Lucas was bent over his table sorting through a few documents when his secretary walked in and laid an envelope on his table before quickly running off.
In time, they had all gotten scared of him. It's not like he enjoyed it, but he easily got irritated and ended up lashing at whoever was close by.
He picked up the envelope and opened the letter it contained. His most senior secretary was asking to take maternity leave, she was eight months pregnant presently and was planning to take a break and prepare for childbirth.
He felt the irritation creep up on him, as the thought of working with one less staff in his president's office was going to complicate things.
The next paragraph, however, calmed him down a bit. "My junior at MIT is currently in Freetown, she's the best replacement. I plan to work with her for the next two weeks, so when I officially start my leave, she'll be all up to date."
