Flash grabbed Jason by his collar before lifting him and pushing him against the locker. Flash looked around to make sure no one saw him and when he saw everything was clear, gave Jason a swift punch to the gut before releasing him.
Jason fell to the ground, gasping for breath. He stayed on the ground since he figured it would make it harder for Flash to seriously hurt him if he only had to worry about the feet that he could easily dodge.
"A friend of mine saw you near Liz's place earlier. Why? We may be going through... a bit of a rough patch, but I would hate for someone to come between us."
Jason began to think to himself swiftly while trying to understand what was going on and how he could explain himself.
'So he does not know that I slept with her, just suspects it. Why the hell my luck allowed for a friend of his to running around at 5:30 in the morning can be answered later. Now to make up an answer that satisfies him.'
Jason had finally thought of something after pretending to catch his breath for about 10 seconds. Jason stood up wobbly while leaning on the locker near him.
"Ms. Allan wanted to go over Liz's results and talk about extra tutoring. She said wants to improve Liz's SAT and ACT scores and was asking what other subjects I am skilled in.
You know what? You might wanna ask your daddy if you could get some extra tutoring too. Might need to know how to count to 10 so you can make sure you have the right number of people on the field."
The last comment got Jason another punch to the gut but this time he was prepared. While it still hurt, he could at least remain standing.
Jason had always been a smartass. If he started acting meek, he would most likely make himself seem guilty. Even though he got another punch for it, it was better than the other outcome. And Flash seemed to buy it.
"I'm good, nerd. And next time, ask my permission before you head anywhere near her place. Understood?"
"Like a paradox."
Flash walked away feeling proud without understanding that Jason was still mocking. Jason shakily made his way into the homeroom. His teacher and most of the students were not in the room, while the ones who were in there focused on studying. No one noticed Jason limp in there.
Jason collapsed into his chair before placing his head in his arms to take a nap. He usually slept through homeroom and no one would suspect it.
Within 20 minutes, the teacher and other students slowly trickled in until the class was full. Mrs. Adams began taking attendance and when Jason's name was called, had marked him as late for sleeping in class before ignoring him. This usually happened so Jason was prepared for it.
The rest of the homeroom and the class after was relatively peaceful for Jason who did not wake or stir the entire time. It was only when the bell rang, that Jason finally moved. He looked around and saw the other students packing up so he grabbed his unopened bag and the homework on his desk before walking out of the room.
Jason made his way to his next class and saw Liz and Flash standing around with their usual crowd. Some of them noticed Jason but did not greet him. he had been their tutor but never became their friend. They all had business relationships and that was it.
'Good. Doesn't look like she has said anything.'
Jason made his way into AP Web Development before sitting at his computer. He logged in a began typing away before the teacher class even began. The teacher gave out weekly assignments and would have everyone teach themselves and each other.
'Useless bastard. But gives me plenty of time to nap.'
Jason finished doing what all the best programmers had mastered and used daily: Copy, Paste, & Modify. Jason created a website that should have taken several days in 20 minutes by just reusing his old site and changing a few things around.
"Mr. Parker. So glad that you could join us in class today."
Just when Jason finished submitting and was about to lay his head down, Jason heard what the teacher said and knew his neighbor had apparently arrived. Jason decided to ignore them though and place his head down.
Mr. Parker sat down next to Jason and was silently glaring at him. Jason could feel someone was looking at him but ignored it.
'I'm so handsome. People look at me all the time.'
Peter Parker, on the other hand, had some very different thoughts regarding Jason.
'He made a back up of that video so fast. I might need to break his phone next time. But I definitely can't afford to replace it every time I break it. Especially since Aunt May just got that hip surgery.'
Peter's thoughts quickly shifted from being frustrated with Jason to thoughts about money. Peter Parker was Spider-Man who Jason had recorded earlier. Jason did not know his deskmate was Spider-Man or that he was feeling frustrated with him, but even if he knew, he would not care.
The class went by quickly as did the rest of the day. Jason went through the day at school without anything major happening besides the couple of punches he got from Flash.
'My next tutoring session with Liz is on Thursday. I will talk to her about what happened then.'
Jason got on the closest bus before making his way home thinking that today was actually a good day. When he got back to his house, he saw both his brothers outside.
When Jason appeared in their sights, both of them had large smiles appear on their faces. Dick was the oldest of the 3 and was currently a senior at midtown high. He was a star on the basketball team.
Tim was a sophomore also at Midtown. He was even smarter than Jason and had ended up skipping a grade. He was a member of the STEAM club. For both to ditch their club activities, something major must have happened.
The trio never really interacted much at school since they ran in different social circles so most did not know they were related. Dick was a jock, Tim was a nerd, and Jason was a web. Seeing their smiles, Jason finally remembered what he had forgotten.
'Mom is gonna kill me!'
As the realization began to show on Jason's face, the smiles of both of his brothers' faces only grew. The brothers always enjoyed seeing each other in misery and today was not going to be an exception.
