Ch 76: Bad Fight

My body yanked up from out of a dead sleep. I felt disoriented and didn't know what day it was but I saw it was daylight by how the sun sparkled the room from the balcony window. I looked towards the balcony and found Kai standing up from the couch. When he flopped a black-covered book down on the cushion that he was maybe reading.

"What day is it?" I asked as he came to my bedside. "How long have I been sleeping?"

"About two days," Kai answered and started to uncover me. "It's Monday morning, let's get you cleaned up, and then you can have breakfast. Afterward, you are going out. I'm only giving you two days to pick your wedding dress. We are getting married this Friday."

"Wha-..." I was flabbergasted to hear this. "I can't..." I quickly rectified my words to be more adamant and stood on my feet confronting him. "I won't marry you!"

I could tell through those shades his eyes likely narrowed at me brewing a potential storm. "You aren't given a choice!" He growled at me with this assertive demand.

A disheartening tear ran down my eye. "How could you break off your engagement with Samantha and tarnish my life! You ruined my relationship with Orlando! You're the reason why he cheated!" I blared out my authentic feelings.

Instantly, Kai didn't seem to like it. Without warning, he charged his footing and pushed my back up against the wall being neither gentle nor too hard.

"You honestly think I am the reason!" Kai spat in my face venomously retorting. "You truly believe Crystal over me!"

"Yes!" I yelled back. "You need to let me go!"

"Are you so stupid!" He harshly insulted me. "You honestly believe Crystal's phony sob story about Zach cheating on her when he never did? She only lied so you can forgive Orlando! She knows behind your back her cousin cheats on you in general"

"I know Crystal better than you!" I shamed him back, hoping to hurt him. "You're the stupid one to think I will ever fall in love with you! Crystal wouldn't lie to me! You are the one that caused me to cheat on Orlando and he was trying to move on! Until he realized I've been held captive by you! You conned me that day for me to purposely find him in bed with another woman! You even admitted that you knew and had no plans in letting me go! You did this all for Orlando and me to think we were moving on from each other! You and Rome knew he was at the duck pond to set me up from the start!"

"Are you kidding me right now!" Kai was livid so much that he clenched his fist. Slam!

I jerked my face aside when he punched his fist a few inches from missing me. I kept my mouth quiet. As he stared me down, likely shooting daggers behind his shades. I flinched my arms to shield my face when he moved but he didn't hit me like I thought he was. Instead, he backed away.

"I never wanted to show you this but I guess you give me no choice," he turned his heel leaving me dumbfounded since I thought he was going to hit me. Surprisingly, he entered his walk-in closet and I heard him shuffling through his stuff. Till he came back out with a file in his hand. He whipped it harshly to my bedside.

"Take a look at that!" He demanded rudely and more rashly.

I was cautious at first and slowly went to get the file. Before I opened it I looked at him for a second and didn't see anything else he wanted to say.

So I opened the folder only to feel my withering heartbreak into more shattered pieces. My bottom collapsed on the bed and I began to flip through each picture of Orlando with the same woman I found him in bed with. Then he was with several other women dating back before and after I went to Egypt. Others were even more recent. Each woman he kissed and he even held them like they were a couple. The shots were clear enough for me to see his ocean blue eyes.

My breaking heart saw enough and I set the file aside from me on the bed. Why would Crystal lie to me? Unless she didn't know since Crystal never was known to lie.

In the middle of me trying to contemplate this. Kai came over and took the file off the bed. There were no words I could collect to speak to him. When I veered up at him, his posture was cold and he seemed reluctant about wanting to say anything more to me.

Kai has more mood swings than a teenage girl just starting PMS half the time. It's always hard to tell what his mood is going to be. Very few times, has he shown small amounts of affection.

But surprisingly Kai leaned downward and wiped my harden tears and then he kissed my hair.

"I'm done arguing about this..." He halted for a second, trying to cool down from his anger. "Get your shower and then you are leaving."

After returning the file to his closet, he took a seat on the couch and picked up that same black-covered book I had seen he was reading. Only this time, I noticed he had a pen, writing something in it. It must've been his journal, I thought.

I wiped more tears and gathered my clothes. Then retraced my steps to the bathroom. As I glanced to notice that the book in his hand looked super old. Like old enough that it should be in a museum. Then again he likely bought it at a high-class auction. I thought when heading into the bathroom without giving him a second glance. Instead, I cried in the shower for how broken I felt. Life was depleting me in the worst possible way.
