Chapter 70 -Pregnant 2

"He said that to you?" Lara asked with a hint of anger in her voice. Kiera slowly nodded her head sibling no.

"Then why do you say so?" She asked, puzzled. Kiera leaned back onto the step behind her.

"When your father married me, we had a contract" she sighed. Lara arched an eyebrow at the revelation but kept quiet giving Kiera time to gather her thoughts and speak.

"He'd pay off all my debts, give me a comfortable life, and I'll have to take care of his two daughters. It clearly stated in the contract that I was not allowed to have a baby and he made that clear, that was one of the clauses that would immediately void the contract and our marriage" Kiera said in one go, she was dejected, her eyes dull with the prospect of what was to come after she divulged her pregnancy.

Lara took in a deep breath, trying to process everything she had just heard.

"But that was years ago, I'm sure it's no longer valid," Lara said, trying to raise her morale.
