EVA'S POV
I successfully snuck out and stood in a corner waiting for Adrian. For forty minutes, I kept waiting, but there was no sign of Adrian anywhere.
"What was going on? Where was Adrian?" I thought to myself as I became slightly worried.
A few moments later, Jeremy, Adrian's friend, passed by where I was standing.
"Jeremy," I called out to him. He turned to me and smiled.
"Oh, Eva, how are you? And how's your father? Hope everything is going well?"
"Fine. Everything is fine. Quick question, Adrian, did you see him anywhere?"
"Adrian is not with you?" He asked with a confused look on his face which made my eyes widen at the question.
"No, as you can see he's not here with me. I've been standing here waiting for him. He said he would meet me when his classes were over," I explained to Jeremy.
"That's strange because he left, saying he was going to see you."
"See me? Did he tell you where I was?"
"No, he didn't tell me anything like that. Well, I have another class to attend if you don't mind, may I leave now?"
"Yeah sure, thank you."
"Did Adrian think I was already gone? Or did he intentionally leave," I pondered to myself.
Something was wrong. My boyfriend was not the one to do that, especially when he knew I was here waiting for him.
"Maybe I should go find out where he went," I said, before getting into my car and driving off.
It was like I had no destination, I drove past many rural packs, and kept moving on, particularly not knowing where I was going. I stopped driving and packed my car under a shed. My hands were getting pale, and my body was beginning to protest. I was becoming nervous and anxious.
Suddenly, a message alert bumped up on my phone, and I picked it up to check who it was.
"Goodness, it was Adrian," I said because I felt excited that I finally got to hear from him.
I opened up the message and saw that he sent me a text telling me where he was and apologizing for leaving so soon without informing me first. I started my car to drive back to the address where he texted me. It seems like I had gone far past there.
I eventually got to a venue and I stopped the car when I saw a familiar address as the one in the text message. It seemed as though this was the house so I stepped out of the car. I walked towards the house, with high expectations in my mind.
"Was Adrian preparing a surprise for me? Was he planning something exciting? I can't wait to see him."
I made my way slowly to the house. When I got inside, I looked around and noticed that the house was stuffy like it had been abandoned long ago, and rugged crochet antimacassars laid on the chairs. I moved on, quietly, not knowing where I was heading to. I walked a few meters, before stopping at a door to a room. Slowly, opening it, I saw the most shocking thing of my life.
Adrian was with another girl, and they were getting into each other, kissing and smooching. Her face seemed familiar, but I didn't know who the hell she was and that didn't matter to me right now. I couldn't say anything, I just stared at them with my mouth wide open in surprise.
"Adrian…" his name escaped my lips. He heard my voice and turned.
"Oh my goodness!! Eva, what are you doing here? How did you get here? How did you know where I was?" He asked, with no remorse glinting on his face.
"What?? Is that what you are asking me when you called me here to come to meet up with you here?"
"What do you mean? No Eva, listen to me that's not it," he said as he tried to defend himself.
Tears welled up in my eyes but I tried to choke back the tears. I stood there in shock as he slowly walked up to me.
"Stop right there!! Do not touch me!" I yelled when his hands stretched forward to touch my face.
"Listen, Eva, you don't understand. Allow me to ... I can…"
"Don't explain anything to me, Adrian. You are full of sh*t."
"Listen to me, Eva!!" He yelled at me, grabbing me by my hair and grabbing my hand.
"Adrian! Adrian!! Leave me right now before I do something nasty to you," I shouted and tried to wriggle myself free from his hold.
"What is wrong with you? Why are you so strong-headed? I am trying so hard to explain something to you but you don't want to listen to me!" He bawled, his eyes emitting red fumes of fire.
"Just leave her alone. She's not worth your energy," his girl, by his side, said.
"I think we should pity her." She added.
"No Linda," he retorted. "Eva needs to be aware of everything. She needs to know that she has been the greatest curse I have ever gotten myself into!" He yelled.
His words hit me hard. The words were like a hot dagger twisting deep into my bones, and I began tearing up as I couldn't hold back the tears anymore.
"Oh please, stop shedding crocodile tears. You have not found your wolf, so how can we be together? I am not so sure, you're my mate, so why do I have to keep waiting?"
"You?? You are a bastard," I cursed to his face. "You don't know what my father would do when he finds out about this!"
"He wouldn't do anything to me and besides, you are the cause of everything. The dream I never wanted to plunge into. The rotten carcass I never wanted to feed on, and the wolfless daughter of a bloke alpha I never wanted to fall in love with. That's all you!" He said, and slapped me hard, leaving me to fall to the ground.
"Hahaha.. but, you know what? You have discovered us," he said, turning to Linda, perhaps her name, that is the girl who was standing beside him.
"I think we should just take care of her," he said and made a funny expression on his face.
"What? What do you mean by that Adrian?!" I asked him in fear.
"Was I going to be killed now?" I cried out, defenseless.
"What could I do now? If only I had a wolf to summon, I would just escape." I thought to myself as I sat on the ground staring at Adrian and this Linda girl.
I noticed that his gaze shifted to the knife on the dirty table that was nearby, he took it and he pointed it toward me.
The next thing that happened was that I was stained with blood as I sat on Linda, jabbing her with a knife, while Adrian flew off from the scene. The only thing I could remember was that something horrible happened.
"A pool of blood, and a dead person. What was going on? Everything happened fast, something like a dream."
"This was a dream I never want to remember again, and forever….
