Spawning

Preparations began. Housing was put up in order to accommodate the new guests. Nobody had any idea where the first wave would spawn. Walls were magically put up and a few of the lowest tier gods from the mythology class fortified the walls, along with some of the strongest wizards. Kids ran back and forth gathering supplies. Amudo strolled over to the horses where a boy was putting saddles on them.

"Ever rode before?" Asked the boy. He slapped the back of a spotted black and white one that he had just finished saddling up and moved to the next one.

"No, but I think I'm going to have to learn." replied Amudo looking towards the winged horses and tamed dragons.

"Why don't you just download it from the storm?" asked the boy without looking. He was almost finished with this one too. Amudo's face darkened and he scowled.

"I don't trust them."

"Why not? They pay us and control the whole world fairly. A while ago, people didn't trust the government because they instated unfair laws that caused fighting. That was fixed when we all united and the government repaired the bad laws." said the boy, not quite sure what was up with this world's protagonist.

"They kill people. People die in these games trying to gain favor from them. They do stupid quests for stupid ranks! My dad held me out because I didn't want to suffer the same fate. The government found out and forced me back into the system." Snapped Amudo angrily clenching his fists until his knuckles turned white.

"I've never thought about it that way. Didn't you say you came back? Does that mean you already played?" inquired the boy in realization.

"Yes. I lost everyone. My world ended when a quest lured everyone into a massaker. The system has no regard for our lives." Amudo punched the wall knocking down a bucket of water, startling the horse.

"I-I don't know what to say… you know what? Let's start over. My name's Jack. What's yours?" he held out his hand for Amudo to shake.

"Amudo. I'm sorry for ranting like that. I guess I still haven't gotten over it." He looked over at the walls dividing each house from each other. They were being put up in order to protect as many people as possible from the random spawn points. "I'm going to go help put up some safe shelters for you guys. Thanks, Jack." He strode away towards the walls being built.

The dawn of a new day arrived. [ 2 hours, 17 minutes, 21 seconds ] preparations were finished. Tall stone walls had been put up every 6 houses. Safe areas were built high in the sky, perfect for sniping. There were no points of entry. Nobody in, or out. Food reserves were piled high in each house. Sniper robots and movement detectors were everywhere, installed by the Sci-fi people. Each town's warriors suited up and climbed on a winged horse. A large ring circled the town perfect for catching the monsters that spawned.

"It's most likely a simple ground attack where you need to kill all of them to move on." A girl dressed as a pilgrim had said, "That's what we had to deal with." a lot of others had agreed. Long bridges that modeled the rope bridges were strung from the towns walls to the outer walls for perfect sniper points. With the help of magic and technology, the walls were able to be put up in only a few hours, 7 stories high. Magic barriers encased sniping spots and heroes were stationed in each sector.

"This is as ready as we'll ever get." said Amudo looking at their work. The walls were solid, but would have to be reinforced once the wave was over. He swiped up to look at his profile. [ COMMENCING in 5… 4… 3…] he held his breath, [ 2… 1… BEGINNING APOCALYPSE STAGE ONE ] Then the ground opened up. Amudo fell through the new crack and hit the ground with a thump. He opened his eyes. It was dark. Almost pitch black. He was about to float out when a hand reached up and pulled him back down. "AAAUUGH!" let out Amudo as he was dragged back down to the cold floor with a bump. He kicked the claw off. There, he saw a set of glowing red eyes, with plenty more behind it. "Of course they decide to spawn under me, of all people." grunted Amudo, activating his magic. The soft glow let him see better. The beasts were large animals with huge claws and teeth. They seemed to be a hybrid of a dog, and a bat. He opened his hand. PING [ SKILL : MAGIC BOW Activated ] It glowed an electric bow. When he touched the string a glowing arrow spawned in his hand. He held steady and aimed at the beast. It was close. A bow would have no effect on them. He let go and surely enough, it bounced off disintegrating into small particles of light. "Screw it." He murmured and punched it in the nose. He wiped the blood coming from his knuckles on his shirt. He wound up for another punch when a new notification stopped him. [ New Skill unlocked : PERSEUS'S HARPE - MEDUSA SLAYER - RANK 4 - TRAITS : Sword of no healing. No unnatural ways of healing will affect the wound this sword inflicts ] A sword with a hook in it glowed then settled in his hand. "Oh, y'all are done for now." grinned Amudo and swung the sword. It sliced through their necks perfectly and soon none were left. PING [ New recipe unlocked : LOW LEVEL MONSTER MEAT ] Down a small path, a chest spawned and Amudo strolled down to open it. [ SKILL BOOK : PORTAL : Opens a temporary portal to anywhere you have seen or been to ] "Cool." Breathed Amudo and opened a portal to the horse stable.
