After we ordered our ice creams and sat there for a while, K'ago started to slowly eat hers.

"Hey kiddo… Do you wanna talk about what happened earlier?" I asked after a long period of silence, deciding it was best to just start small and build up to asking questions later. She shook her head. "It doesn't matter. It's over now. I don't wanna think about those people anymore." She stated nonchalantly. "But they probably hate you now because of what happened to their child. They could find another way to use you for their plans." I replied sternly. She frowned, shaking her head again. "They don't. They can't, they promised. I trust them." She reassured.

I was silent again for a second. "What does that even mean anyway?" I asked. "Trust? Well, sometimes when children don't meet their parents very often, or if they don't know how to behave properly around certain kinds of people, they can develop different feelings towards other people. I mean, when people tell you to trust them, it usually means that they care for you. They aren't telling you to trust them, they are telling you to respect them. Because they are your parent and you should respect them unconditionally." She explained, smiling a bit.

I looked away uncomfortably. "So it means that I'm stupid?" I questioned, raising my brow slightly. "That's not true kiddo. You haven't acted stupid. They probably just didn't understand that and thought that you would've gotten mad if they told you that you're wrong or that you aren't allowed to trust them. That's why they thought that it was better to keep things quiet for now. You're young and still learning so they thought that maybe it would be good for you to wait until you have a little more experience before you speak up." She replied, placing a comforting hand on mine. I didn't say anything after that, instead I just gave her a slight nod as I focused my attention back on my ice cream.

"By the way kiddo, who were you talking to?" Mom suddenly asked, her tone changing to one that sounded concerned. "Who was I talking to?" I repeated, trying to remember who it could possibly be. My mind went blank immediately and I couldn't help the nervousness that started building up inside of me.
