Zhou stared at his crack filled walls, the constant booms of lightning becoming ever frequent- the stars had sun had completely vanished, plugging the skies into a crimson night.
Zhou on the other hand wasn't just staring at the walls, instead he was also looking at the strange object that appeared before him.
Sitting just a few meters away from him, was a round blackish object, with a silver outline. It's surface had oval holes which seemed to drill into it's center. Overall looking at it made Zhou's mind to experience a slight sluggishness of thought.
_what... Is that?...._ Zhou pondered while seemingly forgetting the strange phenomenon that had just occurred.
With his eyes glued at the object complexity, he couldn't help but ponder on a strange familiarity he had with the object. Though he felt the need for close inspection, the sequence of events that lead to it's appearance was questionable - and as a veteran reader, Zhou had read enough to not just touch random things.
Taking his eyes off the object, Zhou stood up and looked out through his window.
The usual bustling city had transformed into a silent crimson curtained environment, with the silence only muffled by the booms of lightning
Looking at it, Zhou couldn't help but mutter,
"The flood of Supplicant Speciality" unknown why he said that, Zhou simply chuckled softly.
_this is in no way normal, the blood moon was one thing, but total eclipse, booms of lightning and appearance of strange black object..._ Zhou heaved a sigh, _isn't it all mystical?... It's almost like the prologue of Supplicants overview"
Saying that zhou suddenly had a sense of realization as he pondered inwards,
_wait. Could this?.. is it possible that Supplicants overview turned into reality, or is this all still within the scope of coincidence?_ Zhou's lips curled up. He wasn't one to just make bold claims without prove.
Turning his head away from the window, he approached the strange object on the ground, which caused his thoughts to grow sluggish.
_ speciality or not. Which one?_
Zhou crouched down and glanced all over the object, he had no intention of touching it- since if it happened to be a speciality from Supplicants overview, then touching it would bear overly complicated problems.
After a while, a wide grin curled up on his face, his heart beating rapidly, "this is really a speciality!" He exclaimed.
With that, Zhou turned away to his phone which laid on his rather scattered bed.
Picking up, be made a bunch of swipes and clicks. Soon a interface appeared on his screen.
Search: Supplicants overview.
Result: 0
_this.._ Zhou parted his lips, "The novel is gone!"
Zhou recoiled back as his eyes slowly widened, "ha... So the novel disappeared, and the story began..."
Zhou turned back at the strange black object on his floor and softly muttered, "So this must be a speciality! A real speciality, and the only means to acquire true power in the world of Supplicants overview"
Zhou had immersed himself in the novel Supplicants overview for a long time, he had often as any other human, imagined a world like that appearing in reality, the strange powers in it being accessible to him and the world filled with mysticism a place he lived.
And now before his eyes, one such world had appeared, and a means to acquire the power before him.
Zhou quickly reined in his turmoil of emotions,
_if this is really a speciality, then I have to figure which one, to understand the powers I would gain and it's dangers_ Zhou silently muttered- he realized if this world had become a mirror of his favorite novel, then he needed this information at least in other to deduce the powers and limitations of his future enemies or allies.
After all Supplicants overview was a place where death was common place!
Zhou walked towards his bed and retrieved the red cover book, with a whiff of the cold air which strangely had a sulfuric aftertaste, Zhou got down to writing.
_firstly, the world didn't become a complete replica of Supplicants overview, instead it seems like only the primary things like powers and weather experienced a change, also that might mean that the characters in overview might not exist here, or they exist but instead are incorporated into the world.
_ok.. that's good. Now how do I survive in this world?_
Zhou glanced back at the strange round object on his room floor and softly muttered, "speciality, no no, it's better to call it the fruit of Eden as that is what it is called in the novel ... Or is that a mouthful? I probably should be calling it speciality for now."
The speciality before Zhou was the only way to acquire power in Supplicants overview. Those who eat it gets transformed into a mystical being, and as a consequence acquire the power of the Supplicants, but they also have to deal with the risk of suddenly being replaced by a persona that lies within the fruit.
In the world of overview, this was regraded as the loss of humanity!
_lose of humanity, ha.. I don't really want that happening to me_ Zhou glanced at his notebook, with a pen he hand, he slowed his pace as he wrote,
_According to the novel, the creator awoke from the darkness and drew a veil over it, creating the first light of the universe. He then fashioned 14 spirits from himself, with each of them embodying a certain aspect of the universe. The spirits became the land and stars, the skies and seas, the sun and the moon, the light and darkness._
Zhou paused when he wrote that, partially because he had some block remembering the old details of the novel.
_damnit. This would be a whole lot easier if the novel didn't disappear..._ he sighed, _did the writer decide to be a champ and take it down?_ Zhou silently lampooned.
After a while of deep thought, Zhou managed to recall the information he needed, _ths 14 spirits were dividend into two, with the first seven regarded as the holy or Orthodox gods while the other regarded as the heretical gods. The Orthodox gods created the humans, giants, dragons, elf's, vampires and dwarfs. While the heretic god's were responsible for creating the depraved creatures, like werewolves, vampires, zombies, phoenix, and demonic beasts
According to the conclusion, humans in Supplicants overview were protected by the holy gods and each god bestowed humanity access to their corresponding speciality. This was meant that each branch or set of branches corresponds to a specific deity, either Orthodox or unorthodox,_
Zhou paused for a while before pondering, _if the fruits exists, does that mean that corresponding deity exists as well? If that's so it will be very problematic, as each God possesses certain authority over their branches._
After a while of deep pondering, Zhou simply shrugged off, _what does it matter, if it's the way to aquire power, so be it_
After that, Zhou continued with his writing,
_after a certain while, humans discovered truly that each branch can only create 24 Supplicants, as their are only 24 fruits or speciality within each branch. They also discovered that the power held within a specialty could be grown and enhanced through a number of ways. They could either cultivate it, fullfil it's requirements, or become lucky enough to have Talent. Which in mysticism meant one being closely similar in character to the oldest creator.
Each branch bears a name which is in turn shared by all fruits within it. Some branches might have overly defensive or offensive powers, while others seem to be a mash of both. Regardless, two individuals even after consuming the same speciality might not gain the same starting ability, as that is influenced by talent. Higher talent meant higher tiered powers._
Zhou rubbed his temples, as a slight headache persisted within him,
_the tier system was developed to distinguish the different strengths within a specialty. The lowest tier was 1 while the highest was 10- which was also regarded as the Demi-god tier. Talent influenced wether a person would start at tier 1 or a higher tier, but no matter which tier they start out, they will equally acquire the powers below the tier. As such a tier 3 starting Supplicant, will subsequently acquire the powers below tier 3.
After a specialty is consumed, and a starting tier is assigned, the Supplicant will have to either cultivate the fruit by merging his spirituality with that of the corresponding specialities source, fullfil the requirements imposed by the Speciality or simply increase his talent by becoming more alike with the oldest creator, but doing so will increase the chances of losing ones humanity."
Zhou shut his eyes, an attempt to recall the true names of the branches. He knew that even in the world of Supplicants overview, the knowledge of branches was an extremely converted secret, and most families within the story had their power through it.
And right now, he needed to figure out what branch the speciality before him belonged to.
_hmm I only remember a few, but I can't link the corresponding image of the speciality with the branches I know, since I didn't really pay much attention how each branch speciality looked like in the novel_
Hisszz... he exclaimed,
_Which one is it?_
