It wasn't only Sebastian who decided to leave that day. Isla was surprised when she heard Adam also decided to go back to Cassiopeia. She met him before he left, seeing him about to mount his horse.
"I've taken care of the work back home. You don't have to go back now," Isla said.
"It's fine, Milady," Adam smiled. "I also want to visit her. It's been a while."
Isla looked at him, noticing something was happening to him. She slowly asked, "You're okay, right?"
"Not really," the man showed Isla a different kind of smile when he answered. "What about you?"
Isla raised her face at him after a short silence between them. She didn't answer him, only smiling and shaking her head. Adam looked at her and softly shrugged.
"You know? I heard somewhere that the best revenge is forgiveness. I thought it was a nonsense, but... I kinda get it now," Adam said.
"Bloody hell," Isla groaned.
Adam nodded to her with a half smile. "I'm going."
