chapter 13

There are now 4 months left for U.A. entrance exams, Izuku was happy, the cafe was rising in popularity, he had work with the heroes as a side job, and the heroes would visit often too, Izuku didn't hear much about Endeavor after his first job with him though.

Toga was now much more stable mentally, much better then the first time they met, Toga now wouldn't wish to see blood all around her 24/7, which made Izuku happy, The blood bags worked.

Aizawa started spending every break possible in the cafe, the reason he came when asked is 'The coffee is good.', but Izuku knew better, the raven haired man just liked to keep an eye on him. Izuku had a job every couple of days, not much, but enough to make a living out of it, if he wanted, so Eraserhead just wanted to make sure he was fine..

Bakugo questioned to himself many times, Why do some of the costumers look so familiar? But never really got the answer he wanted, which made him hungry, but now not even curse he could inside the cafe. Izuku made a friend in the week he was out, and now that friend leaves a kid with him most of the time, Kota was his name, he is staying in the cafe for 6 weeks now, and Bakugo never saw that friend of Izuku.

Kota was having the time of his life, he wasn't in the store for that long, but was for enough to learn how to help in baking, where he helped Toga decorate cookies and so on, which brought a smile to Izuku's face, and Toga and Kota were almost inseparable, as if they knew each other for their whole lives, they were the best of friends, and Izuku thinks he might be the main reason that Toga's mentality changed so much.

Izuku promised Mandalay that he would also make him study for school and other stuff like that, and successfully convinced him to start homeschooling with him.

Thanks to the increase in costumers, Izuku needed to go grocery shopping, since most of the ingredients for his items in the menu were almost nonexistent, leaving the cafe, he warned Toga to take care of the store.

In the way to the grocery store, he stopped to see an event that would change his life forever, a little girl, not older than 7, running away from a bulky man, the girl shined various amounts of color, she had a horn in her forehead, silver hair, and a lot of bandages in her arms and legs, something happened and the man as soon as he touched the girl disappeared, only leaving clothes.

Izuku gasped as he saw the event, rushing to see if the girl was okay, he grabbed the girl and pushed the girl into his chest, hugging her and comforting her with soft words. "I-I k-k-killed a-again. I-I'm a monster. My quirk is a monstrosity." The girl stuttered, one word being bigger than a girl her age should know, Izuku only tightened his hold on the girl, lifting her from the ground.

The girl looked up, from Izuku's chest, and he smiled at her, "So little girl, what's your name? You hurt anywhere?" The green haired male said, his words soft and spoken slowly, to not scare the girl. She nodded, "Eri." Her voice barely a whisper.

"So Eri, nice too meet you. I'm Midoriya Izuku. I will take you to a safe place, where they will ask you some questions and then see what will happen to you." Izuku explained, as the girl nodded and tightened her grip on Izuku's shirt, He is warm... His hands don't hurt... He makes me feel warm... I'm so cold. "Eri, just asking, is the glowing your quirk?" The boy caught the little girl off guard, not even realizing that she was using her quirk, and started to panic.

"Don't worry! Everything's okay, nothing happened to me, see." Izuku smiled at her, a bigger smile than the one he gave her before, "Do you think you can make it stop?" The girl calmed down, some time later the light died down, and she let a relieved sigh. "Can you tell me stuff about your quirk?", the girl flinched, Will he be bad if I tell him about it? Will he trow me away like mommy did? Will he... Eri gave up thinking, only accepting the warmth she was receiving from the boy, "Rewind, I-I can rewind l-l-living things." Izuku caught on quickly, So that man died...

Eri started trembling, because of the lack of reaction from the boy, which brought the boy into reality, and quickly calmed the girl down again, soon after he arrived at the cafe, everything fell into silence as he entered the cafe without what he promised to bring, and with a little girl in his arms.

"I'm sorry for asking this of our customers, but I ask everyone to leave, please, I will need to contact authorities for something, and I need to ask everyone to leave. I will also not ask money for the items requested, and those that were served can be taken home." Izuku finished with a smile, everyone did as they were told as soon as they saw the little girl in his arms, where bandages littered the girl.

As soon as the last customer left, the questions from Toga started, Izuku only sat on the sofa besides Aizawa, "Can you call Nezu and maybe Tsukauchi?" Aizawa nodded, catching quickly, somewhere on the way to the cafe Eri fell asleep, probably tired from the running.

She started shining again, and Izuku was quick to take Toga's hand away from the girl, the little girl was having a nightmare, crying and whimpering every now and then. "Don't touch the girl right now, Aizawa can you erase her quirk?" The quirk died down immediately after Izuku finished. "Her quirk is not properly safe right now... With training it can be a very good quirk that can help everyone, but right now its so strong that a slight touch can erase your existence, at least is what I think, I just saw her pursuer disappear only leaving his clothes behind."

About 30 minutes later, Nezu and Detective Tsukauchi, a man Izuku worked some times, a detective with a lie detector as a quirk, which will make stuff with Eri much easier to deal with.

Izuku woke up the little girl, that groggily opened her eyes to look at bright green orbs that were staring right at her, he smiled and in response to that, the girl blinked and looked around herself, her breathing started getting rougher as she saw unknown people around her, but calmed down as soon as he saw Nezu for some reason. She hoped off Izuku's lap and hugged the giant stuffed animal, that was close to her height.

Aizawa and Izuku resisted laughs escaping their mouths, while Toga laughed heartily, Tsukauchi chuckled at the interaction, while Nezu stayed quiet waiting for the little girl to calm down.

"Eri." Izuku called softly, "If you continue, Nezu will have problems..." the little girl looked at her new stuffed toy, that blinked and moved his mouth, making the girl let go instantaneously and run to Izuku's lap again, that made him chuckle, "Okay, Eri, we will need you to tell us what the man that was following you wanted, how you got those wounds and everything you can. If you don't want to talk, you don't need to."

The little girl didn't understand things right, since she started telling Izuku everything, and not to everyone, but he still heard everything she told him. "Okay, so Eri was locked by Chisaki, bad guy, kill everyone with a touch of his hand, he stabbed her with things that hurt, taking blood to try and make drugs to stop quirks, her mom abandoned her after the death of her father, that she says was blamed for. And that is all she said." Izuku said after hearing the girl's whispers.

"But why take her blood? Her quirk?" Tsukauchi asked.

"She said her quirk is rewind, where she can rewind every living thing, I saw her rewind a pursuer out of existence." Izuku said, blocking her ears as he spoke, which confused the little girl, since now she couldn't hear anything.

"So replicating her quirk with a drug, to rewind a specific part, destroying the quirk of the target." Nezu deduced, Izuku just nodded, thinking that was probably the case.

"For now, we need a place for the girl to stay." Aizawa started.

"She can stay here. Or come with us to U.A." Nezu not even a second after said. "Staying here, she can be seen, and stopped if she goes on a rampage with her quirk." He says looking at Aizawa, "If she comes with us to U.A. we can train her quirk so that she wouldn't hurt anyone anymore." Nezu concludes.

Izuku takes his hands from the girls ears, and asks, "Eri, this is important now." The girl nods waiting for Izuku's important thing, "Do you want to stay here with me, or go with this nice people to a place where you can learn to control your quirk?" The girl grips Izuku's shirt as she thought of what she should do, Izuku smiled at her, patting her hand, that said girl happily rubbed her head on his hand. "So will you stay with me?" The girl nods, and for the first time since he met her, she smiled, a soft, little smile.

"Then I will call Recovery girl, she will check her wounds, and I will deal with the necessary papers." Nezu says getting up.

"Bye-bye Mr. Snuggles." Eri says her goodbyes to Nezu. Aizawa couldn't hold back to the comment and bursted out laughing which startled the girl a bit, but calmed down with Izuku's soft touch.

"I will put a case on this and start the search." Tsukauchi commented, holding back his chuckle as he got up.

Aizawa left shortly after, saying something along the lines of 'Needing someone more experienced in taking care of girls.'.

Izuku had his fun explaining and showing the place to Eri, introduced Bakugo with a picture so that she wouldn't be scared when she sees him, and introducing Toga and Kota, that will live with her too.

Toga was ecstatic, a new cute friend for her, she was quick to make friends with her, Eri even allowing Toga to hold her at the end of the day, and even slept with her that night. That she had to take a pill before, a pill that repressed quirks so that they wouldn't activate during sleep, a necessary drug for people like Eri.

Kota was happy to get a friend, Eri was a year older than him, but they would be in the same school year if they go to school together. Thanks to the years of her being captive she would start school later than him after all.

Izuku was glad, that she would now smile occasionally, and show a bit more emotion, she was quick to get attached with everyone there.

And he was glad that he had another treasure to take care off. Izuku couldn't ask for more.
