Chapter 5: “Laka’s day job”

Part 1

Shana woke up early on a Friday morning to the smell of breakfast cooking. Laka had already prepared a spread of delicious foods on the table, and he called out to Shana to wake up Deicoon, who was sleeping on the couch. Shana's mother was already out to buy groceries for the week and was starting her new job. Shana was happy to see her mother working again after so long. She woke up Deicoon for breakfast and the three of them sat down at the table. Before eating, each of them prayed to their respective gods, except for Laka. They then sat in their respective seats and waited for each other to finish praying.

As they started to eat, Deicoon showed horrible table manners, grabbing food with his bare hands and making a mess on his side of the table. Laka disciplined him, teaching him how to use chopsticks and explaining the importance of being respectful while eating in Japanese culture. Shana helped as well, and Deicoon finally learned how to use chopsticks, although he was still a bit annoyed by the restriction they placed on how much he could eat.

Laka, who cooked the meal, made sure that Shana and Deicoon had enough food, giving them each a meal with 10,000 calories worth of food. He knew that their bodies were different from normal humans and required more sustenance.

Laka announced to Shana and Deicoon that his baby-sitting job was calling for him and he needed to take care of a child. He gave Shana some money, instructing her to buy clothes and other necessary items for Deicoon as he can't go back to the outer realms. He suggested that since it was a Friday and there was no school, it would be a good opportunity for them to bond with Deicoon and expose him to modern society. Shana agreed and put the money in her purse.

After finishing breakfast, Laka gave Deicoon some of his clothes to wear for their outing and reminded him to remove his light-weight armor, as people would find it strange. He also gave Deicoon soap and shampoo, teaching him how to take a bath in the modern world. Deicoon took a bath and put on the modern clothes that Laka gave him - a blue shirt and pants. Shana also changed into her beautiful casual clothes, which caused Deicoon to blush and quietly say that she looked beautiful.

They locked the house and Shana handed Laka the key. Deicoon and Shana then headed to the nearest mall, bidding farewell to Laka. Laka walked to the house he was supposed to be babysitting and reached the wealthy side of the city. He passed by several mansions, one of which belonged to the richest family in Japan. He stopped at the biggest mansion and rang the doorbell at the gate. A maid promptly came running and welcomed him in a formal manner.

As he walked inside, Laka was in awe of the biggest garden he has ever seen at this family's garden. He rang the doorbell, and a 10-year-old female child answered and welcomed him with excitement, saying "Big bro, play with me again! I waited for you for so long. Mommy and Daddy were boring." The child's parents, the Reinhardth family, who ran the second-richest company rivaling against Shin.co, appeared. They informed Laka that he would be staying until midnight and Laka agreed. The parents said goodbye to their daughter as they left. In a playful tone, Laka asked the child her name, to which she replied, "Akahana." Akahana playfully scolded Laka, asking "Did you forget me, big bro?" Laka quickly responded with a smile, "No, little sister."

Laka and Akahana have a strong bond, despite not being related by blood. Akahana shows her affection for Laka by calling him "big bro" even though her parents have warned her not to. Despite her parents' concerns, Laka is the only one who can handle Akahana's special abilities, which include the ability to move objects with her mind, including furniture and her giant teddy bear. The maids and butler are afraid of Akahana and her abilities, but they can't go to the authorities because the Reinhardth family, who is Akahana's family, has control over most of the forces in Japan due to their immense wealth. Laka is responsible for Akahana's education and also helps her control her abilities. He also plays with Shana and discovers her abilities of mind reading and mind control, but with Laka's guidance, Shana learns to control her abilities to the best of her abilities.

Part 2

Laka relaxes with the other maids and butlers, chatting and discussing how he manages to handle Akahana despite her powerful abilities. They are amazed, but Laka always reminds them that she is still just a child. He is well-paid for his work as Akahana's caregiver, homeschool teacher, and playmate, as he is the only one who can control and teach her.

However, before he met Akahana and Shino, Laka was struggling to make ends meet, doing part-time jobs and thinking of ways to earn money. One day, while jogging on the wealthy side of town, he stumbled upon a flyer for a babysitter and decided to give it a shot. He dressed up in his best clothes and went to the Reinhardth mansion, where he saw rows of participants competing for the job. The head of the Reinhardth family, Akahana's father, greeted all the participants warmly.

The father of Akahana called in his maids and asked them to guide the participants on a tour of the mansion, showing them its size and grandeur. After a few hours, the head led the participants into a room in the basement, where they saw a reinforced metal door guarded by a butler. Upon entering the room, they saw a second reinforced metal door with only vents and a reinforced glass through which they could see a child, Akahana, who was restrained with metal chains and a metal helmet.

The sight of Akahana caused confusion and outrage among the participants, but Laka remained calm and composed. The reinforced door then locked behind the participants and they saw a giant TV screen displaying the head of the Reinhardth family, who explained why they had been hired. The person who succeeded in this task would receive 1 million U.S dollars as a reward. However, the head warned the participants that the contract they signed absolved the family of responsibility for any injury or death that may occur during this job.

As the Head of the family spoke on television, he explained that his daughter had killed previous participants because she was unable to control her powers. He referred to the contract signed by the Reinhardth family, stating that their lives were under the control of the family, and if they could control their daughter, they would be handsomely compensated. The Head stated that one by one, the participants should go inside and try to control the daughter. However, the participants were scared for their lives and unsure of what to do. Some tried to escape, but were shot with multiple holes, screaming in pain as their screams filled the room. Some went inside the room to try to control the child, but they also died by having their heads blown off, their organs scattering everywhere. One by one, they perished, leaving only Laka to tackle the problem.

Laka, with no other option left, decided to control the child. To hide his powers from the Head and the cameras, he picked up a bone and threw it to destroy all the cameras and hidden cameras. When he entered the room, the child immediately attempted to explode Laka from the inside. Despite being repeatedly blown into tiny pieces, Laka's ability to completely heal allowed him to regenerate every time. Upon observing the child, Laka saw that her ki (life energy) was overflowing and infinite, but she was unable to control it and could only manipulate the flow of ki through her brain. He tried to calm her down by breaking the chains that bound her. Despite being a child, the girl saw Laka as a threat. However, the father was still hesitant about fully freeing his daughter, as he worried about her safety and the safety of others. But as Akahana's father tried to lock her up again, she lost control of her powers and caused an explosive release of energy that vaporized all the butlers guarding her father. He then sent them all back to their homes with a financial compensation, bringing closure to the chaotic events that had transpired.
