Chapter 21: Cultural Bonds and Morning Revelations

As snacks were served to the passengers in their seats, Riya's mind flickered to a concern she hadn't addressed yet.

"Uncle Kim," she called out tentatively, still finding it uncomfortable to refer to Mr. and Mrs. Kim as her parents.

Mr. Kim turned to her, indicating for her to continue. "We didn't mention this earlier, but we're all vegetarian. Could you please ensure that our food is prepared separately?" Riya requested, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

"And that we don't accidentally consume any non-vegetarian food," she added, seeking reassurance.

Mr. Kim's expression softened as he nodded understandingly. "Of course, Riya. I should have inquired about this earlier, but it's not a problem. We have plenty of time to get to know each other better," he replied warmly.

Riya breathed a sigh of relief, grateful for Mr. Kim's understanding. "Even after we arrive in Korea, I still want to maintain my Hindu religion. I hope that won't be an issue," she ventured, her tone vulnerable.

Mr. Kim's smile widened, his eyes reflecting genuine warmth. "Don't worry, Riya. We're aware of your religious beliefs, and we respect your decision.

You're free to practice your religion as you see fit. No one will ever force you to change," he assured her.

Feeling a weight lift off her shoulders, Riya nodded gratefully, thankful for the acceptance and understanding she found within her newfound family.

After dinner, they all retired to their respective sleeping quarters, settling in for the night.

As Riya drifted off to sleep, she couldn't shake off the sense of contentment that enveloped her, grateful for the newfound sense of belonging she had discovered within her unconventional family.

The next morning, Riya awoke to the gentle rays of sunlight streaming through the window, casting a warm glow over the cabin.

Blinking away the remnants of sleep, she was greeted by Miya's excited voice.

"Sis, hurry up and look outside! The view from the window is incredible! Why do you still have the curtain closed?" Miya exclaimed, her enthusiasm infectious.

Riya smiled sleepily, rubbing her eyes as she made her way to the window. With a flick of her wrist, she drew back the curtain, revealing a breathtaking panorama of the sky stretching out before her.

"Wow," Riya breathed, her eyes widening in awe. "The view from up here is simply spectacular."

As she gazed out at the expanse of clouds and the distant horizon, Riya felt a sense of wonder wash over her.

It was moments like these that reminded her of the extraordinary journey she was embarking on and filled her with anticipation for the adventures that lay ahead.
