Surprisingly, I don't find Rae in the room but I do find a note stating she went to Cade's... well that explains... Since, I had switched off my phone for the time being I was at Chance's.
Monday morning, it seems that everything is too quiet. All of Alden's friends are here except him...not to mention that they don't realize that I can feel their eyes on me or maybe they just don't care but as soon as I look at them, they move their heads away.
"Stop messing with him" Barbie's voice startles me altogether.
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Don't act stupid. Stop playing with him" She stalks out of the class. What the hell is her problem.
It's almost lunch time when I get to meet Christy and Jason.
"So, where were you on Saturday?"
"What do you mean?"
"Oh c'mon, Rae called me to ask about you and she seemed pretty adamant to know your whereabouts. Needless to say, even we didn't know about it"
"Oh, nothing... I just went to meet a friend of mine" I take a bite of my apple to avoid any further explanation. But as usual I failed to accomplish that.
"Friend?" Christy arches her eyebrows in a suggestive manner but it's not her who I'm concentrating on but someone else who's staring at me. He doesn't even blink for a second. It's like he's waiting to know if it's really a friend I'm talking about. But he can't really hear me, right? I mean he's sitting all the way across the other end of the hall and there's a lot of noise in here.
"Shi...hello?"
"Umm... yes, he's my best friend. More like my everything" I smile remembering my time with chase.
"Ooohh...everything huh" Christy whistles while I just laugh at her stupid reaction which is short lived as a sudden sound of a chair being banged to the floor startles everyone in the hall. And Alden is standing beside it, staring at it and fuming?
He walks out of the cafeteria in no time leaving all of us looking at the door while his friends are giving me angry looks.
"You know sometimes, I feel like he's the one going through PMS" I give a short laugh at her comment but I can't help but feel an uneasiness in my chest. He didn't hear me.
"Anyways, tell us more about this EVERYTHING friend of yours" James snorts at her question.
"what? I'm just asking for a little bit of details"
"Sure, you are" James's reply sends both of them into an argument...leaving me to mull over the things that just happened.
I leave Christy in the parking lot when our classes end and walk towards my dorm when someone covers my mouth from behind and pushes me into an abandoned corner.
I scream at the top of my lungs but nothing comes out apart from an incoherent voice which doesn't make any sense and I'm sure if I die here...no one will be able to find me. But when I look at my abductor, I feel a sudden rush of anger and narrow my eyes. Oh, He didn't ...This boy doesn't know any boundaries.
We keep staring at each other, I'm sure if an outsider would look at us...he'll think of us as two angry birds...not that anyone would come here in this alley.
