The pools , corruption and experiment

Has we were flying to the pools I was looking at my new skills not being surprised at the ones that had maxed out and the new ones that appeared

Some of the skills impressed me , particularly the magic infusion one since I could basically mess with the constitution of stuff and possibly create something new like adamantium by changing metal , but to do that I would have to know it's structure or maybe experiment but it would be hard to know when I succeeded since there was no main material. Basically all the skills Ozma had where very helpful at this moment and had a lot of potential , a shame they couldn't level up further.

After 3 hour of continuous flight we finally saw The Land of Darkness , at least that's what Salem called it. Has soon has we entered its lands I could feel a dark and repulsive aura in the surrounding , 'Probably form the pools' I thought has we continued to fly until we saw the large lake the God of Darkness probably resided , has we slowly landed on the red soil the grimm started surrounding us but with a wave of Salem's hand they opened a path to us.

After we approached the black waters Salem asked me "What do you want to do here love? Surely you can't be thinking of jumping in like me right?" , I smiled at her and said "No I don't plan on doing that but something else" has we reached the shores of the pools I used manipulated my magic to create a bowl made of pure energy and I used it to scoop some of the black water and brought it so me and used the observe skill on it

<Grimm Water> (A viscous, tar-like substance capable of spawning large numbers of Grimm and cause great destruction to its surroundings. If consumed or submerged in it a being could either mutate or face complete destruction. If the being's body is successfully mutated due to its corrupting capabilities the being's soul and mind would be affected and become more corrupted over time)

Has I saw its description I tried channeling my skill [Magic Infusion] to understand its composition , that is if it even had one , and modify it to change or completely remove its side effects while thinking 'Its probably this side effect that changed Salem's mind to a more destructive nature , so maybe with this new skill I could change it and maybe try to erase the side effects on Salem too' has the skill was channeled successfully into the black waters I could feel it's destructive and corruptive nature , and while changing my magic into a light one I tried to erase this effect it had on the mind.

But when my light magic came in contact with it started to react violently which surprised me since it looked has it was alive and boiling to the naked eye in the bowl , luckily I made it with magic and isolated it has soon has it began to react. 'It seems that I can't destroy this side effects' , has I was thinking and experimenting with the waters Salem called a grimm and sat on it while watching me and asked "What are you doing?" to which I said while absent minded "I'm trying to erase it's side effects by channeling light magic into it but it seems I can't has it reacts badly and instead of changing they keep clashing" has I was saying that I tried strengthening the light magic but has soon has I did that the water turned to dust and I was surprised at this since it was a reaction out of the expected since it was a liquid.

After this failure I shaked my head and went to take some of the black water and isolated it this time since I didn't want any accidents , this time I tried to slowly put light magic in small quantities but it ended in the same result , Salem after seeing my failed attempts said "If you can't change it with the opposite element why no try using the same elements" after I heard that I looked at her while thinking and said "It makes sense , let me try it" after that I changed my magic to darkness and tried channeling it and it worked perfectly , I laughed and said to her and said "Thanks for the help there , would have took me a while to figure that out".

After that success I tried changing it's side effects to boost the powers it granted but it was a bit hard since instead of manipulating I had to use my wish to change it to mold it to my likings , it's a bit hard to describe the feeling. After almost an hour of doing that which was tiring mentally since I had to focus on a certain feeling for almost an hour without distractions because has soon has I lost control it would go back to it's previous state 'It seems I have to change it fully or it will go back to it's natural state , I wonder if that applies to everything or it's just this since it has no structure and just destructive energy' , after the tiring process I saw that my fatigue had raised and surpassed 400 and I thought 'How didn't I die one time already' but I put that aside and looked the black water that had become more liquid losing a bit of it's gooey propriety and it's total black color changing into a mix of a dark gray and after that I tried scanning it again

<Mutated Grimm Water> (A mutated version of the Grimm Waters that had it's side effects of corrupting the mind and soul changed into boosting the abilities that are gained if the being survived consuming it or being submerged in it)

After I saw the description I was happy but I was very tired so I looked at Salem and said "I succeeded in my experiment but it is very tiring , can you keep it inside the sphere while I meditate for to recover?" to which she said while smiling "Congratulation Love and yes I can do that since my magic recovers fast in these lands" I sighned after saying that and sat down to meditate after making sure Salem had control over the isolated sphere the mutated black water was.

After meditating for almost an hour I opened my eyes and got up while looking at Salem and she smiled back and asked "Now what will you do with this?" to which I said while taking the sphere from her and making an opening in it "Now I drink it" after saying that I drank the whole thing without pausing and Salem looked at me worried to which I laughed a bit and asked "Why the worried face , we are immortal" , she sighned and sat down while saying "It's not that , the pain is the worst part" and after hearing that I wasn't worried because of my maxed out [Pain Tolerance] skill but suddenly I felt a pang of pain that seemed to come from my mind and soul and I fell down while screaming and shaking in pain "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
