The three of them immediately enter the shining gate. Niva is convinced this is the final room, the reason is because while every dungeon has its own characteristic, the final room door is the only thing that is the same to all the dungeon in the realm.
The gate is coated with blue luminescent light. It's light somewhat coming from inside the room. But by Niva's experience, the interior is really different and the light that comes out will dissipate as soon as the gate opens.
What is impressive is the height. The gate along with the corridor is 10 times higher than your usual adult. The corridor is decorated differently than your usual cave in this dungeon. Instead, its tile is made of some sort of marble. A material that is occasionally used in a palace.
Inside the final room, it is a truly different experience. Never compare the initial dungeon from the final room. It usually does not have any similarities at all. There is a really strong boss monster waiting inside the room that will yield proficiency and weapon or item in its treasure room.
The final room, boss, and treasures are somewhat randomized from time to time. Different people that had cleared the dungeon will tell different things. But it is still under a certain scope. For example, 3 expeditions vouched that they encountered the almighty slime king, 2 expeditions vouched that they fought a different boss but on the same place in Dark Red Firefly Forest, then 5 expeditions vouched that they fought different boss and fighting place, but found the Enchanted White Sterling Robe.
There are some sort of different combinations with the 3 variables. Adventurer's Guild Dungeon Surveyor is tasked to write down the 3 variables from different expeditions and then sort them into a chart. What is the highest possibility of encounters between the 3 variables?
From the dungeon chart that Niva read in a bulletin in the Sari village, the highest probability will be Giant Butterfly Eagle in the Dusty Desert that drops Fiery Sword Rapier. A sword is not really what he needed to be honest. But maybe it is small enough to be used as a two set sword for Lynel.
Thankfully they bring the [Potion of Levitation]. An expensive set of potions that can be used against it, even if it flushing down the last bit of Volvalen that they got.
No one knows how this dungeon fundamentally works. For now, they can only pray to The Nature to bring them longevity and forgiveness.
Niva looks at Lynel and Lula. They both nod at the same time, except for Lula, who does not look convincing at all judging from her condition.
The blue haired boy pushes the door together with his friends. The blinding light gradually vanishes and leads them to someplace. A place much darker.
The wind howls, blowing tree leaves in the night air. Thankfully the stars illuminate the forest even though only a little.
He is shocked to see something lying on the road in front of him. Giant eagle that has beautiful blue light wings, akin to a butterfly. The majestic creature is lying there in a puddle. They inspect it closer, revealing that the eagle is lying on a pool of red.
The poor eagle lifeless eye is evident when they are closing in.
"Stab wounds in the guts. With its wing torn by something powerful. This poor creature died not long ago." Lula closes the eyelid that is almost half of her height.
Everyone standing there is confused. The boss that they should face is lying right there lifeless in front of them.
Someone is standing in front of them behind the eagle. A person approximately their height but shrouded with a pitch black color, except for the eyes that reflect yellowish light. Niva had a bad feeling when looking continuously into its eyes.
Niva does not remember this kind of monster in the dungeon chart. 'Is it some kind of super rare monster that only we encounter?' He is feeling conflicted. At one side, he feels a rush of adrenaline for facing a new monster and the prospect that he will gain Volvalen for writing a report about this new type of enemy.
On the other hand, the fact that this 'person' might be responsible for the death of the true boss monster terrifies him. This is not what he had in mind when fighting.
But looking at the two offensive classes and a compfreund beside him. He prays that their battle capability is more than superb to counter this boss. Especially Lula, with her [Pestilence] class that can kill anything.
Seeing Lula's mental status, Niva can't help to imagine there will be a catastrophic accident and friendly fire. He hopes not, because they are almost out of health potion.
"Everyone, be careful!" declares Niva.
The two nods in affirmation.
They quickly form a different formation. Lynel and Shervo are now standing side by side in front as the tanker and distractor. Meanwhile, Lula is standing behind both of them as the main damage dealer. With Niva standing in the back as a support.
The figure in front of them smiles eerily. A blinding light 'teeth' that has a sharp shape. Similar to the fang of an animal. the black figure immediately charges towards them. His right hand conjures a pitch black sword from thin air.
Lynel immediately responds to it. The two clash swords with Shervo jump in the fray, tackling the shadow monster. Shervo barely touches it but the shadow jumps back, evading them.
'This is bad, it's [Agility] is on par with Lynel.'
Suddenly the left hand of the shadow falls off. It screams immense pain. "How the hell?" Niva can't contain his confusion.
Lula shows him a potion that she had opened. A green liquid similar to the one that killed the stone golem."I ru-rub [Acidic Melting Point] to Shervo's. It melts anything that paw touches."
He is really glad a person like Lula is on his team. On top of that, her dynamic with Shervo is unreal. A real companion and compfreund synergy.
But her explanation and the way she explains it sounds like a mad [Alchemist] that is obsessed with his/her creation.
The black figure writhes in pain. Something unexpected happens, the body is divided into three and forming a leg. The parts scatter away from one another. Probably fleeing because the black figures are outmatched.
"Let's split up and pursue them," Lynel just said something utterly stupid. But they cannot defeat the monster if they do not annihilate the three of them. So Niva nods and picks a shadow that he will pursue.
Lynel quickly finds his target, and then Shervo with Lula going in the opposite direction. Leaving Niva to find his own target.
'How dare they to leave a support class alone against a boss.' mumbles Niva in his thoughts. 'Thankfully I have [The Puppeteer] to help me.'
