out so well I decided to make smaller round sheaths for Donny's bo staff and Mikey's nunchucks as well, and making the colours match the weapons as I did before.

Just for the heck of it, I also made a cross section sheath for Casey's baseball bats so they will sit like an X on his back. Keeping the black tungsten metal unchanged so it matches the bats.

After an hour of crafting, I am finally done. So, with the weapons in their sheaths I head out to the main chamber.

I couldn't help but giggle as I walk out to quite the scene. Raph is trying to pin Casey down on the couch while Donny is trying to scan him. But, Casey is moving around too much to get an accurate reading. Leo is just standing back a bit with his arms crossed, watching the struggle unfold.

"Get off me, Raph! You will infect me even more with your turtle germs!" Casey literally screams in Raph's ear making him squint, a bit pained.

Donny heaves a big sigh before saying, "Hold still you bonehead so I can get a proper scan of your vitals."

Leo just shakes his head, "We need to find out what happened to you to make your wounds heal so much."

As I walk up to them I say, "You can skip the scan. That was me." As they turn to look at me puzzled, I continue saying with a smerk on my lips, "I had a few good ideas last night."

When the guys all see the armload of colorful weapons in my grasp they light up like kids at Christmas.

As I start handing out my creations I continue, "I made these out of a tungsten-steel alloy. Which is the strongest metal this planet has to offer. Plus I couldn't help myself and added a few bells and whistles." Realizing I still have a pair of nunchucks in my hands I look around and ask, "Where's Mikey?"

As Leo is inspecting the balance of his new blades he answers, "In the kitchen whippin up some breakfast." But before I could turn to head in that direction, Leo stops me and finishes saying, "You honor us with these great gifts, Ying. I have never seen craftsmanship to this degree before." Then he bows deeply and the other two turtles follow his example making me blush. To my surprise, even Casey dips his head in the same honorable gesture following the turtles example.

As my face is burning up I scratch the base of my horn and with a bit of a chuckle I say, "I'm really glad you guys like them but honestly the machines did the work. As I said before, I just had a few good ideas." I flash them a bright smile before I head off to the kitchen to find Mikey.

Just as I enter the kitchen, I get hit by a delightful sent. With a smile on my face and my nose in the air I couldn't help but ask, "What is this magnificent aroma?" It smells so good it even made my tail wag a little out of pure enjoyment.

Mikey just chuckles at me before he nonchalantly answers, "I'm just whipping up some eggs benedict with salmon infused hollandaise sauce."

I couldn't help but giggle, "Hehe, damn Mike. You are really stepping up your cooking game, eh?"

Earning me a smile over his shoulder, "You know it, angle cakes!" He finishes with a wink before he goes back to cooking.

Unable to wait any longer I had to ask, "Do you have a moment to pause for the cause? I made something for you."

He literally spins on a dime with sparkling round eyes and a grin from ear to ear, "You made something for little ol' me?!" He asks bursting with excitement.

"Yup! Call it an upgrade if you like." I say with a flash of my fangs as I smile while I hand over his new nunchucks.

I honestly didn't think his eyes could get any wider, but sure enough they did the moment the nunchucks touched his hands.

Mikey looks up at me with watery eyes, "Thanks, Ying. I will cherish these forever!" Then immediately snapping out of his reverie, he set the nunchucks down on the counter and spins around yelling, "My hollandaise sauce!" And starts aggressively stirring his pot.

I flash a smirk and say, "I'll leave you to it." And I head out of the kitchen to see the other three turtles showing their new weapons to Master Splinter.

With an approving smile Sensei looks at me and says, "It appears you are full of many gifts and talents. Seldom are weapons ever made to this level of perfection." He gives his beard tuff a stroke before he continues, "Although I find myself far more interested in how you treated Casey's wounds."

The entire main chamber goes silent after these words indicating that everyone wants to know the answer to this inquiry.

I nervously clear my throat before I reply, "Well the simple answer is that I shared my life energy, but I'm afraid the process might be too convoluted to explain properly." I pause to think for a moment before I continue, "Casey will need a few more treatments. It takes a lot out of me, so I can only do it in small intervals. If you would like to watch and keep an eye on Casey while I work, it would be greatly appreciated." I flash a smile as I start to walk towards the couch and everyone follows me over.

As I get down on my knees beside the couch Casey is laying on, he nervously chuckles a bit before saying, "I feel like a stinking science experiment."

With a serious straight face I look Joans the eyes and reply, "If you would like I can leave your body to naturally heal but it might take quite a few weeks. Although, if we continue doing it this way, you'll be as good as new in a few days."

"Huh, well why didn't you say so? Light me up, Doc." Casey gives me a grin as he lays back down on the couch.

And once again, with great concentration, I feel out his life force and combined my own energy to it. Then focused said energy to move towards one of his wounds and holding it there, starting the healing process. Once I start to feel my energy draining I can hear audible gasps from behind me as everyone else is watching Casey's wound slowly begin to heal before their eyes, as I move on to the next one once its done.

I pay close attention to my energy pool that resides inside me. It literally looks like someone pulled the plug, as there's a huge whirlpool in the middle from my energy is being viciously drained out. I could only hold it for roughly 10 minutes before I began gasping for breath and had to let go of the flow of energy.

I sit back on my feet to try to get a grip while the whole room is spinning from dizziness.

Leo places a hand on my shoulder to help steady me and asks, "You alright, Ying?"

I attempt to answer nonchalantly but with how out of breath I am, I don't think it's very convincing, "Yeah, I'll be fine. Just a bit light headed."

Just then Casey starts maniacally chuckling, "Damn! That sure itched like hell but I can't get over how much better I feel!" As he finishes this he sits up on the couch all on his own for the first time in a week.

I look up at him and give him a smile, "Well, I'm glad my patient is doing better. But, you shouldn't try to push yourself too hard. I think you'll still need two or three more large treatments."

Casey smiles a big one and says, "Whatever you say, Doc."

Just then, Mikey stickes his head out of the kitchen and called us in for breakfast.
