Chapter 1Just Another Ordinary Day

Hao Ren[1], being true to his name, was a good man.

Living in an unimportant town north outside of Beijing, his house was so far-off that it could hardly be counted as a part of the capital city. He was twenty-something, a little macho with a big square face, the type of common face that would not leave a very strong impression on those that passed him by. His ultimate goal in life was to be a good man.

Summer had just begun; the sun during the day was so scorching hot that even the town’s high altitude didn’t help to ease the unbearable heat. There was little wonder that only a handful of pedestrians were seen traversing on the walkways along the streets that were packed with moving vehicles. Hao Ren, in his grey pants and white t-shirt, was walking down the street under the shades of the trees and buildings with a few pieces of paper in his hands. He was sweating profusely. The annoying horn blares from the passing vehicles and the high pitch buzz of the cicadas on the trees on that summer’s morning did not help either.. Despite the unforgiving situation, he kept moving and glanced occasionally at the papers in his hand—two sheets on job advertisements and a flyer which he picked up from a school girl in the square. Printed on the flyer were photos of a sweet-smiling girl with a row of words underneath, reading: Jing Rong Obstetric and Gynaeocology Specialist Hospital, specialising in...

He felt that it was unprofessional for the school girl who passed him the flyer; he wouldn’t have passed out flyer to anyone seemingly penniless like him. That being said, the hard paper flyer did make an excellent paper fan.

"Last two interviews. If these still don’t work out, I’ll call it a day." Hao Ren mumbled with the job flyers still in his hands. He figured he could complete those two ‘missions’ relatively quickly as the two locations were just around the corner. One of them was just a stone’s throw away across the street; it was an advertising agency with an unassuming (same meaning with façade) facade, but its name was in - the - face: Galaxy Media Pan-Cultural Development Co., any business with such a name was destined to fail in half a year. But what motivated Hao Ren was not the job interview itself but the curiosity to find out what kind of a person the owner who came out with such a grandiloquent name was.

He strode a few hundred meters down the pedestrian walkway with full enthusiasm. Enduring the scorching sun, he maneuvered around the road barrier and came up to the front of the grandiloquently-named advertising agency only to find that it was shuttered! A notice pasted on the glass door entrance indicating that the agency had closed down two days ago. But the job advertisement was dated only four days ago... What a dramatic change! Was the agency looking for some kind of scapegoat before it went under?

Hao Ren crumpled the job flyer in his hand before discarding it into the refuse bin on the side of the walkway. He lowered his gaze and looked at the second job flyer before binning in the same refuse bin. He couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that he had gone for job interviews that were totally at odd with who he was; an office job in a public transport company, someone who has to be hardworking, possessing computer knowledge and working experience and has to be a lady of 25-40 years old!

There was nothing sillier than coming all the way to town for a job interview only to find himself standing in front of a company that had closed down two days ago!

Hao Ren, , 25 years of age, was a man with no noteworthy bad habits, not particularly choosy about what to eat, still a bachelor who had a few friends or relatives, living alone in a house he inherited from his parents in the old section south of town. He was a typical youngster of those days, aiming for a 5-figure income at the age of 25, marrying a pretty wife and owning a car (if that was at all possible). He did not have the chance to show his filial piety as his parents were dead. But by living decently, he at least salvaged his family’s name and had achieved one third of his goals.

His life was a sad story.

He came looking for a job in town. But there was nothing necessitating him to do so as he owned an old house passed down by his parents—it was a two storeys building that had been converted into an apartment.

For years, Hao Ren was living off the rental of the apartment. It had enabled him to live somewhat comfortably, it didn’t make him rich. The apartment was in the middle of nowhere and it seems unlikely that the government will resume the local development in the near foreseeable future.

Frankly, there was not, in the slightest, the need for Hao Ren to find a job for the time being. But perhaps he was in his comfort zone for far too long, he felt he needed some challenges and exploration. Besides, there was another important reason—his apartment was in a far-flung corner of the countryside where it was literally cut off from any civilization. Since the last farmer couples moved out half a year ago, the apartment had not harbor any new tenant. There was an uneasiness which he found hard to ignore: unless development was forthcoming, it would not be long before he had to look for a job.

After spending three days at home immersing himself in doing some urban planning research, Hao Ren came to the inevitable conclusion that the probability of his area being turned into a commercial zone was slim, not in a month of Sundays. Which meant, he had to plan ahead and begin to find a job.

He used to work part-time to pay for college, so he figured it wouldn’t be at all that difficult to going out there and getting a job wasn’t at all that difficult.

But fate played cruel tricks on him, leaving him empty-handed on the first day.

He stretched and decided to call it a day. He found a bench under a tree in a park nearby where he could wait out the sweltering afternoon before heading to a restaurant to grab a bite and go home. Amid the sprawling developments going on around the town, it still preserve a little oasis as such for people to find some serenity.

He wiped the bench clean before lying lazily on his back for a nap. He covered his face with the flyer from the pretty girl to block out the sun rays leaking through the leaves overhead. Of course he was still alert as incidents of pickpocketing were on the rise. It didn’t matter the fact that he was penniless, being pickpocketed was the last thing he needed; all he wanted was just to take a brief nap to refresh himself.

Before he could doze off, he sensed a shadow over him— it could be someone right beside him. He removed the flyer from his face and was shocked to find that the sun had almost set. And there, a person was standing right next to him at just the right angle to cast a shadow over him. He could barely see the person’s face. But judging from the slender body and facial contour, he could tell it was a girl with short hair.

"Hey, are you awake?"

As the girl spoke, she kept waving to him as if they knew each other. Hao Ren bounced up and feeling a little drowsy, he did a reality check by examining his surroundings to make sure he wasn’t dreaming—it was indeed sunset. He then looked up to the girl in front. The girl realized she was in the backlight, so she moved a little to the side so that she could be seen more clearly.

Hao Ren got a first proper look at the girl and his first impression of the girl was that she was as beautiful as a goddess.

The girl was simply dressed—a white slim fit top with a childish puppy ornament on the collar matched with a dark color shorts and a pair of casual shoes—very much like a college student who was skipping classes; her hair was shoulder length and her skin was wheat, a typical sporty and sunshine girl. She was pretty, especially her lustrous eyes, which were the most beautiful Hao Ren had ever seen.

Behind her was a huge luggage.

She looked at Hao Ren who appeared a little loopy. She smiled like a Cheshire cat (maybe the description was a little far off, but that was what Hao Ren thought of her). These days it is hard to find that kind of innocent smile among girls of her age. She tucked her hand inside her little bag, purportedly searching for something. It took her a while before she found a crumpled piece of paper and handed it to him. "Could you please tell me where this place is?" she asked.

Hao Ren patted himself on the face, attempting to rid himself of the grogginess. He took a look at the flyer and saw the address written on the paper... Uaah! Isn’t that my house?!

Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

"Dragons and their spawn rule the skies, the land, and the seas... humanity survives in the cracks, dreaming of a comeback." _____ Power comes from the beast you tame. Wolves, hawks, snakes, spiders, chimeras, the stronger your summon, the brighter your future. Too bad for our protagonist. When everyone else summoned salamanders, eagles, troll dogs(not doge) or tigers, he got… Well, let’s just say the only thing lower on the food chain is dirt. Laughed at, bullied, and living as the butt of every joke, he’s not exactly winning. But giving up isn’t an option... His aging parents sold everything for his "failed" chance, and he won’t let it be for nothing. But hey, this is his story. The weakest beast tamer? Here’s the thing about being at the bottom: it teaches you how to climb. And dragons? Turns out they start small too. As kingdoms crumble under greed and external threats, the weakest tamer begins his rise. Follow his path as he unlocks a potential so rare, so terrifying, it leads to dragons… Every evolutionary line leads to the strongest ‘SSS Dragons’. _______ Warning: Contains world-ending dragons, ridicule-fueled underdog revenge, dragon-scaled protagonist, morally questionable nobles, insane creature evolutions and enough twists to make you wonder if weakest really means luckiest. A MC who’s out to prove everyone wrong… even if it kills him. Spoiler alert: It won’t. For those who love a whole lot of fun, this one’s for you. If you’re looking for a darker story, look somewhere else (Maybe Utopian System (;) This one’s about having fun and taming expectations. _______ If you want to know more about the cover: Yep, that's Luna, the FL... Her skin and clothes are morphing into shimmering scales from her dragon power. Remember Sailor Moon? Magical girls? Now imagine if the magical outfit wasn’t a cute dress, but an actual dragon! The dragon is the dress... It’s not just fashion; it’s fusion. High-level beasts tend to leave their mark, and Luna wears it like a boss, pulling off the ultimate power move. _______ We will use the same Discord from my first book, come join! https://discord.gg/W3CjfC2cw4 _______ Silly tags that seem to matter a lot to some readers: No Yaoi, No Yuri, Possibly Harem (Vote! I can write either, and in any case, there will be multiple girls. The only difference is whether he chooses one in the end or goes the "liberal" route.... democracy is yours!), No NTR.

Earth's Greatest Magus

#Top 20 Webnovel Best Sellers 2021, 2022, 2023, and in 2024 #### History is said to be written by the victors. If so, how about Earth's history? Two millennia ago, a young boy named Emery met a tragic fate. In his final moments, he was transmigrated and accepted into the Universe's most prestigious school of magic. “You are among the chosen few from thousands of human worlds. Whether you seize this opportunity or not, is up to you. You are at Magus Academy, the pinnacle of humanity's ingenuity. Magic, science, and might are all within reach for those who dare to pursue them." [Scan complete - Quadruple affinity. Water, Earth, Plant, and Darkness.] "A quadruple acolyte! Only one in tens of thousands of acolytes possess this!" Thus began Emery’s journey together with his 4 friends from the furthest corner of Earth. Each year they returned to Earth to grow, seek revenge, save the princess, conquer the world, and become Earth's Greatest Magus. Their names are still etched in our history books to this day. Authors Note: I have always been fascinated by writing fantasy relating to historical facts. In this story, you will find characters inspired by real-world myth and legend. The universe I created hopefully will make the reader's imagination excited and logically plausible. I hope you enjoy it. ### Here are some key aspects you'll encounter: MC: The protagonist follows the classic weak-to-strong arc. World: Picture a blend of Harry Potter and Star Wars. System: While it's primarily a magic-based story, there's a structured system in place that's easy to follow. Additionally, elements of cultivation. Harem: No, there are several female interests. But I enjoy romance first. So even if there will be more than one love interest it will be deep. Note: English is not my first language, but you'll notice that my writing and English skills gradually improve throughout the chapters. Other: The novel delves into deep research on science and history, enriching the storyline with factual and intriguing details. Give it a read—you might be pleasantly surprised by what unfolds. I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Across the vast convolution of worlds, divine beings rule as absolute sovereigns—each god assigned dominion over a singular realm. Skirmishes are inevitable, whether for power, amusement, or sheer pettiness. One such battle, between Nexus, the God of Trickery, and an aging, senile deity, resulted in an anomaly… A soul misplaced. Elliot, an ordinary man, was never meant for Ul’Tra-el. But fate, or perhaps a cosmic prank, had other plans. Unlike other worlds, Ul’Tra-el is an aberration—one that developed a voice. A voice that diverged from the natural order. A voice that changed everything. Its foundation cracked, leaking dimensions into one another. Rifts tore open like festering wounds, vomiting forth unspeakable horrors—monsters not meant to exist. But the world did not sit idly by. In response—perhaps an act of self-preservation—the world gifted its inhabitants power. Talents awakened, granting people extraordinary abilities. And for every rift sealed, the Voice of Ul rewarded them generously. Survival was simple: fight, grow stronger, and close the rifts… or die trying. In this ruthless, blood-soaked reality, Northern—a white-haired boy burdened by his past life—was reincarnated. But unlike the chosen heroes, he awakened as a talentless nobody. No power. No strength. No future. And when death loomed over him—when despair clawed at his soul and the cold grip of the failure threatened to take him— A Voice responded: [System Notice] [Your Soul cannot take a form.] [Searching for a Unique Pattern Ability…] [Searching…] [Search Found.] [A Unique System Ability has been detected.] [You Can Copy And Evolve Talents] ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.

RUC tells the story of Hao Ren, an everyday good guy living in China. One day, he decides to rent out the rooms in his apartment for some extra income. When his ad gets answered, he finds that his tenants are more than what they appear to be. The translation quality is satisfactory and the use of English is fairly good. However, this I believe will continue to be improved on for a better reading experience. Chapters are also released regularly every week. The current rate is at 11 chapters and this may increase in the future. RUC's plot develops at a steady pace; not too fast and not too slow. New characters are introduced during key points of the story so it's easy to follow. The premise is similar to many fantasy/adventure anime's where the protagonist happens along new comrades as he gets himself involved in various scenarios. Think One Piece but instead of pirates, you have your classic monsters, creatures and cryptids of all sorts. Sometimes, when reading a Chinese novel, you may find an issue where the author tends to repeat certain details again and again throughout the story. This rarely happens in this narrative. As for its characters, they are pretty common when it comes to the fantasy genre. There's the standard vampire, werewolf, demons and etc. However what sets them apart are their weird quirks and personalities. This adds to the humour in the story. It'll be interesting to see how the ensemble of characters continue to grow and what unusual creature will be added next. No fantasy novel is incomplete without its own world or world's in this case. The characters' adventures take them to various places on Earth and also out of Earth. Here we can see them travel into what looks like outer space. This gives it a Star-Trek like vibe so you have a mash of fantasy and sci-fi at some points of the story. It's an odd combination. On one hand you're dealing with creatures from the Victorian Era or even older and on the other, you're dealing with beings of supposedly higher order, which seem very similar to aliens. Readers will either like how different it is or find it absurd. One will have to read the novel to truly decide.

I did not expect this because i am cheering for the other Hao Ren character on another novel. This is the first time i provided 2 reviews on a book and may do more. First it started as gathering several tenants or supernatural misfits. What's interesting is you have werewolves, vampires, demons. Eh pretty natural as you say, then you have a siren, a mermaid, supernatural people, practically immortals. Then elves, dragons and everything that you can find in an mmorpg. The next thing you know you have the mythological gods, giants and that sort of thing, the best thing of all an AI brick. MDT is one of the characters that i think got whacked in the brain and very fitting to be Hao Ren's personal device. It's a kind of slice of life-ish with plot details that attributes on the main plot line. I really loved the evacuation and it picked up. At times i feel detached and be an observer like Hao Ren who stays true to himself, i feel he is no longer human after the first part but a really fitting MC for this. He is not a pervert and no racist stuff here which is very refreshing (this is one of the 3 novels that have no racism on another's ethnicity that i have read). The guy had been to Britain, Greece, Russia and South America because of his work but it goes to show that there are far more things that have been at work to dawdle on ethnicity which the author had highlighted. At one point, because there are larger than humanity experiences, i think its kinda lovecraftian in a way but 100 times more happier (definitely happier than the trading club novel). Because humans are not alone in this world which author points out and life, life always has a way as the author portrayed in several survivals of the civilizations. Congratulations on reaching 1000 chapters and to translator, i feel my spirit stones are in your good hands. Keep it up!
