Chapter 159: Dropping the News

Ariana and Carter sat on the laptop in their hotel room in front of a table of their employees. He played with his steel watch as the nerves took over. He wasn't sure how the team would receive the news that Adalee was no longer a part of Anderson. He could tell that Ariana was just as uneasy, if not more than he was. Carter worried about her and how she would take it if the team blew up in anger over what happened.

He took a deep breath and adjusted his navy suit coat with his slender hands, causing his silver ring to spark in the light of the room. He cleared his throat and got ready to spill the news about his late assistant.

"Hello everyone. I'm sure you're all wondering why I called you all to this impromptu meeting." Carter swallowed hard and watched several people nod. "I gathered as much. You may have noticed that Ms. Hail is no longer in the office and hasn't been in for quite some time."
