Thank heavens Chen Xue'er agreed to return to the palace that same day. Cao Shu Yu helped her pack the little belongings Chen Xue'er had while she said goodbye to Grandpa and Grandma Ho. The elderly couple did not want to let her go, but Chen Xue'er comforted them, saying that she would be fine. 

"Stay safe, Xue'er. If you are unhappy, you know you can return here anytime. We will always open our door for you," Grandma Ho said as she hugged Chen Xue'er. 

"Child, don't even doubt about it for a second, do you understand?" Grandpa Ho added. He was not much of a talker, but Chen Xue'er knew he cared about her. 

Chen Xue'er wiped a tear that fell off her face. "Yes, thank you so much for all your care until now, Grandpa and Grandma Ho."

Gao Wei waited patiently outside. He was still nervous. He could not stop thinking about what would happen when people started noticing that the crown prince had gone missing.
