For The First Time

Aside from the slight tinge of pain that fleetingly flickered in her when she first saw him, she had felt nothing for him as he stood before her.

"My name is Hito. It's a pleasure to meet you, lady Hina" he had said to her, a small smile on his friendly face as his blue-green eyes met hers, his right hand outstretched in anticipation for a handshake. But she had not reciprocated the same friendliness.

Now that she thought about that awkward moment, she couldn't even really remember what had happened after that. Or rather, she was trying not to remember it.

After he had introduced himself to her, she had uttered something along the lines of "Well, I hope you enjoy your stay with us, Mr Hito" sounding slightly cold despite her practised business smile as she walked away with Suki. She still remembered him being quite stunned as he watched her as if he had been expecting a different reaction from her, his eyes lingering on her.
