Restart

"Two breaches within three weeks!!" Co-Director Tilda.D Moose exclaimed.

I looked around the meeting room. About the previous day's breach. Aaron was leaning on the wall behind me, his arms folded and eyes narrowed at the table. My hands were cuffed to my chair, which was fused to the floor.

"This is a disaster," Tilda leaned into her palm, "How did they sneak past our detection?"

"It appears they possesed a wave scrambler with them," Joseph Crawford, head of security spoke up, "They used it to glitch the system and drill the hole."

"Did we find out where the tunnel led?"

"It leads above ground about a mile away," Joseph spoke again, "They must have been working on it for a while."

"There might be more tunnels," Tilda turned to the person on her left, "Lei, can you handle the search?"

"Yes Co-Director," She spoke.

"Good. Head off with your team right now," Tilda turned back to the table as Lei left the room, "One thing isn't right, however. They've gone after 105 twice now," She beckoned to me, "Why go after this SCP? Why not SCP-239? That one's way more important."

"Gee," I rolled my eyes, "Thanks."

"Besides!" Tilda continued, "Didn't it just finish training again? How were they able to overpower 105?"

"The Skip's right here, Tilda," One spoke up, "Just ask it. Was it plotting with them and only pretending to be captured?"

"Hey!" Aaron and I both snapped at the same time. Aaron continued, "She was overpowered! This attack was very planned out it seems. They waited till the site director left to strike, and they even stole an MTF uniform."

Tilda frowned at him, "You were supposed to guard it, were you not?"

"Only on missions," Aaron spoke, "besides I managed to contain her after the attack."

"Very contained," I looked at my cuffs, "By the way, why am I here? Can't you ladies have your tea party without me?"

"We are trying to figure out what happened, SKIP," Tilda hissed.

"Yes, but I've already told you everything," I put my feet on the table, "If not, that's ok. I'll get comfy right here."

Tilda glared at me, her left eye twitching, "Aaron."

"Yes, Co-Director?"

"Take this 'SKIP' to its cell," Tilda rubbed her temple, "We don't need it here anymore."

"Yes, Co-Director," Aaron got me out of the chair, cuffed me, and walked me out, the door closing behind me.

I smiled to myself, "Finally. That was starting to bore me."

Aaron sighed, "And you wonder why people here don't like SCPs."

I looked at him with a sour expression, "Well they started it."

He rolled his eyes, "Will egging it on like that help anything?"

I turned away and bowed my head, "No."

Aaron smiled, "It was funny though, I won't lie about that."

I slowed my pace to be next to him, "Really?"

He nodded, "She's a bit of a pain in my side sometimes. I enjoy seeing karma catch up to people."

I chuckled, "For an MTF agent, you're very chaotic."

He looked at me through the crack of his eye, "Hey, I think we got off to a rough start before. I was kind of a jerk," I raised an eyebrow as he continued, "I just don't fully trust Skip- SCPs. I've had a bad experience with a few SCPs, or as Barnum says, a few rough years."

I winced, "You heard that?"

He nodded, "I followed you and 'Mickey' to the room before I went and got help. I heard everything."

I looked down and fidgeted with my handcuffs, "Sorry."

"It's ok," Aaron shrugged, "I wasn't being the friendliest either. I deserved it." I frowned as he continued, "So perhaps, we can try again?"

I looked up at him. His face was apologetic, with no goofiness in his eyes. His scar wrinkled as his eyebrows curved.

He held out his hand, "Hello SCP-105, My name is Aaron Martinez."

I smiled and reached out to take his hand, "Hello, I am Iris Thompson."

He laughed, "Nice to meet you, Iris."

Footsteps grew louder from our right. An MTF turned the corner in front of us, "You two are needed at the loading dock, #25. 105's transport is ready. You can uncuff SCP-105."

"Can we have some ID?" Aaron asked.

The guard pulled a keycard from his belt, "MTF 986, Alpha 1."

"Thank you," Aaron uncuffed me and began towards the transport. I rubbed my arms and took a deep breath.

"You nervous?" Aaron asked.

"No," I smiled, "I'm excited."

The helicopter door opened and I stepped out onto the ground. Finally, after a 17-hour flight, I was in Australia. It was surprisingly warmer than I'd expected. It felt a lot like home, however. Aaron jumped out next to me, "Ah, Australia. Good to be back."

"You've been here before?"

"Yeah," He shivered, "We had to contain an escaped SCP here a long time ago."

"Who was-

"Iris!" A voice called. I barely turned when I was scooped up into a hug.

My reflexes hit me and I planted my feet onto the ground, grabbing the person's arm. Using their weight and momentum, I pulled them over my back and flipped them onto the ground. I turned to get a look at him. The person that hugged me was a guy, a bit shorter than me, with light brown eyes and brown hair that was slightly red. He wore a lab coat over a hoodie and wore glasses. My eyes looked to his chest where a silver pendent hung from around his neck with a red gem in the middle.

I recognized it.

It was Dr. Bright's pendant.

"Owch," The guy chuckled, "That hurt."

I raised an eyebrow, "Who-"

"Ah! Dr. Bright!" Aaron appeared next to me and reached down to the guy, "I am so sorry. I didn't tell her-"

"Dr. Bright?" I echoed.

"It's fine, it's fine," The guy stood up, "Yes, Iris. I'm here." He smiled at me, "You never knew my anomalies abilities, did you?"

I shook my head, "If I had to guess... you can shift into different people?"

Bright laughed, "No, but close. See, it's this pendant," he held up his pendant, keeping the loop around his neck, "If it's placed on other people, they kind of become brain dead and I can possess them."

"Wow!" I took a closer look at the pendant, "Does it work on animals?"

"Sort of," Bright smiled mischievously, "Watch this." He lifted the pendant over his head. Suddenly, his eyes went blank and he crumpled to the ground.

I yelped in surprise, "Dr. Bright!"

Aaron rolled his eyes, "Oh come on, Jack." He pulled a glove from his pocket and slipped it on, picking up the pendant with it.

Aaron slipped it onto the body and its eyes lit up again. Bright blinked awake, "Ta daaaaaa!"

I stared at him for a second, "um... ok. So you can take over anyone who wears the pendant?"

"Not take over," Bright stood up, "More like their consciousness is removed permanently, and I kind of just... ok yeah. Take over."

I scrunched my face in confusion, "I still don't get it."

Bright opened his mouth to speak when Aaron jumped in, "I'll give you his file to read later. Come on, we got a mission to do."

Aaron turned away and walked to Dr. Roth. Bright looked at me, then back to him, "What was that?"

"What do you mean?"

"He just offered to do something nice for you."

"Yeah. And?"

"I thought he hated SCPs."

I shrugged, "We talked a bit, so he's getting better at it."

Bright looked back at Aaron then shrugged, "Screw this, I need some coffee."
