"No," I lied, hoping that the answer would satisfy her. "Oh, that's too bad, well I guess you'll have to come home more often then." She commented, giving me an odd smile. "I suppose so." I replied, feeling irritated.

I stood up and headed toward the refrigerator to grab some water. I heard my mother sigh and turn her attention back to her newspaper. I grabbed a bottle of water and poured some into my glass, gulping it down. Just then I noticed that my phone was buzzing repeatedly on the table. Picking it up I saw several text messages and missed calls from all three of my siblings and two others from my dad. The last message that popped up was an image of my little sister and brother holding hands while riding their bicycles.

I sighed, setting my phone back down on the table. I was worried sick about them. Even though they didn't deserve to be treated like they do, I still wish that I could see them once in awhile to make sure that they weren't hurting. However, the fact remained that I hadn't seen them in almost two weeks and it was starting to affect me. Maybe when I get back from visiting my grandparents I will stop being so busy. Hopefully I won't run out of money to buy groceries before then.

After finishing up my drink, I made my way outside to take a quick shower before heading to work. Once I was dressed I headed out the front door, closing it behind me.

"Sissy!" A soft voice called out. Turning my head I saw K'ago running towards me with a bright smile on her face.

"Hi K'ago! What're you doing? Are you ready to go?" I asked, watching as she slowed down to walk alongside me. "Yep! We're going to eat ice cream today right? Can we have some chocolate ice cream please?" She asked, pulling her hands behind her back. I giggled lightly and nodded. "Of course we can! Let's go then." "Yay! Let's go!" She squealed, grabbing onto my arm and dragging me along the sidewalk. "Calm down, kiddo!" I chuckled as we started walking again.

Soon we reached the ice cream shop and entered, the bell chiming loudly. It was rather crowded with kids and adults alike. After searching for a couple of minutes we found a free table to sit at.
