Carter set the heavy container of potatoes down on the counter and wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand. It was getting more exhausting to make meals for the restaurant, but it was worth it. He loved the feeling he got from working there and from the smiling faces. Because of him, a ton of people were being fed and taken care of. The snow was getting deeper and the weather was getting colder.
Ariana walked into the kitchen with another bin of celery. "So, how many kinds of soup do you make during the winter?"
"Various flavors, to be honest. Soup is the best way to warm up and the easiest to do for a ton of people." Carter shrugged and began to dice the potatoes.
Ariana grabbed a cutting board and began to chop the celery. "True."
Daniel ran in and nearly tumbled into Carter and he raised his hands. "Woah! Careful in the kitchen."
