It wasn't until the next day that Kai's temper cooled down enough that he could talk to anybody.
He stood over the end of the bed watching Victoria still soundly asleep. Never once did she twitch or shift her body. Still, she rested like a true sleeping beauty to his gaze.
He took a breath and left like a normal person leaving out the door. Until boom! He wafted at a fast whipping speed and went to this one outside balcony on the east side of the mansion. Where he met Ivan, who was already sitting there relaxed back in a soft chair patiently waiting for him.
Kai sat down in a chair that was angled slantwise to see Ivan and the view of the outside pool that was empty for now. Other than birds singing and chirping. The atmosphere was peacefully quiet and good for a hard-to-hard chat. This is what Kai needed right now from his advisor, protector, and long-time brotherly friendship that he had with Ivan. He was your go-to Vampire for advice that Kai so desperately needed right now.
"What's up?" Ivan asked to be the first one to speak.
"I informed my father the wedding will be this Friday. Once Victoria wakes up, she has to pick a dress. It's the last thing she has to do."
Ivan nodded, "I've heard, and just so you know Rome, Ace, Jack, and myself have set up the security arrangements for the wedding."
"Yes, Rome told me this earlier," said Kai.
Ivan's brow lifted slightly since he wasn't sure why Kai requested to speak with him alone. He got the idea something else was on Kai's mind. "What did you wanna talk about?" He straight up asked him.
"A couple of things," Kai seems to start in a strained tone. Ivan could tell he was feeling slightly awkward.
"Shoot then." Ivan was blunt, sailing the words smoothly.
He was almost certain this had to be about Victoria. After Kai found out he had a fated mate. He hasn't been quite the same, Ivan could recall. As time has gone by, Kai's mood had gone bitter. Then he became angry when he couldn't find her. Any human girl that even resembled Victoria. Kai killed them maliciously out of despair that he couldn't have her yet. The whole coven knew when Kai finally disappeared. They had to be sure to find the right girl.
Over countless periods during those brightest blue moons. They had found many girls that could have been her but none of them were. By the time they had found Victoria, Mrs. Collin and Mr. Collin along with most of the coven were skeptical it was her. In recent years with this blue moon nearing. Along with Victoria, they had many girls in a variety of ages on trial to test them without the girls' awareness.
Each girl looked similar since they only had a few old wither sketches Kai had drawn on what she looked like before his disappearence. Most of these sketches deteriorated to nothing. Without proper details to confirm who his mate was while he was absent. Made this hard to tell which girl was Kai's mate.
Unfortunately, from having doubt, they put up a blind eye to Victoria since there were iffy things about her truly being his mate. Thus it's how she ended up falling in love with someone else, reflected Ivan.
"How did you tell Mia we were vampires without her getting scared?" Was Kia's first two questions. "Then how did you explain to her that you were her mate?"
Ivan took a mellow breath. He accepted this is why Kai needed to talk to him. "If my memory serves me correctly. I believe I told Mia when she was four years old. Before I put her to bed, I explain it to her like a bedtime story."
"Wasn't she scared?" Asked Kai.
Ivan chuckled lowly. "No, actually her mind was blown but she was still a baby. So left out the darker details about it. And I didn't show her my teeth until she asked me at age six. This will be different for Victoria because she isn't a child. You'll have to be more patient with her."
Kai nodded deeply contemplating in his head how to tell Victoria the truth.
Ivan continued to answer his second question. "As for the second question. Since I raised her, she was starting to call me dad but I gently corrected it. Instead, I told her I was her buddy and my parents took her in like she was their child. Being so little, she was required to have nurturing parents. She was nine when I told her we were mates. Then I married her when she was ten but things were different then but some cultures today haven't changed. But I didn't get sexually involved with her until she was twenty-two years old. Then I couldn't turn her into a vampiress until she was forty-one is when the blue moon set in that era."
Kai sorta chuckled, saying. "I remember when she changed into her true form. But I am curious as to how did you know when to stop having sex since she was human? I've ever slept with a human female."
"Yeah, I wouldn't think so," Ivan cracked up. "Considering how you hate humans."
Kai shook his head at Ivan's laughter. "Only Victoria and fated human females destined to be with any males in my clan are my only exceptions."
"Understood," replied Ivan.
"How did you know when Mia couldn't go any longer?" Kai asked again. "I don't wanna mistakenly overkill it with Victoria."
Ivan chuckled and told him. "Well, she either told me when she was done or I knew by how weak her body got. Most male humans can only go two rounds in under an hour. Other men can manage to go for hours. A lot of female humans don't even experience a good orgasm. And this will be Victoria's first time so it will be painful at first. I'd go by communication, each time you finish, watch her reaction. Give her a breather and water, then go from there. If she passes out then you know she's done."
Kai chuckled, "thanks, that gives me a better idea."
"Minus the momentum and deadly bite. Female humans aren't much different then vampiresses. I think they're all equally crazy, and moody, and they always find something to nag you about. I'm sure Victoria has no problem telling you how she feels. Mia chews my head every time she isn't happy." Ivan said and then laughed with Kai.
"I didn't doubt that one," Kai replied, chortling.
"Just don't tell Mia I said that, she'll hurt me." Ivan jokes, making them both laugh.
Although they knew vampiresses weren't as strong as them. But Ivan was happy to see Kai finally chilling back and laughing. Lately, Kai has been too grumpy to be around. Rome has been the only one to successfully handle and tolerate Kai's temper.
"Let's round up the males and go hunt," Kai said as they stood up before taking off.
