(Humble Aboard)

I can't sleep... all I can think about is what happened in the forest...and what the hell did happen. One second, he was so close to me and another I was a puppy he couldn't wait to leave. Clearly, I haven't felt like this ever as I've never dated anyone. With a heavy head, I dial up the number I know by heart.

"Hey, munchkin...you remember me?" Chance's voice relaxes me a little.

"Hey" I don't have the strength to say anything at all right now and it's enough to send Chance into worry.

"Shi, is everything alright? Tell me what's wrong and I'll fix it, sweetheart" his voice makes me smile a little.

"I just miss you" my voice cracking a little.

"I miss you too, Sweety... how about you come here tomorrow morning. I've an early morning class but I'll be free for rest of the day. We can go to your favourite place to eat and then visit your parents"

"you sure?" I don't want to bother him but I do need a distraction right now.

"yeah, absolutely...I'll meet you tomorrow morning. Give me a call when you're leaving from there. Okay?" I can hear the worry in his voice.

"Ok...Good night"

"Good night, have sweet dreams for me...would you? I'll see you in the morning" I smile ending the call and relax enough to go to sleep.

Chance lived in an apartment nearby his college. It took me an hour and a half to reach there by the bus. When I reached his apartment, chance standing outside with a grin on his face.

"you could've called me, I would've picked you up from the bus stand" he takes my bag and leads the way to his apartment.

"It's hardly five-minute walk, chance...I think I managed it fine" I follow him and wait as he unlocks his door.

"Welcome to my humble aboard princess" he mockingly bows to me.

"Haha, very funny...let me use the bathroom quickly and then we're good to go" I smile at him.

"cool...it's second door to the left"

Time with chase flies by so quickly that we don't even realize and it's already night. Chase and I are snuggled on his couch watching the good doctor.

"I don't understand why the hell they don't listen to him when they know he's always right" Chase is blubbering as always.

"Don't talk with your mouth full" We're eating pizza and trust me it's not nice when you speak with food in your mouth.

"Sorry, but you have to understand how frustrating it becomes" He gives me his baby face.

"I know, believe me I do" I turn my head towards him and he's already looking at me.

"You never told me Shi, what happened at the Uni" I wish he'd never ask that

"Nothing Chase, nothing happened...I just missed you. Why? Didn't you miss me at all"

"Shut up... you know I did. So much that I didn't even eat ice cream without you"

"Oh...you poor baby" I laugh at him while messing his hair up and in no time we're tickling each other.

"So, this is your sanctuary...huh" Chase offered to drive me back and well here we are in front of my dorm"

"Yup...this is me, you wanna come in?" I don't want to talk to anybody right now...not even Rae.

"Oh! no, I'll be heading back now. But take care and don't forget to call me" He kisses me on the forehead and heads back to his car.

I feel like I'm being watched, I turn around to look but there's no one as far as I can see. Must be nothing.
